Chapter 43 - Chapter 0043: Initial Skill Display

The three wild boars were quite confident in their speed, seemingly not expecting Di Ping to dodge with ease. They ended up crashing into a parked vehicle on the roadside. Though they sent the vehicle flying, they too were affected by the impact, shaking their heads repeatedly from the collision.

"What a chance!"

Di Ping, seeing the opportunity, was elated. The boars were only five or six meters away, the perfect distance for an attack. He couldn't afford to hesitate—if not now, when?

"Charge!"

With no time to spare, he activated his Charge skill. His entire body surged with energy, his muscles tensing like a drawn bow. He propelled himself forward with a powerful thrust of his legs, causing rocks and debris to scatter in all directions. His body shot forward like a streak of light, leaving only a blur in his wake. It seemed as if space itself had no effect on him. In an instant, he appeared in front of one of the wild boars. He angled his body slightly, with his elbow leading the attack, striking the boar squarely in the chest.

"Boom..."

The sound of the impact was like a giant drum being struck.

"Aaaah..."

The boar let out a pained scream, propelled by the force as if struck by a speeding train. It flew several meters, crashing into a nearby tree, which shook violently upon impact. The boar slid down the trunk, its body limp on the ground, blood flowing from its mouth and nostrils, convulsing before finally going still.

Di Ping stood frozen in shock, unable to believe the intensity of the impact. The perfect combination of speed and power had produced such a result. During the strike, it felt as though all of his energy had been concentrated in his elbow and side. The sheer force of the blow only left him with a slightly numb sensation in his side, but there were no injuries. It seemed his body's defensive capabilities were also greatly enhanced by the force.

"Aaaah..."

Just as Di Ping was momentarily stunned, the remaining two boars, seeing their companion fall, became enraged. Their eyes filled with bloodlust as they howled and charged toward him, intent on tearing him apart.

After witnessing the power of his own attack, Di Ping realized that his strength had surpassed his expectations. The giant wild boars were no longer a threat. No longer fearful, a surge of battle spirit ignited within him.

"Come!"

With a mighty roar, he charged at the two boars, his eyes filled with excitement. The clash seemed inevitable. Just before impact, Di Ping suddenly leapt, soaring over the two boars, leaping more than two meters in the air. He knew the boars' tusks were dangerous, and a direct collision would likely result in injury. Taking advantage of their momentary misstep, he avoided their charge.

The boars, realizing they had missed their target, skidded to a halt, their hooves screeching on the ground as they dug into the earth. The path was left covered in flattened grass.

They quickly pivoted, trying to turn and charge again. However, Di Ping had already anticipated this. Without giving them a chance to regain their footing, he moved in with another swift attack.

"Slash!"

His muscles rippled with power as he delivered a lightning-fast strike with his sword, which hummed with energy. It seemed to defy space itself, striking the neck of one boar with the force of a thunderclap.

"Thud."

The blade sank in with a quiet sound, and the boar's neck split open, blood pouring out as the creature let out a shrill cry, retreating in pain, leaving a trail of blood behind.

"Aaaah..."

The second boar, undeterred by its companion's injury, lunged at Di Ping with an open maw, its sharp tusks gleaming like steel. Di Ping had grown accustomed to the rhythm of battle. With quick reflexes, he dodged the boar's snap and immediately retreated.

"Boom..."

The boar's teeth clashed together with a deafening sound, capable of splitting even steel. Di Ping's heart raced as he narrowly avoided the strike.

"Aaaah..."

The injured boar, its pain driving its fury, charged again, its eyes filled with madness.

At this moment, Di Ping was off-balance, unable to dodge in time. He gritted his teeth and swung his sword to meet the charge.

"Bang!"

The sword struck the boar's head, but to his surprise, the boar's skull was far tougher than expected. The sword merely left a white mark, and the boar barely flinched, though the force of the blow pushed it back. Di Ping, too, was shaken by the tremendous recoil, his hand going numb as he staggered back.

He hadn't anticipated such a difference in damage between his regular strikes and the skill-based attacks. The Slash skill had previously torn open a nearly one-foot-long wound on a giant boar with ease, but this time, even the boar's tough defenses couldn't be breached. Clearly, skill-based attacks utilized his strength far more effectively, enhancing his combat abilities significantly.

Still reeling from the impact, Di Ping had no time to recover as the second boar rushed toward him, its tusks aimed straight at him.
