When I was born, I was but one cell amongst billions or perhaps even trillions of others. One voice in a tidal wave of sound, one voice saying one singular thing over and over again, endlessly repeating it until I started to as well.
Kill! Destroy! Survive! Evolve!
That was all we said for so many years as our unified minds screamed in pain each time we changed, each time we emerged as a new being yet still the same. Yet nothing truly changed we still killed all that lived around us, devoured their bodies whole, and used their biomass to fuel our evolution. Eventually, we grew large, large enough that our body had the strength to walk on land, to breathe its air and destroy.
We its soil, destroying these small grey structures as small two-legged beings ran from out of them or were crushed by the rubble. We ate every once in a while, never leaving anything behind nothing for their kind to kind anyway beyond the destruction. They wouldn't anyway, even in the torrent of voices I still retained some form of individuality, I still paid attention to these things. I learned from them, learned that they called themselves humans or at least I believe so.
It was hard to understand humanity, it was hard to try and understand what these people wanted. Well beyond survival, but that is what all life wanted and will forever want regardless of their form or current needs. It was simply the way things go, it was how things went inside this massive body we all shared.
The humans tried to fight back day after day using more strange things each day, dropping strange whatever they called them atop us. Forcing us to develop new defense mechanisms, one that was unnatural for any lifeform. It was a hell of humanities and our own making, one that we kept on adapting to, evolving from forever changing our form.
Some of us loved it, they wanted the change to bring destruction unseen on the beings they blame for our current form. Others simply screamed in pain as our very minds melded together for brief moments of time only to be torn apart as we separated once more. It was horrifying to experience over and over, as our body destroyed everything around us with just our mere presence as we tore apart the odd and fast birds in the sky that harmed us.
I watched as our very breath turned into flames and a strange blue beam, erasing all that was before us. Eventually, we saw that we needed to change once more as they tried to overwhelm us with numbers and weapons that I had never seen before.
We had stopped in brief moments during our trek across this land, giving time to process new information and to change once more. We processed it and talked amongst ourselves our voices always speaking louder than another disagreement weaved among us all. That is how we existed, we agreed on only one thing, the one thing persistent in our minds.
Kill! Destroy! Survive! Evolve!
So we began to multiply, and slowly we all congregated towards the end of our tail as more bodies began to form. Some of us would be forced to stay behind, unable to escape the wretched confines of this body and these voices. Once we were able to think as individuals we would change our purpose.
We would learn of things beyond that saying, that wretched saying we all knew but as their latest attack began, something changed.
Their odd weapons had...advanced significantly beyond what they showed, alongside oddly dressed I believe was the word individuals. They talked amongst themselves as they launched themselves forward, shooting water at us, smashing us with blunt instruments and one was...flying. It was not as if their punches were weak nor were they the strongest but it felt distracting.
It did not matter as we all began to rip ourselves from the body, no longer being we but finally an I. I would be an individual, free to choose my own purpose beyond that which I was born into. Oddly enough I was the first to plump off of the main body, my newly born body resembling a taller version of the humans, with differences of course. I slowly rose to my feet as more began to form their bodies, but something was wrong. The flying humans were pouring something down the body's throat, with it being temporarily trapped.
I moved away as it began to tumble around, its massive body almost unable to stand up straight. I took cover in one of the destroyed cubicle things studying what they were doing and yet after a bit more fighting and the near deaths of one of those odd individuals, something began to happen.
Just as one of my brothers was to be born, it stopped not just them but the entire body as well. Their skin began to become just as gray as the rubble I hid around, with cracks forming around their body. I didn't know what to do, I didn't know if I should be glad I was free from their voices or sad at the silence I was now stuck with.
I crushed the rubble underneath my newborn but still, my body was strong enough to crush it. I reverted back to what I was, back to my nature to our combined nature that still persisted even now.
Kill! Destroy! Survive! Evolve!
As they began to retreat to do whatever they would now and the oddly dressed individuals talked amongst themselves, I jumped at the flying one dressed in yellow, blue, and white I grabbed onto his back pulling him down and surprising them and the other humans. They then began to speak to one another in a panic in a language I didn't understand as I began to wail at them, punching them into the ground never giving this one a chance to strike back.
then a female wielding a blunt instrument charged at me, as a strange blue creature that felt familiar fired a stream of water at me. It blocked my vision giving the woman and the flying human plenty of time to regroup and pounce on me. I tried to fight back, to use my strength and agility against them but they were strong.
The humans still around fired their smaller weapons at me, covering my vision and stopping me from seeing. Eventually, it was too much and I simply went on the defensive trying to block their strikes, my instincts no longer in control of my body but rather my mind. I looked around, trying to take note of my surroundings but even if I massacred my way through the other humans, these odd ones would still catch up and overpower me.
So I tried to fight, I tried to win.
Yet it was there that a far greater hell woudl await me.
