Deep down in the forest, a small village can be found at the foothill of Mount Kongo. The village was called Chihayaakasaka and it is surrounded with mountains, rice field and forest. It is a peaceful and calm village that is away from a nearest city called Osaka. People who lived there is contented with their simple lifestyle, taking care their own rice field and animals such as cow, goat and chickens. Among the villager, there's an old man living with his grandson in Chihayaakasaka. They started living together after his son and daughter-in-law is said to be passed away due to an accident which is the parent of his grandson. The old man accepted the responsibility to take care of his grandson. Afterwards, they lived happily with their own rice field as their source of income.
(PRESENT TIME)
As the clock hits 6:00 pm, the old man called his grandson in a loud voice that echoes the entire rice field since his grandson is on the other side of the field.
"IT'S 6:00 PM!"
His grandson was playing with the other kids. After hearing his grandfather call, he replied immediately in a loud voice also so they can hear each other answers.
"I'LL BE THERE IN A MINUTE!" Afterwards, he turned his attention to his playmate and said.
"Let's play tomorrow!". He happily invited them to play again tomorrow using the same game they play today.
All of his playmate also happily agreed to him and said that it was fun. One of them is named Hinatah. Later on, their parents also started calling out their children to eat their dinner. They immediately went to their houses and the boy also went back to his grandfather to go back to their home together.
(LATER THAT EVENING)
The boy was sleeping besides his grandfather. It was a quite and peaceful night. The moon is so full and shine the entire village with its beautiful light. Everything looks pretty normal, as usual not until the clock hits 12:00 am midnight. The old man suddenly heared a rustling sound coming from the back of their house which causes him to wake up from his sleep. He take a look using the window but the confusing part is that he saw nothing from it.
"Am I hearing things?"
He started doubted himself if he was just hearing things or imagining due to old age. He take a look to the window again to make sure that he never saw anything at the back of their houses, afterwards he went back to the bed. However, as soon as he was about to fall asleep, a loud sudden noise coming from his neighbor which surprises him. He aroused from his bed to looked around and saw his grandson was still sleeping peacefully even after that loud yell which made him feel ease, at the same time he also felt worried of what could happen from the neighborhood. All of the villagers suddenly alarmed from the yell and came directly outside their houses to investigate of what's going on and where did the yell come from. The old man also stepped out from his house.
A man can be seen running towards them with his feet pounding the dusty earth. He was sweating and his eyes were wide open with terror and his expression was twisted in a grimace of fear. He was shouting at the top of his lungs, alerting the other villagers of a sudden raid.
"THERE ARE BANDITS! ATTACKING OUR VILLAGE!!!". The man's voices hoarse from the exertion.
While running, he gestured wildly his arms, pointing back towards the burning house which is owned by him. The thatched of the roof was still smoldering, sending a plume of smoke into the evening air disrupting the beautiful shine of the moon. After hearing the man's warning, the villager's started to panicked. Mostly woman went inside to their houses to wake up their sleeping children and told them to leave immediately as they are being under attacked, while all of the men grabbed their axes that serves them as their weapon to protect their family and the village.
Under the thick smoke of a burning house, a silhoutte can be seen coming from the house, as if they are not being affected by the flame. They counted the silhoutte and is is plain to see that there are 10 people appeared to be the bandits who come to destroy their houses including the leader in the middle who's walking infront of them. Some men recognized the bandits that made them feel surprised seeing them.
"Don't tell me—" . Their presence is enough to send a shivers down to their spine.
"Out of all the bandits." another man replied while his body is shaking unstable.
"Why?" another man also started asking, out of all bandits, why them and out of all villages, why us.
They could hear the bandit's footstep coming from the burning house as they are closed in to them. They immediately surrounded them at the front door, even if its cost them their life, knowing that they won't see another day after this just so they can buy a time to their wives and children to escape from here.
"It's the famous bandits, the RONGO VILLAGE DESTORYER!". one of the men yelled as loud as the whole villagers can hear. Informing the others to leave immediately.
It was the famous mountain bandit called "Rongo Village destroyer". They are famous for raiding and destroying a small village, making them their own territory. Their leader is wearing a brown dirty cloak with an eyepatch on the other side of his eye to cover his scar. They called him "The flame demon" because of his power to manipulate and create a flame out of nowhere, and he is the cause of the previous house. The old man saw all of this as he was just standing infront of his house. He could also feel the bearing fear weighing down him just by hearing their group names and was sweating. His mind reeled with thoughts of all the life they have been through together with his grandson and other people in this small village. Their rice field and everything they lived for will be destroyed by this people in a mere seconds. The thought of never seeing them again, pains the old man almost too much to bear his fragile heart.
When he noticed that all the men are preparing to attack the bandits, that gives him a little bit of time to escape with his grandson. He quickly run inside their house and wake up his grandson, telling him that they need to leaved immediately in which it made the boy confused on what's really happened right now. They pack their things that can help them to survive while escaping like a little of food and water. When they are about to leave the house, they saw a dead body lying infront of their door, soaked with his own blood. It was one of the mens who was planning to attack the bandits. An axe was stuck on its head, causing him to die. The boy saw this and a thrill of fear is crawling through his entire body. The old man was shocked to see this and when he turned his attention forward, he saw a terrifying scene. All of the men who are preparing to attack the bandits were all wiped out in an instance by the hand of the leader. They are being eaten by his hungry flame, burning them until nothing left but only their bones. All of them are screaming for mercy while they're hopeless and can't be help anymore.
The old man dragged his grandson to run away from the bandits. His eyes swiftly locate the other remaining villagers and as soon as he saw them, they immediately join their escape. The oldman and his grandson run for their lives together with the other villagers. A forest can be seen ahead and as soon as they passed the last house of the village, they can escape from the bandits. That's what all they thinking, however, out of the blue, a huge red sphere is flying on top of them and landed at the Forest. Little did they know, it causes a big sparks that burned all the trees in the forest, blocking their path to escape. It was the leader who throw away the ball of fire to burn the tree so they won't escaped. The remaining villagers halt in their way as they watched their path being block with fire. Before they can reacted, the bandits are already behind them. They could hear the bandit's footsteps closing in and the sound keeps growing louder with each passing moment. Their menacing laughter echoed through the night air after destroying their houses, corrupts, ricefields and even killing their animals. The village is covered with black thick smoke and each houses is being burned down by a massive flames.
From a peaceful night, turned into a horrifying event for them under just 1 hour after the raid.
