Chapter 5: Jessie
Evelyn's Point of View
Of course. Of course there's drama. Why can my things never run so smoothly. Why can't things always go as planned? I gave the moon goddess too much credit. Now, she must be cackling. I turn to see who it was that had the audacity to interrupt such an important event for both of the packs. It was a raggedly female. She didn't look bad but from her aura I called tell she was a mere Omega. My wolf was already getting angry and I felt my eyes turn. I had to control myself. I'm the bride, I should be demure, calm and poised, but goddess do I feel like ripping out her throat. I look at Kai nut I don't Dee the same fury on my features. He knows this female.
"Jessie, what are you doing here?" He asks calmly. I think his expression even softens when he looks at her. The woman, Jessie is full on angry at this point. She is screaming at us right now and making a scene. Kai loos torn. He is trying to plead with her but it doesn't work. I stand, waiting heartbroken for someone to explain what is happening and trying not to listen to the woman's claims if not they would bring me to tears. She was claiming that she was pregnant with Kai's pup. I blink back the tears and Sophie holds my hand, squeezing it comfortingly. There is chaos and people from Kai's side are yelling. Everywhere just erupted in chaos but I would not be the bride who cries on her wedding.
"Get that lying female out of here!" That's all I hear and then pack warriors pull the female out. There's a moment where everyone goes silent. I take a deep breath to steady myself. Dada prepared me for times like these. I need to remain calm.
"Well, now that's settled, shall we get married?" I say, offering Kai my hand. He takes it and gives me a small smile. His hair was scattered from the amount of times he had run his hand through them due to the stress from the situation. I liked it that way. The priest binds us together and we share our first kiss as a married couple. We go on to have dinner and I eventually recover my mirth, dancing with dad. It was beautiful and dad cried all through but it was funny because dad is a good alpha, but a dancer he is not.
My first dance with Kai was magical. I had forgotten all about Jessie. I would ask about that later. I just wanted to dance with my husband. The rest of the night goes perfect and soon, I'm leaving to go and live with Kai. This part got me really emotional. I hadn't prepared to be leaving. It's annoying because I wasn't even at this house so much. However, my stuff is packed and I bid everyone bye. The ride home is silent. I guess we both have a lot on our minds.
In laughing so hard my stomach hurts. Kai insisted on carrying me over the foyer. We get to the room and all the drama from the night disappeared. Immediately he set me down, his lips were on mine. They weren't as gentle as before. They conveyed every bit of the passion I was feeling and he was too. In seconds, his clothes were off and so were mine, well most of it. He made me take off everything except the veil. That had to be the sexiest thing I have ever done. He pulls me to him and we can't get enough of each other. He pulls me down so that I'm beneath him and sinks his teeth into my neck. That had to be the greatest amount of pleasure I have ever felt from a singular bite. He had just marked me. We were forever mated now. Finally, we were one. I mark him too and we spend the night on each other's arms.
I wake up in the arms of my husband. He was still asleep so I could stare at him without feeling weird. He has a really cute nose. I was content here but the ambience was ruined by a knock on the door. It wakes Kai and he goes to see what is going on. There's a whole lot of noise so I go with him. It turned out to be Jessie, the same woman from the wedding This time, she was with people. She thrust a sheet of paper in our faces and goes to sit. Kai reads through it silently. He doesn't say anything but the suspense is killing me so I snatch it from his grasp when he's done. The words in the document shatters me, she was actually pregnant with Kai's pup. This changes everything.
"You cannot just abandon me. We were together for three years, Malakai. You can't just throw that away. I don't want your money." Jessie was saying. I felt her pain bit my wolf only saw her as a threat. I didn't know that he had a girlfriend all these while. It was an option but I never explored it. Apparently, he did and now, she is going to have his pup. Soon, Jessie leaves after Kai talks to her and she calms down. The morning after her wedding was a disaster so far. She took out some cereal. Kai sits with me while I have breakfast.
"I'm sorry about the whole situation. It's just that I had given up on the idea of finding you. But I cannot deny my pup so Sophie would have to move in." I nearly spit out the cornflakes in my mouth. There's no way he is suggesting that. I take a deep breath and try to politely explain why his ex cannot live with us. He is stubborn though. That marks the turning point of our relationship. After this I am never truly happy in my own home.
Kai forced me to live with Sophie, claiming that the pup can feel when the parents are separated. Jessie kept getting on my nerves. She would pretend in front of Kai but she was a witch. I couldn't do it anymore. I complained to Kai about the whole situation but it didn't work. He had become completely cold and distant to me. I try again but this time he snaps at me.
"I can see you do not want me to have my son. You would not standing the way of my family. I reject you, Evelyn Huntley.
