SCENE ONE: ARRIVAL AT THE CONVENT
The scent of old parchment and burning incense filled the air as Seraphina stepped out of the cab, gripping the handle of her small, worn-out suitcase. Her heart pounded against her ribs—half with excitement, half with the weight of what she was leaving behind.
The grand convent stood before her, its ancient stone walls stretching toward the heavens, the towering cross at its peak casting a shadow over the courtyard. The place she had dreamed of for years.
"This is it," she whispered to herself.
A group of nuns, dressed in flowing black habits, moved gracefully across the courtyard, their soft murmurs blending with the distant chime of church bells. The sight filled her with a strange sense of peace. She was finally here.
But peace was not the only thing that waited for her within those walls.
"You must be Seraphina," a deep voice interrupted her thoughts.
She turned and met the gaze of a young priest standing near the archway of the entrance. His robes were crisp, his presence commanding yet strangely tense.
"Father Damien," he introduced himself, offering his hand.
She hesitated before shaking it, something about the way his eyes lingered making her uneasy. But she dismissed the feeling. He was a man of God.
"I am honored to be here, Father," she said softly.
"You will find the convent... life-changing," he replied, but something in his tone made the words feel like a warning.
SCENE TWO: FLASHBACK – HER STRUGGLE TO JOIN THE CONVENT
Before stepping through those sacred doors, Seraphina's mind drifted to the past—to the nights she spent pleading with her mother to let her leave home and devote herself to God.
"Seraphina, you don't understand what you're asking!" Her mother's voice trembled with desperation.
"I do, Mama! This is what I want. This is what I was born for!"
Her mother's weary eyes filled with tears. "You were born to live, to love, to have a family."
"I am choosing love! A higher love, a love that does not break, does not betray!"
Her mother grabbed her hands, squeezing them tightly. "Then why does it feel like I am losing you?"
Seraphina's heart ached, but she stood firm. "Because I was never meant to belong to this world."
That night, her mother cried herself to sleep. And now, standing at the gates of the convent, Seraphina wondered if she had broken the heart of the only person who had ever truly loved her.
But it was too late. She had chosen her path.
SCENE THREE: ENTERING HER NEW LIFE
The heavy wooden doors of the convent creaked open as Mother Lucia, the head of the convent, greeted her warmly.
"Welcome, Sister Seraphina. From this moment on, your past life is no more."
Seraphina took a deep breath, stepping forward into the unknown.
Behind her, Father Damien watched.
And in that moment, the heavens themselves seemed to darken.
