Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - The Treasure Hunter

"Ahhh!!!" Opening his eyes, Zion remembered blowing up alongside the monsters he meant to kill. He patted his body, feeling himself still intact. "How the fuck-"

"That was an honorable sacrifice, something that can even move someone like me to tears." A voice called out.

"Holy shit!" Zion looked up, startled, to see a woman in a white toga adorned with gold jewelry. Her long golden hair and eyes matched her beauty, and her figure was stunning—unlike anyone he'd ever seen. Her breasts were so large it looked like they would spill out of her outfit.

"Woah, hello there beautiful. I'm Zion, a warrior of-" He paused and looked at the hand he had stretched out for a handshake. What greeted him was a transparent silhouette ghost-like hand instead of normal flesh.

"What the fuck!"

"Hahahahaha!! Hello Zion, my name is Luminera, Goddess of Light, fertility, gold, and life. I have an offer for you that only a fool would pass up."

Zion however was still in shock. He was looking at his transparent body, confused about what had happened to him.

'Am I in the anti-matter universe or something?' He thought to himself.

Luminera frowned as she didn't like how she was ignored, even if it was unintentional on Zion's part.

"Look mortal, you died and are currently in your soul form. Normally, you would undergo the natural reincarnation cycle, get your memories wiped, clean your soul, blah, blah, blah, but I pulled you from that cycle to make a deal with you."

"Y-Your God?" He asked, his eyes widening with shock.

"No, I'm a god—one of millions, maybe more. We don't have much time, so let's keep this brief. I broke the rules and pulled you from the reincarnation cycle. Now, I need your help with something. If you agree, I'll send you to a magical world with your memories intact and help you save your old one."

The moment he heard he could save his world, Zion was sold. He didn't care what she'd ask of him—who would turn down being reincarnated, retaining their memories, and saving their world? The magic was just a bonus.

"I'll do it!" He said without hesitation.

"I didn't even explain what I need help with." She smiled, ammused by his instant answer.

"Don't care. If I can save my world, then I'm sold. Plus, magic could be really helpful if I'm able to learn it. Whatever you want, I'll do it!"

"Well, this makes things easier." She snapped her fingers and a chain appeared on his transparent soul which then connected to Luminera.

"This is a soul chain. It binds two people in a contract. If you ever try to go back on your words and betray me, you'll die, so you have to complete my request or die trying." She said with a sinister grin, wondering if Zion would get scared a bit.

"Sounds good. What do I need to do?" He asked, not being fazed one bit.

"You see, I'm trapped here in this void, barely able to use my power. The people who did this to me are the ones I need you to kill. Of course, you can't kill them now since you're weaker than an ant, so you'll have to get stronger."

"Understood. Who do I need to kill?"

"Just five people. The gods of each race of the world I'm about to send you to." She giggled.

Zion nodded his head while taking in the information. But then something didn't sit right with him.

"Wait! Did you say, Gods?!" He panicked

"That's all for now. Have fun in the new world. Oh, and look for the Ancient Relics; they will help you with your journey. I'll be watching you, goodbye." She snapped her fingers and his soul started to disappear.

"Wait! What do you mean Gods?! How the hell am I supposed to fight against Gods?! I take it back, I don't wanna be reincarnated! Wait! NOOOOOOOOO!!" His soul completely disappeared, vanishing from the spot.

"This makes number six hundred sixty-six. Hopefully, I can finally leave this place this time. I hope the extra thing I added to his soul will aid in his quest. Sigh." Luminera closed her eyes and went to sleep.

---

A soft chuckle escaped Zion's lips as he remembered the conversation he had with the goddess who reincarnated him. Since the moment he was able to walk, Zion made it his mission to gain as much knowledge and power to complete his task.

'I still find it fascinating how this world has so much magical knowledge, yet the science is super behind. I've been working on combining magic with technology for weapons. Maybe I should make a toilet or something. My god, I need a flushable toilet.'

Arriving at the cellar, Zion found a man in his late 30s shackled on all four limbs, battered and bloodied. His legs were broken, and he groaned in pain with each labored breath.

"You must be Carl, the famous treasure hunter. It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Zion Zagan, heir to the Zagan Dukedom."

Carl's eyes widened and he shifted in the cell.

"Please, don't get up." Zion mocked. "It won't be good for your legs."

"Fuck you!" He cursed

"Heh, let's get down to business. Where's the map for the Ancient Relics?" Zion asked, his voice laced with coldness.

"You think I'll tell you?! Especially after your people beat me to a pulp?!" The chains clanked as Carl yelled in anger.

"I do actually, and you're going to tell me." With the subtle clenching of his fist, an invisible energy grabbed Carl's throat, choking him brutally.

"If you don't want to die, I suggest you start talking. You have a family, don't you? I'm sure you don't want to see them get hurt, right." Zion had no plans on being the good guy here. If he wanted something, he was going to get it, regardless of the things he had to do in the process.

These relics Zion was looking for were something Luminera told him to find. They were powerful weapons that were forged during the battle against the demons who resided in the underworld and the angels who resided in the upper world

He didn't know how helpful they would be, but he did know that their power was so great, that even after 10,000 years, no weapons were forged to the same caliber.

That was because the weapons were created with the combined might of the Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Beastkin, Dragons, and Angels to combat the Demons.
