Armed with his sword, "Dawn's Edge," Lane set forth in search of the first relic—the Starlight Pearl, said to grant glimpses of the future. The Mist-Shrouded Forest, where it lay hidden, was known for its treacherous paths and eerie whispers.
There, Lane encountered Ivy, a fairy-like guardian of the forest. She offered to guide him on one condition: that he help her vanquish the Shadow Snake, a serpentine terror that had long plagued the woods.
The battle was swift and brutal. The Shadow Snake struck with viperous speed, but Ivy's enchantments slowed its attacks, giving Lane the opening he needed. With a decisive slash, Dawn's Edge cut through the beast's heart, ending its reign of terror.
Grateful, Ivy presented Lane with the Starlight Pearl. "Your path is long, but you are not alone. I will aid you," she vowed. And so, with a new ally by his side, Lane's quest pressed onward.
