Chapter 34 - The Baby Dragon’s Banana Friend

Rhodes Island Baby Dragon Management and Safety Committee Temporary Office

"What has Kanna been up to lately?"

"Ever since she got punished with cleaning duty, that little rascal has found a new game. Every day, she roams the ship carrying a huge broom, excitedly running to clean up any trash she sees. Thankfully, Rhodes Island is big enough that by the time she makes a full round, the day is almost over."

After the last incident, Outcast, who had been idle at home, took it upon herself to act as Kanna's manager. She even obtained temporary access to Priscillus' surveillance system from Kal'tsit, allowing her to track Kanna's location and movements throughout the ship.

Hearing Outcast's report, everyone in the room let out a sigh of relief.

Since "fully charging up," Kanna had been bursting with energy. It was precisely this excess energy that led to the disaster on the bridge. Having such a high-energy, hyperactive little girl, who also happened to be absurdly strong, had been a source of constant headaches for the management.

To better guide and regulate the baby dragon's behavior, Kal'tsit approved the formation of the Rhodes Island Baby Dragon Management and Safety Committee, led by Amiya, with members including Outcast, Scout, and Red, among other operators.

Thankfully, after her last punishment, Kanna had been laying low to avoid drawing attention and ruining her plan to sneak into Outcast's convoy. However, to avoid being too quiet and seeming suspicious, she came up with the "Sacrificing Precious Sleep for the Cleanliness of Rhodes Island" plan.

Thanks to her high stamina and limitless energy, she spent her days roaming the ship with a broom, diligently pretending to be a janitor.

Most people on Rhodes Island had already heard of her "legendary exploits"—after all, she was the first person in Rhodes Island history to be forced to publicly recite a self-criticism speech over the ship's intercom.

As a result, everyone greeted her with smiles and waves whenever they saw her. Some of the more familiar operators even offered her snacks.

In fact, Lucille even reported to Kal'tsit that since Kanna joined Rhodes Island, snack sales had increased by 30%—a testament to the little dragon's growing skill in scamming free food.

That day, as usual, Kanna swaggered down the hallway with her broom, when she noticed A1 Squad standing nearby, fully geared up and chatting.

Excited, she pitter-pattered over to them.

"Hey! Fang, Beagle, Kroos, Hibiscus, Lava—are you guys heading out on a mission?"

Seeing Kanna happily trotting over, Fen playfully flicked her forehead, then replied with some excitement:

"Yeah! We heard that Elite Operator Logos discovered something in Laterano, so Instructor Misery has already led a squad to provide support. Meanwhile, we—the A1 Action Reserve Team—have been assigned as the logistics and backup unit for the operation."

Kanna froze for a second.

Laterano? A1 Squad?

Wait… isn't this the whole "Dumb Dog Spends 200 Orundums to Board the Island" incident?!

Suddenly, she understood why Ceobe attacked A1 Squad despite being exhausted and starving—because they were the logistics team!

Of course they were carrying loads of food.

And with Ceobe's straightforward personality, the moment she saw a pile of food while starving, it was obvious she'd lose all rationality.

As A1 Squad finished preparing and was about to leave, Kanna grabbed Fen's hand.

"If you guys run into a dumb-looking dog, don't fight her. Just bribe her with food. Trust me, do not engage in combat."

???

Fang stared at Kanna in utter confusion, completely baffled.

"There's no need to understand," Kanna continued. "You'll know when it happens. Also—make sure to bring her back with you!"

Seeing Fang's bewildered expression, Kanna put a finger to her lips and shushed mysteriously before dashing off, her footsteps echoing through the corridor.

Back in the squad, the others asked what Kanna had said.

Fang just shook her head—after all, Kanna's warning was cryptic at best, and with her reputation as an unreliable gremlin, it didn't seem worth repeating.

As she walked away, Kanna began to worry about something else.

Once Ceobe arrived, with her bottomless appetite added to her own already alarming food consumption…

Rhodes Island might be facing an unprecedented food crisis.

However, before she could dwell on that thought, she spotted someone familiar—

A young girl she had met during Rhodes Island's recent deep-cleaning project.

During that time, the girl had accidentally shattered an entire pane of glass due to a loss of control over her strength.

Coincidentally, Kanna happened to be nearby when she heard the commotion. Curious, she ran over.

When she found the girl struggling to control herself, Kanna easily subdued her, pinning her to the ground until she calmed down.

By the time Kal'tsit and the medical team arrived, they found Kanna kneeling on the ground, while the girl rested her head on Kanna's lap, enjoying a peaceful "lap pillow" moment.

After discovering that Kanna could effortlessly restrain her, the girl became Kanna's self-proclaimed little sidekick.

Since then, the two often wandered around Rhodes Island together, and whenever the girl showed signs of losing control, Kanna would quickly step in to suppress her—preventing any further damage.

Kal'tsit, of course, was more than happy to let this arrangement continue. The two little troublemakers could keep each other in check, saving her a ton of headaches.

Seeing the girl, Kanna sneakily crept up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder.

When the girl turned around, Kanna had already moved behind her.

The girl, seeing nothing behind her, turned forward again—only to find Kanna grinning in front of her.

"Ah! Kanna!"

At first startled, the girl quickly beamed with joy and threw herself into Kanna's arms.

Hmm… her control still needs work.

Feeling the overwhelming strength in that hug—strong enough to knock out a grown man—Kanna couldn't help but nod approvingly.

She's getting better, though.

Despite her small frame, the girl possessed immense brute strength. However, she lacked proper control over it.

And with her Oripathy occasionally causing her to lose control, she had very few friends her age on Rhodes Island.

But after realizing that Kanna could suppress her strength effortlessly, she became attached—viewing Kanna as her kindred spirit and cherishing their friendship deeply.

Every time they met, she'd greet Kanna with an adorable, suffocating hug—one that could easily send any lolicon straight to heaven.

Thanks to Kanna's training, the girl was gradually learning to control her strength. Now, she only lost control when she got too excited, but otherwise, she no longer accidentally broke things on Rhodes Island.

Her teammates in A6 Squad were immensely grateful for Kanna's help—especially a certain dog boy, who was frequently subjected to their curious experiments on why his hands felt so different from others.

Of course, he never got mad about it. Instead, he always laughed it off while smooth-talking the two little troublemakers into more mischief.
