Chapter 39 - Epilogue

Epilogue

Last night I dreamed about the past, or so I think. More than a dream it seems like it was a memory of a distant past or future where I was summoned, something very distant from where I am now. A dark-skinned woman tied my hair with a red ribbon. A ribbon with which I was now summoned, and that when I look at it produces a feeling of sadness, melancholy and abandonment that runs through my whole body, a sensation that my body in rehabilitation cannot understand why I feel it. But that was not the only dream I had, I also dreamed of that dark-skinned woman, who held my hands tightly on a hot night while we slept at the mercy of the stars. That dream was very real and my body felt far from my usual strength. A dream that makes me wonder who is that woman who awakens such an oppressive feeling inside me.

---------------------------------------------------------------

A loud whisper is heard. Magic runs through my body as it materializes. I'm on a four, on a four...? I'm not familiar with this type of decoration as far as I can see. A black mirror and a little further down from it you can see a strange square shape where you can see different letters of a language that is Spanish. Some strange paintings are noticeable on the wall, but with an unusual precision in the drawing, almost as if it weren't handmade. I look ahead and see my "summoner", the person who pulled me from the root of magic, who I can't remember. She seems a little surprised to see me, as if she didn't expect her spell to work.

—!...¡—a strange sensation runs down my spine, I walk towards the window and part the curtains—!...¡—I see a very amazing landscape before my eyes.

<> . Yes, that would be the correct way to call them, although each one exceeds the size of the largest building I saw in life, or that I remember better said. A building that seemed to reach the sky itself and surpass it. <> my mind tried to find a name for what my eyes saw.

—!Skyscraper!—I look at my supposed summoner—.Skyscraper—I point towards the building.

I feel a little silly doing this, it was as if a child were learning to speak, although my greatest intrigue was not towards that construction. It was a sensation that ran through my whole body, as if I were searching for something. A feeling that tells me a name over and over again <> a name that no matter how hard I try to remember I can't. A feeling oppresses my chest, but I hide it.

"Are you my summoner?" I look at the girl with pigtails, who still looks a little confused. "So?"

—!Ahahaha!—a nervous scream comes out of her, she begins to step back, colliding with that strange dark mirror—.!It worked, it worked, it worked!—she repeated the same word over and over again, although she still looked nervous.

In a few seconds she recovered, adjusted her skirt, and tried to compose herself so as not to give a bad first impression. <<... She didn't succeed>>. I leaned towards her and put my hand on her shoulder, she looked very bristling when I did so.

—Calm down, Hmm—I try to seem as friendly as possible, but she gets even more nervous—... Do you want to eat something?—<>

—S-sure—he smiles a little more.

—In a cafeteria.

This was more familiar to me. "A coffee shop," a concept I know better, although the atmosphere was pleasant and the view through the exit mirrors gave onto a beautiful natural view, something new to add to my list. The girl who had summoned me is called "Natali lonser feri" <> I think as I listen to her. She was a sorcery apprentice who tried to make a direct invitation from the root of magic, which worked out very well for her based on my own experience.

—!I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!—His apology seemed very sincere, but it attracted people's gazes.—I had no idea that it was actually going to work—he puts his hands on his head.—!Ah, what am I going to do?

I touched his forehead with one of my fingers.

—Eh—he didn't understand my gesture.

—Don't worry—I look outside still feeling that sensation in my chest, one that felt closer and closer—. I like this place—I affirm with a smile.

If it weren't for the discomfort of my thoughts, this place would seem perfect. But that feeling makes me look outside insistently, searching for something I don't understand. I don't understand why my hand goes to my chest, why it hurts me and bothers me.

"Are you okay?" my summoner asks worriedly.

—Yes—I didn't take my gaze off the glass—. I just like the view—a weak smile comes out of me—... Rin, by the way—now I look at her—. Rin is my name.

—Rin?—he tries to think of that name—. I don't know him.

A faint smile escapes me, but the feeling grows closer, almost as if he were watching me from the outside. I pick myself up and quickly walk out of the store. I quickly look around, even though I don't understand why. I look for someone, but there are many walking along the sidewalks and in the park across the street.

 <>

I keep looking around, the crowds seem to grow larger as I can't find the person I'm looking for. My summoner touches my shoulder, bringing me out of my trance.

—Seriously, are you okay?—she seems worried.

—... Yes—I look more slowly in all directions—. Just...—my summoner looked confused.

—You're not used to modern things—he stops touching my shoulder—. Hmm, I know!—he grabs my hands—. Would you like to go see the city?—he says extrovertedly.

—Of course—a smile appears on my face.

—Hours later.

Shops, an arcade, McDonald's, something called a "cinema" which is like a theater, but seen through a screen, it feels like a spell of illusion, but from a different perspective. Right now we are in the "subway", which seems to be a place where people are transported in strangely shaped metal carriages. We get in and I can't deny that I was a little scared by the exaggerated speed at which it was traveling. 120 km seems like little for these people, but for me it's a lot for this metal carriage. The train was full and the sky through the windows of this place was cloudy. The speed slowly decreased as we passed in front of another train. The people inside were crowded, and too close for my liking. The windows passed in front of each other, while the trains at a safe distance continued on. The feeling in my chest felt more oppressive for some reason. I close my eyes for a moment and touch my chest. I open my eyes and...

—!...¡—a girl.

A girl with green eyes, blonde hair, tied with a thread that formed a ponytail. A red thread, which lit up my expression of surprise, which was returned by the attractive girl who looked back at me in the same way.

 <>

The desperation to stop the damn thing makes me believe I'm jumping off it. That if it seemed fast to me before, now I consider it too slow, more than a turtle. That bar, that bar I remember. I remember it perfectly, I put it every morning on that girl who lurks in my dreams. The train stops suddenly and my first instinct is to get out of that place. I run, I don't know the streets, but I run. With a speed that brings me closer and closer to that feeling. The raindrops ran down my body, which on the outside was cold, but on the inside it burned with great force. I run without looking back. I reach a street that was at the side of a large meadow, which was divided by a weak metal fence. In front of me I also see the said girl. Her breathing was also noticed agitated and her heart racing.

 <>

I move a little closer, keeping some distance between her and me. That sorrow that had been accompanying me disappears, that sadness, that melancholy, that fear, everything disappears when I see her, although I still don't remember where I know her from or what the reason is for feeling that way. I recover in a short time, I gather the courage that I was lacking, for some reason, and I ask.

"Do I know you?" I ask.

"I don't know," she replies, taking off the ribbon and letting her hair fall loose. "I think I know you too... But I don't remember where from." She fixes her hair.

—My–My name is Rin…—my cheeks turn red and I don't understand why tears start to flow down my cheeks, tears of such happiness that flood my entire being and feed my spirit.

My pulse quickens and my heart beats faster. The image of that girl evokes something in me, a familiar feeling. "But where from?" I repeat to myself.

—W—What's your name?—I ask nervously.

The girl's tears also began to flow, tears that accompanied a smile that appeared on her face. It seemed the violent air and the rain had left our minds.

—My name...—the girl notices she's blushing—. You can call me crazy, but I don't understand this feeling of trust I have in you. I mean, I don't even know you—she notices she's blushing as she looks directly into my eyes.

 — My name is Sherlock Holmes—

END.
