"I am here!" Leviticus greeted while I am in his back, timidly roaming my eyes in the surroundings. Well inside is not that bad, but I am sure that these walls are made of woods. They maybe had a big chandelier in the ceiling but it is really... old. They have two grandstairs that divided the two floors and in the middle of the two grandstairs, I can see some bookshelves from where I am standing. They also have wait— is that a counter? Just like in bars in tv series? Where baristas doing their shows to impress customers with their drinks?
And I just realized that some wooden tables are scattered in this space, there are chairs also that made of wood as well. So, this is a guild.. bar?
"Oh, Levi! You're finally back!" A petite woman appeared and I was taken a back because of her beauty! She's wearing a white long dress while wearing nothing in her feet. She has long hair that almost touches her waist and her.. eyes! They are arctic blue just like the color of the waves from the ocean! She has this caucasian skin and with freckles on her cheeks. She's cute and beautiful!
"Yeah, I'm with someone." I shyly stared at the woman who's now staring at me too. Her curious eyes made me wonder if it's really okay that I am here.
Not until her eyes sparkled like she just saw a surprise gift, "oh my! Am I seeing things? Wait, is she a new recruit? Finally!" She joyfully said and then approached with extreme excitement. I already anticipated that things won't work that easily because I am from another world but looks like she likes me.
"Serene, she's from another world, she was reborn here. So don't be confused if she says something weird, she's kinda stupid." I wanted to pout but this girl's hands suddenly held my shoulders and then shook it a bit. I don't know but I suddenly felt comfortable with her. I just... I just like clingy people because for me, clingy people are the most lovely ones.
"Levi, you're bad, it's normal because she's not from here," she cutesly uttered and then check me from head to toe. "And I can't believe this! Levi, you already knew that reborn people from that world is considered as lucky! And I think we're now fortunate!" She added and then caressed my cheeks. I smiled at her a bit.
"Whatever, Serene. It's still depend on her if she wants to be with this place, you know, we are the weakest guild. And who knows, maybe she's rich in her previous world, we are poor here." Is he really that grumpy? He doesn't even know me but the way he uttered those words like he was really so sure about me!
I just didn't say anything anymore!
He stared at me that lasted seconds and then he stared back at his friend, "tell the others that I am here now, they don't have to look for me again." And then he walked away while his hands are in his back.
"Sorry about that, you know, he's just like that because he's kinda... cold. But I assure you that he's kind, he's just.. lost." I stared back again at the woman in front of me, Serene. Her voice is so soft and her face feature is like an hollywood actress that I am watching in tv.
"Yeah, he just saved me from criminals an hour ago, I guess."
"Crimi— what?" She frowned but she just softly chuckled after. "Right, your words. Anyways, welcome to this world by the way! Please let me introduce myself formally." She smiled and then grabbed my hands and then held them. Her hands are so soft. I wonder what power she can wield. "I am Serene, I am the secretary of the Guild Master of White Fin. Nice to meet you!" She joyfully introduced, I smiled.
"I'm Aliyah, and thank you.. for welcoming me. I mean, things are still confusing especially my unexpected death in my previous world. But yeah, thank you, S-Serene." I uttered back, she smiled at me so sweet and that made my heart fluttered because I felt like I am now welcomed. At least she's not grumpy just like Leviticus. He's cold, yes, but I can sense that he's kind just like what Serene told me.
If he's not kind, he could just leave me in that dangerous forest.
"I feel sorry for your death, Aliyah, but don't worry, in this world... we will take care of you. Since you're new here, I can be your guide. And we can be friends, as well!" She is so cheerful and high-spirited woman, I think we can understand each other! It looks like we'll get along, huh?
In my previous world, I don't have close friends. When I was still in my school covering my head with a cloth because I don't have hair anymore that time, even a strand, my classmates are so distant of me. They were stare at me disgustingly, thoughts that I will spread sickness in our room, I felt so belittled. Teachers pitied me but I will just smile at them before and will tell them that I'm okay, that someday, I'll get use into it. Not until my cancer reached staged 3, hospital became my school and became my.. home. I wish nothing but to be healthy and be cured, then will befriend many people if I get discharge. But looks like God has plans, that He killed me in that world and then reborn me in this strange world.
Luckily, I can talk properly, I can run and walk and I can even shout. Fortunately, I am not sick here.
"S-Serene," I softly called her name.
"Yes, Aliyah? Wait, your name sounds cool, do you still remember all of your memories in your previous world?" I gradually nodded.
"Y-Yes, I can still remember them." I responded. "Ahm, yeah, I just want to clarify a thing i-if that's okay with you."
"Yes, shoot it. Don't be shy." She joyfully uttered back and that made me feel a bit of embarrasment and.. a bit of joy.
"C-Can you really be my friend?"
