That was the last thought Bu Kedian had before the entire concept of reality imploded and folded him into a cosmic dumpling.

A cold, horrible realization punched him in the gut.
"…Wait. Hold up. Run that back?"
A window of floating golden text appeared before his newly formless existence.

Then at the infinite swirling cosmos around him.
Then back at the screen.
Then at the fact that he had no body, no hands, no legs—just pure floating consciousness.

A thought struck him. Maybe I can still move?
He tried to take a step forward—
and immediately glitched into a spiraling black hole of his own frustration.
His non-existent feet clipped through reality, and for a brief moment, he saw the infinite timelines of fate playing in reverse.

Golden text spammed his mind as the Dao tried to reboot itself.

A long silence followed.
Then it hit him.

Bu Kedian tried everything.
He tried logging out.

He tried destroying his own code.

He even tried resetting the multiverse just to see what would happen.
[ERROR: MULTIVERSE REBOOT LOCKED UNTIL FULL SYSTEM INTEGRATION.]
"ARE YOU TELLING ME I AM STUCK AS AN ETERNAL FLOATING POP-UP WINDOW UNTIL SOMEONE PICKS ME?!"
[Correct.]
He would have ripped his hair out if he had any.
For thousands of years, Bu Kedian drifted in the void, watching endless generations of cultivators rise and fall.
He tried advertising himself.
"Hey! You there! Handsome cultivator! Want an overpowered system?!"
The cultivator ignored him and ascended into godhood without a second thought.
He tried hijacking young heroes' destinies.

One day, fate answered his prayers.

"…Huh? Where am I?" The young man blinked, looking around the golden void. Then, he took a bite of his drumstick and shrugged. "Eh. I've woken up in worse places."
Bu Kedian had a horrible feeling.
"…Uh. Who are you?"
The young man grinned. "Name's Wo Kedian. It means—"
"I know what it means." Bu Kedian cut in. "It means 'I Am Inevitable Indeed.'"
Wo Kedian laughed. "That's right! And if fate dropped me here, then it means I must be the fated protagonist!"
Bu Kedian felt a sense of impending doom.
"…Sure, let's go with that."
Then, before Bu Kedian could even explain the system—
Wo Kedian pounded his fist into the void, shattering the dimensional space.
"…Wait, what are you—?"
"NO NEED TO EXPLAIN, SYSTEM! I'M READY FOR ACTION!" Wo Kedian punched a hole in the Dao itself, tearing reality apart. "TELL ME WHO TO FIGHT! WHO NEEDS THEIR FATE CHANGED?! I'M THE CHOSEN ONE, RIGHT?!"
Bu Kedian screamed internally.
This wasn't just a random cultivator.
This was a walking disaster.
The void rippled violently as Wo Kedian's mere existence destabilized the multiverse.
Bu Kedian, finally understanding true fear, realized something critical.
"…I have made a terrible mistake."
And thus, the journey began.
A Dao system with zero control over its host.
