*Ding dong! Once again, the train will arrive at Shibuya Station! Please pay attention to your destination route and be careful when getting off.*
In a train crowded with people who had just finished their activities, a woman's voice rang out throughout the train car.
Many passengers began to get ready to get off, while some were still casually playing with their smartphones.
A few minutes later, the train gradually slowed down before finally stopping.
As the doors on all the cars opened, the people inside rushed out with hasty steps, bumping into each other in the crowd.
Suddenly...
"Ouch!"
A woman in business clothes was thrown to the side by the push of the people getting off.
She tried to stabilize her body from falling but failed because of the high heels she was wearing.
Just as her body was about to fall, a hand quickly restrained her waist, accompanied by a worried voice from the side.
"Are you alright?"
The woman was startled. She turned her head in the direction of the voice and found a handsome man looking at her worriedly.
"I'm fine... Thank you," she said shyly.
The man let out a small sigh and nodded slowly. "Take care."
After saying that, he removed his hand from her waist and left.
The woman was a little dazed, staring at his back that was slowly disappearing in the crowd.
'What a kind man...'
...
The night was getting late, and without realizing it, it was already 10:00 pm.
However, Shibuya—one of Tokyo's most lively and bustling districts—showed no signs of quieting down.
People from all over the place are still busy with their nightly activities, whether it be leisurely strolling, dating, or shopping.
Amidst the crowd, a handsome man with a tired expression walked by, observing the lively scene around him.
"I really envy those who can relax like that," he muttered, his gaze filled with envy.
While others enjoyed themselves, a corporate worker like him had no such luxury.
Even on his days off, he spent them cleaning his room or sleeping. With just two days off, it felt like a waste not to rest.
"Huh..." He let out a soft sigh, then took another sip from his soda can as he continued walking.
"Hmm?" He suddenly noticed the can was empty.
His eyes scanned the distance, spotting a trash can about fifty meters away.
Glancing back at the empty can in his hand, he smiled and tossed it toward the trash.
Whoosh!
As the can flew through the air, it hit the edge of the trash can and fell to the opposite side.
Not long after, a loud "ouch" echoed from near the trash can.
The man froze. "Is there someone behind the trash can?"
Without a second thought, he hurried over and found an old beggar rubbing his head in pain.
The old man immediately noticed him and glared angrily.
"Did you throw this soda can at my head, young man?" He asked, his voice filled with annoyance as he held up the can.
The man's face turned red with embarrassment, and he lowered his gaze.
"I'm sorry. It wasn't intentional," he apologized, his tone full of guilt.
But the old man only snorted coldly, showing no sign of forgiveness.
He slowly rose to his feet and tossed the soda can into the trash can.
"Do you think saying sorry is enough? My head hurts from that can, and I need compensation for medical expenses," he said, extending his hand as though expecting payment.
The handsome man was left speechless. He hadn't expected the beggar to be so shameless.
However, he didn't want to argue and simply replied, "I don't have any money on me. The nearest ATM is five hundred meters away, and that's too far."
He reached into the plastic bag in his right hand, pulled out two packs of bread and a box of chocolate milk, and handed them to the old man.
"How about I pay with these? You haven't eaten since morning, right?"
The old man, surprised, looked into his eyes and saw sincerity.
Subconsciously, a faint smile spread across his lips. He nodded gratefully.
"Young man, I didn't expect you to be so thoughtful," he said with a chuckle, accepting the food. "I haven't eaten since morning, and I'm starving. I only asked for money to fill my stomach so that I can have a good night's sleep. I'm sorry."
His tone softened as he slowly opened the plastic bread and began eating.
The handsome man simply smiled without saying anything. He realized the medical expenses the old man mentioned was just an excuse—most likely, he needed money for food.
He could have ignored him and walked away, but for some reason, he didn't want to.
After ensuring the old man was okay, he turned around and waved. "I'll be going now."
Just as he took a few steps, the old man suddenly called out to him.
"Wait a minute, young man!"
The handsome man was startled and looked back, confused. "What is it now? Are you still hungry? Sorry, I only have those two breads left."
He opened the plastic bag, revealing only shampoo and liquid soap of the same brand.
But the old man didn't even glance at it and shook his head.
"Not that," he said, pulling a pack of gold-colored candy from his pocket and tossing it toward him. "Take it."
The handsome man reflexively caught the candy, eyeing it with doubt. "Candy? What's this for?"
The old man balled up the bread and milk wrappers and threw them in the trash.
"It's a wish candy," he explained with a mysterious smile. "If you eat it and make a wish, it'll come true."
"Wish candy?" The handsome man was taken aback, not expecting such a thing.
He furrowed his brow and gave the old man a puzzled look. "Are you joking? It's the 21st century, you know?"
The old man, however, seemed unfazed by his reaction and waved a hand dismissively. "I don't care whether you believe it or not. Just consider it a reward for your kindness."
The handsome man fell silent but didn't argue. Since it was given with good intentions, he had no reason to refuse and slipped the candy into his pocket.
As he raised his head, ready to speak, he was suddenly startled—the old man had already vanished.
"Damn... how is that possible?"
