Synopsis
Everyone mocks the blood slave Evan, thinking he's a cowardly fool who charmed Derek with his looks and rose in status by his physical allure. But who would have thought that this beauty, sneered at for climbing the social ladder, was once the beloved of William, the leader of the Holy Blood Knights, and that he himself was once a glorious and loyal knight.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"We were afflicted in every way, but not crushed;

perplexed, but not driven to despair;

persecuted, but not forsaken;

struck down, but not destroyed."

Years and years later, an old man in the Paladin Order was kneeling in the room and reading the past revelations aloud.

The weather that day wasn't very good. It was overcast outside.

He had originally wanted to read the well-preserved Book of Revelation alone in this house and reminisce about the work he had done as a member of the Paladin Order in his prime.

However, that kid was already knocking on the door then.

So the old man walked over and opened the door with a kind smile.

Behind the old man was this small, warm room with a carpet.

There were still two embroidered portraits hanging on the wall of the room.

The kid was watching his grandfather open the door with his watery eyes.

The old man kindly stepped sideways.

The child saw the thick books on the table and the portraits on the wall.

"What's that?"

The innocent child raised his hand and pointed at the portrait on the wall.

The two portraits depicted figures from the dark Middle Ages when vampires ran wild.

One showed Derek, the leader who had ruled the night then.

The other was of William, the most dazzling leader of the vampire hunter group in that era.

In these two imposing portraits, there was the same graceful figure behind them.

The child stared at the same figure in the two portraits, his eyes wide with admiration and affection.

He had never seen such a good-looking big brother before.

"He was as beautiful as mom!"

The child bit his finger and stared at the common man appearing in the portrait.

The little boy walked over and tugged at his grandpa's sleeve, asking:

"Grandpa, who was this big brother as beautiful as Mom?"

"He was so beautiful, so beautiful. He had long, curly silver hair. His eyes looked so gentle!"

"His eyebrows were thin and curved. His lips were thin, just like flower petals…"

"But why wasn't the big brother smiling?"

The little boy asked his grandfather:

"He looked so melancholy, his clothes were so beautiful and he looked so noble. Why wasn't he happy?"

The old man followed the child's gaze and looked at the portrait.

"This person was called Evan," the old man said as he looked at the extraordinarily beautiful man in the portrait.

The little boy, just like everyone who had seen this portrait for the first time, was fascinated and looked at the man in it.

"Evan, why weren't you happy?"

The old man smiled calmly.

Everyone who had seen these two portraits had liked this figure so much when they didn't know who Evan was.

"He was a very pitiful person." the old man said.

"Poor? Why was this big brother pitiful?"

Children at this age still didn't understand many complicated things. The world was black and white to them.

They couldn't figure out why someone so good-looking would be pitiful.

His grandfather replied:

"Even though I'm already old now, and even after all these years,

I've always heard my comrades say that Evan was such a debauched man. He had had entanglements with so many people and he had used his angelic face to do the most underhanded things. "

"But I've never believed those words."

"I still think that all the rumors about him and his tragedies all stemmed from these two men in the portrait."

"That was during the Middle Ages."

It was about the war between the vampire lord Derek and William, the commander of the knight order.

And behind them, there had also been a love story about that person.
