My family were notorious information keepers. They absorbed knowledge from everything and everyone, storing it meticulously. Keeping track of this information was crucial to their collection.
And so, from a young age, they taught me to do the same.
After every few chapters, I will write down any useful information I gather—about monsters, people, anything. If I ever need it, I'll know where to find it.
So, this is my next entry...
Demons:
Demons are creatures of pure corruption, beings of hellfire and malice. They are not born, but made—souls twisted and forged in the darkest pits of the underworld. The longer a soul remains in Hell, the stronger and more dangerous the demon becomes.
Lesser demons are nothing more than rabid beasts, craving chaos. Greater demons are cunning, intelligent, and worse—patient. Some are so ancient that their names are burned into the very fabric of existence. Speaking them aloud can summon their attention.
There are three main ways to deal with a demon:
Summoning - A demon can be called into the mortal world through a summoning ritual, usually requiring a blood sacrifice. The stronger the demon, the greater the cost. High-ranking demons will rarely appear unless the summoner offers something of true value.
Exorcism - A way to banish a demon from a host body or send them back to Hell. Most exorcisms involve Latin incantations, but ancient tongues like Enochian or Abyssal work best. A demon can resist a weak exorcism, but with the right words and power, they can be forced out.
Sealing - The most dangerous method. A demon can be trapped in a specially prepared vessel, a human, or an object, but if the seal is weak, they will break free—stronger and angrier than before.
The Devil's Trap:
One of the most effective tools against demons. A Devil's Trap is a sacred symbol that, when drawn correctly, binds any demon within its boundaries. They cannot move past the lines, nor use their powers to break free. Some traps are complex, requiring precise sigils and blessed ink, while others can be as simple as a circle with runes scratched into the ground.
However, the strongest demons are immune. If a demon can walk out of a trap, it means one of two things: the trap is broken, or the demon is too powerful for it to work.
Spells I Have Learned:
Magic is limitless, but difficult to master. Here are some spells I have gathered from experience, stolen tomes, and personal study.
Igni - A burst of flames from the palm.
Aqua Veil - Creates a shield of water to block attacks.
Frostbind - Freezes an enemy's legs in place.
Shock Arc - A bolt of lightning that jumps between targets.
Veil of Shadows - Cloaks the user in darkness, muffling sound.
Piercing Howl - A sound-based attack that shatters glass and eardrums.
Chain Bind - Summons spectral chains to trap a foe.
Mirror Step - Short-range teleportation, like stepping between reflections.
Bloodletting Curse - Causes wounds to reopen and bleed out.
Phantom Grip - Allows the user to move objects with pure willpower.
Hex of Rot - Causes weapons and armor to corrode.
Revenant's Mark - Brands a target so spirits will seek them out.
Whispering Wind - A message spell that carries words across long distances.
Shatterpulse - A pulse of force that knocks enemies back.
Cursed Sight - Temporarily allows one to see invisible creatures.
Serpent's Tongue - Forces a target to speak the truth.
Sealing Rune - Used to bind spirits, demons, or even gods.
Withering Touch - Saps life force on contact.
Echo Strike - Causes a weapon strike to repeat itself.
Phantom Blade - A spectral sword that exists for a short time.
Bonebreaker Hex - Weakens bones, making them brittle.
Ghostwalk - Allows movement through solid objects for a few seconds.
Iron Ward - A protective barrier against fey creatures.
Nightmare Invocation - Plunges a target into their worst fears.
Siphon - Drains mana from another caster.
Voidstep - A longer-range teleportation spell.
Infernal Pact - Allows temporary power in exchange for a cost.
Eye of Omen - Reveals glimpses of the immediate future.
Ashen Grip - Causes fire to burn even without fuel.
Black Binding - An ancient, near-forgotten spell that chains a soul to an object.
The Four Artifacts I Took:
Silver Key Pendant - A short-distance teleportation artifact. Needs to be recharged after each use.
Rune-Carved Staff - Amplifies earth magic and allows shockwave attacks.
Jagged Phaseblade - A sword that phases through armor and barriers.
Obsidian Eye - A relic that lets the user see in complete darkness and through illusions.
Orc's Blood:
A rare alchemical ingredient with incredible properties.
Acts as a mana amplifier, temporarily increasing the power of spells.

The Deal I Made:
It has been one day since I made my deal with the demon.
Nine years, eleven months, and twenty-nine days remain.
I gave up my soul in ten years for a single vial of orc's blood.
A foolish deal? Maybe. But I have a decade to figure out how to break it.
If I don't... well, I'll be dead, and my soul will belong to Hell.
And I do not plan on going to Hell.
