Bei Xuan—a soul from Earth.
His previous life had ended in a rather absurd way. He had gone to visit a friend, and just as he reached the entrance of the apartment, a loud boom erupted.
It seemed his friend's newly bought computer had exploded, and for some inexplicable reason, the blast was far stronger than it should have been. And so, he was caught in an unexpected disaster.
Since awakening in this new body, nearly ten years had passed. He had fully accepted his new identity. The moment he first opened his eyes and heard his parents talking, he realized that by sheer coincidence, he had transmigrated into Gu Jian Qi Tan's world—specifically, Tianlu City, decades after the events of Gu Jian 3.
Beiluo and Yun Wuyue were his parents in this life.
He didn't have any resistance to them. In his previous life, he had liked both of them as characters. Yun Wuyue—cold yet breathtakingly beautiful, incredibly powerful—was the most reliable female protagonist in the Gu Jian series.
And the male protagonist, Beiluo, was even more remarkable. In the world of the Three Swords—Gu Jian, Xian Jian, and Xuan Yuan Jian—where tragic endings were the norm, he was the one who forced a happy ending through sheer strength.
The second-generation Gu Jian boss, the high-level demon Xin Mo, was nothing more than an elite minion before the third-generation protagonist, the Pixie King. From his past life as Jinyun to his current self as Beiluo, he had personally slain multiple demons like that.
Final battle? The usual trope where the female lead or secondary characters sacrifice themselves for the protagonist? Not with Beiluo.
Bei Xuan still remembered that in the final battle, Beiluo left his allies behind to maintain the formation and told the female lead to wait outside. Then, he charged into the boss fight alone—and won. Because of him, all four main characters survived, marking the first time in the Three Swords series that a perfect ending was achieved through sheer strength.
With such a powerful figure as his father, Bei Xuan naturally had no complaints.
However, he didn't want to rely on others forever. Since he had come to this world, he wanted to become strong on his own. Besides, he possessed the bloodline of the Wu (Sorcerers), along with the combined blood of the Pixie and Nightmare Demon—his talent was unparalleled.
The problem was… he wasn't growing.
Ten years had passed, yet he remained a baby cradled in his mother Yun Wuyue's arms. His body showed no signs of development whatsoever. Perhaps, as Beiluo had speculated, this world simply did not acknowledge the existence of a being like him—one who had defied the natural laws of creation.
The conflicting forces of the Pixie and Nightmare Demon bloodlines prevented his body from absorbing energy and growing. While his Wu bloodline acted as a mediator, it was only inherited from Beiluo, not the original source blood. It lacked the power to completely control two opposing supreme demon bloodlines.
In other words, his Wu blood was just barely keeping him alive.
Thus, Beiluo and Yun Wuyue had the conversation earlier—Beiluo was planning to send Bei Xuan to another world. If this world refused to acknowledge his existence, then he would be sent to a world that would. Once he had grown strong enough, he could use his Pixie King abilities to return.
The Pixie King possessed a powerful ability: the power to tear through space. Beiluo, who had surpassed even the Demon Sovereigns, had developed this ability to the point where he could break through not just this world's spatial barriers, but even those of different dimensions.
Currently, Beiluo could only access two types of worlds:
Worlds far stronger than the Gu Jian universe—These worlds had impenetrable spatial barriers, and entering them would be suicidal. Examples included the Honghuang (Primordial) Universe. Worlds in an era of declining magic—In these worlds, supernatural powers were completely suppressed, making entry impossible.
Thus, Beiluo's choice was a world that could accept Bei Xuan's unique nature, one where cultivation was possible but whose power system was weaker than the Gu Jian universe.
This wasn't the first time Beiluo had done something like this.
Years ago, two of his closest subordinates—Yulin and Lanxiang—died in battle against the demons. As battle-hardened Pixies who had slain countless demons, they carried immense karmic burdens. This made reincarnation impossible. After their souls were exhausted, they became Wandering Souls.
In the Gu Jian world, Wandering Souls were tragic existences. They could only drift through the world until they eventually faded into nothingness.
Baili Tusu had nearly faced this fate as well, but Feng Qingxue had saved him using the power of Yuheng to bind his soul to a Pixie Bone, allowing him to be reborn.
Beiluo had no such divine artifact. By the time he found his subordinates' souls, they were already Wandering Souls. Beiluo refused to let his friends vanish into oblivion. So, he sent them to another world to reincarnate—the very same world Bei Xuan was about to be sent to.
"Beiluo, are you really going to do this?" Yun Wuyue asked worriedly. "When you sent Yulin and Lanxiang to another world, you already went against the Buddhist cycle of reincarnation and the Daoist law of nature. If you send Xuan'er there as well, I fear…"
Her concern was valid. Beiluo had interfered with the natural order twice now. If the beings of the Celestial Realm discovered this, they would likely come after him—no matter how much merit he had accumulated.
"Hmph. Buddhism is but an empty name, and the Dao is nothing but an illusion," Beiluo declared coldly. "I have always walked my own path. I do not take from others, nor do I harm the world. I simply wish to let my loved ones live—to see my child grow up. What crime is that? If the heavens stand in my way, I will cut them down!"
A terrifying surge of demonic energy burst forth from him, shaking the heavens and the earth. With his strength surpassing even the Demon Sovereigns, the entire world seemed to tremble. Only after Yun Wuyue gently held his hand did he gradually calm down.
She understood how much pain he was in. Their son, whom they had fought so hard to have, now had to be sent away. Who could accept that? Beiluo's outburst was nothing more than an expression of his grief.
"I'm sorry, Wuyue," Beiluo murmured, his voice softer now. "I lost my temper."
"The world I'm sending Xuan'er to has a unique power system," he continued. "There, bloodline power transforms into Martial Souls. Although that world's power system is much weaker than ours, its nature is special—even completely opposing attributes can coexist within a single body.
"I will send Xuan'er there through the baptism of that world's laws, making him the same as its inhabitants. Though his powers will be greatly diminished, his potential will remain intact. Under the protection of the Pixie King's Bone, his future remains limitless. Once he reaches the level of a god in that world, his true bloodline will awaken, and he will become the next Pixie King. At that time, he will be able to break through space and return to us.
"Moreover, if all goes well, he may even bring Yulin and Lanxiang back with him. My own power is too immense—I cannot descend into that world without shattering its laws. This is the only way."
Hearing this, Bei Xuan—still wrapped in his swaddle—was completely shocked.
A world where Martial Souls determined one's power?
There was only one place that matched that description.
Douluo Continent!
