Rise Of The Legendary Knight,
Westmoreland, June 201, Midnight
After days of clouds covering the night sky, that night, the sky was clear, and the moon and stars were visible. No more tumult of noise from battles on the battlefield, no more commotion in the royal palace, and no more tension between commoners and royalty.
People from all walks of life in the city-state of Westmoreland have unanimously agreed to elevate their city-state's royal war hero as the new king, with the title of King Thomas II at the age of 30.
For almost 14 years, the previous ruler of Westmoreland only thought about expanding his empire and power without considering the needs of the common people. Their king never gave 'The Royal Knights' of this city-state a chance to rest for long; they are the ones who lead the army when fighting to conquer other city-states.
'The Royal Knights' is the title of an elite team of royal warriors led by the new Duke of Clayburnt, Thomas Redwill. Thomas is assisted by his right-hand man, who is also his best friend, Arthur Harrington, the eldest son of the Duke of Claymore.
For many years, the previous king took advantage of the obedience and patriotism of the elite team, the Royal Knights, led by Thomas for the sake of their greed for power. And today marks exactly two weeks since Thomas was installed as the new king of the Westmoreland city-state after more than a month of the previous king being overthrown. All the king's closest relatives, including his queen, queen mother, prin princesses and concubines, were hanged to death, witnessed by all the common people.
When Thomas was enjoying the quiet atmosphere of the night on the balcony in front of the royal bedroom, he saw something in the sky that he had never seen before. The fire that emitted a colorful light formed in the sky, mesmerizing his eyes.
What is more surprising, behind the sky decorated with glittering fireworks, clearly visible in the sky of the country are two figures of human-like creatures with transparent wings. The two strange creatures that are not the same size compete with each other for their magical powers using their respective wands of different shapes and colors.
Some time after that, a small-sized creature was seen receiving help from three more companions to defeat their enemies. Thomas was stunned to witness the strange event in the sky. He tried to look around, in case there were other eyewitnesses. It turned out that he was the only one who could see the strange event because some of the palace guards on duty at the entrance did not look up at the sky.
"Why am I the only one who can see what is happening in the sky? What really happened?" Thomas wondered to himself.
Suddenly, after that, a colorful light hit him. Thomas was so surprised and didn't have time to do anything but close his eyes. And after a while, he slowly opened his eyes again. His eyes widened. Everything around him looked strange and became very large!
Fraser's Hill, Pahang, Malaysia.
6pm, December 1965.
"Thomas!? Really!? This is really Thomas from the book!" said a boy who was very excited & just as surprised as Thomas to the winged creatures who were competing their magical power just now.
"Thomas? Who is Thomas?" asked one of the diminutive winged creatures to the boy. They and Thomas were only the size of the boy's index finger. His name is Freddy.
"Hey boy, what are you talking about? Don't try to do stupid tricks to save your friends." a bigger size fairy interrupted. His body was as big as the child despite the fact that he was an adult. He is a local fairy who comes from a forest quite far from Freddy's house.
"What tricks? Just look at him. Isn't he the same guy as in this book?" Freddy responded as he showed the lthemse the comic book. The other fairies also took the opportunity to look at the contents of the book shown by Freddy.
Meanwhile, Thomas who still can't believe what happened to him at this moment tried to speak but no sound came out of his mouth despite repeated attempts. Then, he decided to advance to Freddy, climbing to the child's feet. Seeing Thomas's small body trying to climb his legs, Freddy bent down and picked Thomas up and placed him on his palm. "You're Thomas, right?"
Thomas nodded then he turned towards the book that Freddy had shown earlier. The fairies were also stunned and their gazes alternated between Thomas and the comic book.
"Exactly the same guy." whispered one of them.
"Actually, on the front page of this comic there is a picture of Thomas. But now it's gone because Thomas has came out. From this front page." Freddy explains his theory. Thomas couldn't understand whats written on that comic. He could not read it because it looks so strange even though he fully understand the conversation between the young boy and those fairies.
"Rise Of The Legendary Knight…?" The little fairies read the title of the comic and looked between Freddy and Thomas.
"Yes. The name of this comic is Rise Of The Legendary Knight. I love this comic! He is the hero! Haha! It's nice to be able to hold Thomas. The Legendary Knight. He looks so real, isnt he?" Freddy said to a group of fairies who were friends with him. Some agreed and some shook their heads.
"Freddy, it looks like he's trying to talk to you." what the fairy said was right. They just realized that Thomas hasn't said a single word since he came out of his comic.
"Yes, that's right. Tommy, say something." Freddy said to Thomas.
"Tommy? Isn't his name Thomas?"
"Tommy is his nickname because he is small and cute."
"But look at his muscles. He's ripped even though he's the same size as us."
"And he's handsome ❤️."
"Of cause Tommy have big muscles and handsome, because he is the hero of this comic. A legendary warrior!" said the little boy. Feels so proud of his favourite comic characters.
"Wait a second!" suddenly the bigger fairy intervened and attracted everyone's attention. "How can he get out of that book? It's just a drawing. Isn't it strange?" asked the local fairy.
"Haa...that's what we were thinking too." replied a fairy from the small size class.
Freddy responded "When you guys were fighting, I saw your fairy dust mixed with the magic power of your magic wand. The spark from those combination hit this comic book."
More precisely, the spark from the combination of magical power and fairy dust that hit the front page of the comic book had produced a new energy, which caused the drawing that was directly hit by the spark to become real. Since that day on, Freddy befriended Thomas and invited him to live with his family in Fraser Hill.
Freddy's acquaintance with a group of little fairies started from his father who was from Scotland. When his father was only 5, his father found a pair of fairies playing on a flower petal. Since then, the three of them were good friends until when his father migrated to Malaysia with his family, he also brought the two fairies secretly.
That time his father was around 12 years old. Freddy's father remained in contact with them until his father grew up, married and had children. Not only his father had children, the fairies also multiplied until they became dozens. This is because fairies reproduce quickly unlike humans who need 9 months in the womb.
One day, one of the fairies from Europe collided with the local fairies. The size of the two creatures is not the same. Fairies from Scotland are as small as a child's index finger, while local fairies are the size of a normal child.
When the two met, at first they only clashed over their respective settlement areas. However, over time after weeks the conflict between the two transparent winged creatures became worse.
They began to attack using their magic wands. That's when, fragments of their magic dust splashed on the comic and from there, suddenly the image that was hit by the splash of magic dust formed a small body with the same size as the original image.
Thomas is the main character in the comic 'Rise Of The Legendary Knight', it tells how Thomas, a great royal knight, was finally become a king of Westmoreland after defending the people who were oppressed by their heartless and selfish king.
