On the bridge

I ran from the explosion, from the chaos, from the destruction in the auction. I was supposed to be sold. I got lucky. I got away. But there is nothing waiting for me in the outside world.

Before all this, I watched my own family slaughtered. Just because my father was a corrupted lawyer, his clients were the one that destroyed my family,my future and they sold me to this fucked up system.

Now, I have nothing. No one will believe me—not after everything I've seen. The men and women behind this shit? They're untouchable. Even if I testify, my words mean nothing. I have no evidence, no names. Just memories of monsters.

The rain slams against my skin, cold and relentless, as I step to the edge of the bridge. My body shakes, though I don't know if it's from the cold or exhaustion. Below, the river rages—angry, violent, eager to swallow me whole.

I close my eyes. My breath shudders. My fingers curl into fists.

"There is no god in this damn universe," I shout. "No devil either."

And then before I can jump—hands.

Large, strong hands wrap around my waist and yank me backward with brutal force. I collided into something solid, and we both hit the ground.

Warm breath ghosts against my ear. A low, mocking whisper makes my blood freeze.

"Tsk. My little wolf thought she could escape? You were already mine before the hammer even fell. And now? Now I even own your last breath."

A chuckle follows. Low. Amused. Icy.

My stomach drops. I know that voice.

Cesar.

The boogeyman.

The man I was supposed to be sold to—he caught me.

No.

Not him.

I struggle, breath ragged, limbs shaking from adrenaline. My pulse hammers as I try to break free—

Crack.

Lightning tears through me.

I don't see it—only feel it. A violent, searing jolt of electricity surges through my body, snapping my muscles rigid. My jaw locks in a silent scream. My vision flashes white, and for a split second, I am nowhere. Just trapped inside my own body—shaking, convulsing, powerless.

A garbled sound chokes from my throat as my muscles betray me. My skin burns where the device touched me. Every nerve is on fire, and yet I can do nothing.

Nothing but twitch.

Nothing but collapse into the abyss.

And then—darkness.
