_Chapter 2: The Diary's Secret_
Emily's eyes widened as she read the words scribbled in Elizabeth's diary. The entries were cryptic, but they spoke of a dark presence that lurked in the shadows, waiting to strike.
"...I saw it again tonight," Elizabeth wrote. "The beast with eyes that glow like embers. It's getting closer, I can feel it."
Emily felt a shiver run down her spine. She had always been skeptical of the legend, but Elizabeth's words seemed to ring with a desperate truth.
As she turned the page, Emily noticed a strange symbol etched into the margin. It looked like a crescent moon with an arrow pointing towards the top. Suddenly, the lights in the library began to flicker, and Emily felt a strange, unsettling energy in the air.
She tried to shake off the feeling, telling herself it was just her imagination playing tricks on her. But as she continued to read, she realized that Elizabeth's diary was more than just a simple account of a legend. It was a warning, a message from the past that spoke of an ancient evil that still lurked in the shadows.
And then, just as Emily was about to close the diary, she saw it. A message, scrawled in red ink across the final page:
"They're coming for you."
Emily's heart skipped a beat. Who was coming for her? And what did they want?
