Chapter 1 - REborn

Have you ever given a thought about death? I used to think that when people die, they just go dark or they restart, forgetting everything and starting over, making different choices and turning the course of their previous lives. But!! I guess I was wrong. Turns out when we die, we actually reincarnate into other worlds as animals or perhaps, things like, ancient vases, swords and stuff. Or even, as humans, gods, demons, demon-gods....the possibilities are endless. Usually, the reincarnates loose their memories and a very few exceptional beings get to keep theirs. Remember, not everyone in that other world is a reincarnate.

[Let me explain how I got here, in the first place]

....CLEVERLAND SCHOOL....

"Dayisi, Dayisi, get up the teacher is almost in class." Those were the last words I heard before a group of terrorists invaded my school and man-slaughtered everyone including me.

Currently, I'm seeing colours moving very fast pass me. *Blackout*. I open my eyes and I'm in the woods, trees all around me and a carriage, moving away quite fast. I try getting up, but I keep stumbling over. I then decide to look around and at myself … (I feel little and weird)…I raise my hand to look at it.

"OMG, I'm just some months old", I thought. I start to wonder what a month old baby, would have done to be thrown out of the carriage. I hear heavy breathing rhythms behind me and the hot air from it touches my neck. Hmphmp! immediately, beads of sweat begin to form on my forehead. Next thing I know, I'm in a fighting stance, looking directly at an ugly, hungry faced, six foot tall man-faced wolf….(I'm a baby ….this wolf is quite tall to me). I bolted instinctively on legs I couldn't even stand properly on before. This wolf was chasing me. I just had to trust my legs to do the job while I thought of a plan. I see a hole on my left side about 50m away. I headed there and not thinking twice, jumped in.

I heard this man-faced wolf, hovering around and sniffing the hole. I held my breathe…..After a while, I heard the wolf howl in fear, as it run away. I was very intrigued and wondered, what would scare such a creature. A question to be answered soon. I decided to peek out of the hole, a decision I know I might regret but either way, I went ahead to. I saw a big bird just flying above the trees. It's feature, I couldn't make out. But my instincts were telling me to get out of there. Witnessing how it circled around, I wondered why. It was then I looked below me, only to see giant eggs, thrice as big as me. Getting out of the hole, I was quiet as possible and dashed away.

RUMBLE!!! "Oh damn, I'm hungry. Just a small burst of adrenaline, has made me this hungry", I thought. *Sigh*. A delicious looking squirrel, in front of and staring at me….haaaa…. a stone in my hand, I throw it at it. My squirrel meal span and kicked the stone to hit my head. *Shit*. It's getting dark. THUD!!!

I wake up to the rumbling of my stomach. I try to stand but my legs hurt. I begin to stagger, but regardless, I make a walk till I chanced on a river. As I approach it, I make an effort to reach it faster. Reaching it, I kneel down and dip my head into it, filling my tummy with as much water as I could drink. I tried taking some fishes from the river but they kept on slipping from my hands, after trying multiple times. Finally, I pick one fish and falls on the ground, after some struggles. I laughed as I saw the fish jumping miserably. Hahaha. Oh this fish has suffered…..I'll relieve it then. Immediately, I pushed the fish and it stopped moving. I began ripping it open and started eating it raw. After eating it, I toss it's bones into the river. Immediately, the bones became larger and the organs began to form. Just after this formation, the flesh formed back in a matter of seconds.

I began wondering if it was the fish that had the ability to regenerate or the water that did the trick. I then got another fish despite going through a lot of suffering. Guess what? I killed that one too and ate it. I used it's bone to pierce my finger for me to bleed. I then threw that fish's bones back into the water, just like the first. But this time, also dipping my hand into the water. I felt a soothing sensation as the pain faded away.

The colour of the water started to change into a faint gold glow, which after a while, disappeared to restore the normal colour of the water. It then came to my realization that the water was indeed the magician….[J] I mean the water actually has the ability to heal and regenerate.

["I think I'll just stay here for ten years then", I thought with a wide grin.]

I picked up a pointed stone and made a mark on the tree next to me, to indicate my first successful day in the woods.

I saw an empty bird nest on a tree, climbed it and made myself comfortable in the nest as well as thinking of my past life. I also thought about how I died. My friends...could they have reincarnated here as well? I hope I meet them if they did...and those were the last things on my mind as I drifted into sleep.

I open my eyes to the beautiful but bright morning. I get up from the bird nest and slid down the tree. I walk to the river, dipped my face into it and drank some water. I didn't know why but no matter how much I drank, I still didn't feel full. After drinking about a gallon or so, I just felt this cool sensation, as if have been refreshed. As usual, I was hungry. I caught a few fishes, ate them and threw their remains back into the water. After the meal, I walked around in the woods but making sure I didn't go too far from the river….just exploring. I really admired how wonderful the trees were looking as well as their fruits, looking radiant and delicious. I took a stone from the ground and threw it toward a radiating black cocoa-looking fruit. But the stone went nowhere near the fruit. I tried a couple more times but these efforts were futile. So I just left it. Oh no….. I couldn't get them. Well, I could exert my revenge on the fish. Radiant fruit,...I will be back.

After that, I went walking and exploring in the woods. Enjoying my pleasant sight, I came upon that same man-faced wolf, from before. How did I know, you say? This was due to the fact that the wolf was smiling and giving me a greedy look like it wanted me all to itself.

Unlike our first encounter, my adrenaline did not kick in. I had to do it manually, this time.* [in case you're wondering what, I was running]*. I was moving slower than previously and the wolf was right behind me. And anytime I turned back, that nasty grin was on it's face. I saw a tree that looked suitable for me to climb. That's when my adrenaline decided to kick in. I had then become quite faster and gapped the wolf, climbed the tree and sat on one of it's trunks. The shocking thing about all this was that, I wasn't even panting or feeling tired and my leg muscles were not feeling fatigued like before. [the shocking thing is not me being a baby].

The wolf began howling and circling the tree rapidly. In what felt like 2 hours, it disappeared without a trace. I got down from the tree around dusk and headed to the river.

Immediately I got there, I removed my clothes, soaked it in the river and dried it on the tree I sleep on and then jumped into the river for a bath. The river had shone a blue ray of light with white sparkles, resembling the night sky. I was amazed and thought as to why at dusk, the water would have a night glow. All of a sudden, I began to feel very cold. I try getting out of the water but I had swam a bit too far to get back to land. Also, I was too short to step on the river floor. [it was about 4 feet deep]. The glow in the water started to disappear and the chill I was feeling began to fade as I started feeling warmer. I had a strange feeling after that as if I was a bit connected to the river or something like that. After the bath, I caught 5 fishes, killed and ate them. Guess what's next.... I threw their bones back into the river J.

It really felt weird being naked in the woods alone so I climbed the tree and realized I hadn't marked the second day. Hmmm, like seriously? I just had to climb back down to mark it and climbed back up.
