Chereads / A Tale Of Transmigrator / Chapter 2 - Slingshot

Chapter 2 - Slingshot

" Now that I was sitting here let me sort out the memories first."

" The body that my soul somehow fused now is named Aaron Silver. He is an orphan with no family or friends."

" This world has strange rules. It's mostly like a game world. Like here you will awaken a profession/ job when you reach age fifteen."

" The profession/ job is classified into different categories. Attack Professionals are Warrior, Mage, Archer, etc. Defense Professionals are Shield wielders, knights, etc. Support Professions like Priest, Summoner, etc. Life Professions like Farmer, Alchemist, Blacksmith, Tailor, etc."

"Professionals were also called Blessed people. The professionals were blessed with skill while awakening. What was even more amazing was that they could even learn skills after they leveled up. Of course not every level but every five-level."

" There were also people who couldn't awaken any kind of profession. They were also given another name for it, and it was Fallen."

" Fallen, unlike professionals, could only depend on themselves to level up. Even learning skills required a lot of effort. Moreover, after every ten levels, they must fight alone and defeat a boss opponent to increase their level limit."

" It was very hard for them to cross the threshold of level 10 and most of the Fallen were stuck at this level. Moreover, learning a skill alone would take too much time. But there was also one advantage that the Fallen had and it was that they could learn skills from any profession. As long as they could learn it."

Aaron Silver's parents were blessed people, but unfortunately, they died while protecting Misty Town during the beast tide. This event took place when he was fourteen years old. He was sad, but somehow, he managed to come out of sadness.

At age fifteen, the awakening ceremony, which was performed for free at the adventurer guild, became the most frustrating day of his life. On that day, he realized that he was Fallen. The fallen were very few in number.

Two days after sulking, he started to practice himself. The other people also knew about his identity as Fallen. Most people gave him a sympathetic look while some of them had a gloating expression.

Aaron knew that things would only get worse. Indeed, a few days later, his subsidy was also cut off. From that day onwards, he would go and work part-time as a waiter in a nearby inn.

He also knew that if he wanted to change his situation then he must learn at least a skill. But learning skills was a very difficult thing for a Fallen. As no one would like to waste their time on him. Moreover, he had to spend silver coins to ask them to demonstrate the skill. It was impossible with the current savings he had.

Even buying weapons was impossible. So all he could do was craft a weapon by himself and practice it without any guidance. From wooden swords, daggers, polearms, sticks, bows, and arrows, he practiced them for a month each.

But even after practicing for so long, he didn't get any skills. This disappointed him further. Just when he was going to give up. He remembered that he had a slingshot that his parents had bought him when he was young. Moreover, his father had taught him how to use it. Not only that he also loved to play with it when he was a child.

So once again, with a determined expression, he practiced slingshot. This time within three days he mastered the skill named-

SLINGSHOT MASTERY (LV.1)- YOU CAN USE THE SLINGSHOT TO SHOOT AT THE TARGET IN A DISTANCE OF 10 METERS.

After mastering this skill, Aaron Silver felt that he finally had found himself a direction that he could follow. He silently cried all night full of joy and sadness.

For the next three months, he practiced this skill and increased it by three levels.

SLINGSHOT MASTERY (LV.4)- YOU CAN USE THE SLINGSHOT TO SHOOT AT THE TARGET IN A DISTANCE OF 50 METERS. THE WEATHER DOESN'T AFFECT YOUR ACCURACY ANYMORE.

By this time he was already seventeen years old. At the same time, he also felt that it was time for him to start his own adventure.

Full of confidence he brought two slingshots and two hundred metal bullets that he could buy from the Old Jack shop who ran a blacksmith.

As Aaron entered the Misty Forest he cautiously proceeded. He was lucky enough to not encounter any poisonous insects/ snakes. As he moved forward, he suddenly heard a noise coming from the front.

Aaron, being a novice, didn't know what was going on. But he knew one thing for sure there was some kind of danger approaching him.

So he subconsciously began to run away. But before he could run even a hundred meters, he felt that those things behind him had already caught behind him.

Aaron immediately turned around with the slingshot fully loaded and aimed at the target. What amazed him was that the target that he aimed was a beautiful girl. But before he could even do anything, a sudden bolt of lightning strikes him out of nowhere.

Before losing consciousness, he only heard a boy's voice," F*cking Fallen, how dare you point your weapon towards Miss Alisa."

But unfortunately, Aaron was already dead; his face still showed a look of confusion until he was dead.

...

" What a sad death? I don't know the person name who killed you. But I will take the revenge on your behalf. So you can rest in peace."

As soon as Aaron said this to himself he felt a strange and comfortable feeling. A minute later he remembered that he still would have the slingshot and bullets. He hurriedly checked and found that they were indeed on him. Furthermore, there was also a bag made from the skin of some monsters.

He opened it and found that there were some dry fruits and a wooden bottle filled with water.

Seeing this he heaved a sigh of relief. Without the ration, he didn't even know how long it would take for him to get out of the Misty Forest.

Moreover, looking at the sky, he found that it was going to be evening soon.
