Episode 2: The Unfinished Symphony
The city was alive with neon lights and the distant hum of traffic, yet inside Jihoon's dimly lit studio, the world felt eerily silent. His fingers hovered over the piano keys, hesitating. That melody—the one that had haunted him for years, the one he had never played for anyone—had been on her lips before he even touched the piano.
How?
A shiver crawled down his spine as he closed his eyes and let his hands move on their own. The notes poured out like a forgotten memory surfacing from the depths of his soul. Each chord was familiar, yet foreign, like a story half-written, waiting to be completed.
"You've been off lately."
Jihoon's fingers froze as Minseok, his best friend and manager, leaned against the doorway with crossed arms.
"More like lost," Jihoon muttered, running a hand through his hair.
"Is this about the girl from the café?" Minseok asked, his sharp eyes studying him.
Jihoon let out a dry laugh. "It's about the song, Minseok. She knew it. She was humming it before I played a single note."
Minseok's frown deepened. "Maybe she heard it somewhere?"
"Impossible." Jihoon's voice was firm. "I've never played it for anyone. Not even myself, not completely. It's always been...unfinished."
Silence settled between them, thick with unspoken thoughts. Then, Minseok sighed. "So what now? Are you going to find her?"
Jihoon looked down at the keys, his heartbeat a steady rhythm against the quiet.
"I don't think I have a choice."
