Chapter 9 - Skill Issue and a ‘Not Date’

Physical training class. Today's topic? Swordsmanship.

My enthusiasm? Non-existent.

I was sitting in the corner like a used water bottle, completely drained of energy and the will to live.

All around me, students were clashing swords, dodging attacks, and sweating their asses off while the instructor barked out orders. And me? I was about five seconds away from passing out.

Then, like a curse upon my soul, Amilya showed up.

"You may have defeated Julian, but that doesn't mean you can skip class."

I slowly turned my head to her, looking her dead in the eyes. "Lady, please. Just leave me alone. I'm having a bad day."

She scoffed. "That's what I've been having ever since you joined the academy."

I gave her a flat look. "Sounds like a skill issue."

Her eye twitched. "You little—!"

Before she could finish that sentence, Julian himself decided to strut over like he owned the place.

"Amilya, don't waste your time on someone so arrogant," he said, flipping his hair like some discount villain.

I rolled my eyes so hard they almost left my skull. "Why don't you shut the fuck up and mind your fucking business?"

Julian narrowed his eyes. "You better watch your tongue, commoner."

I stared at him blankly. "And if I don't?"

He clicked his tongue. "I won't waste my time on you." Then he turned to walk away, trying way too hard to look dramatic.

I smirked. "Aren't you ashamed of losing to a commoner with no magic?"

Julian froze mid-step.

Amilya inhaled sharply like I just committed treason.

The prince slowly turned his head toward me, veins popping out on his forehead. "What did you just say?"

I leaned back against the wall lazily. "I mean, think about it. All that noble blood, all that fancy magic, and yet you still got your ass beat. Kinda embarrassing, don't you think?"

Julian's eye twitched so hard I thought he was about to explode.

"I will have my revenge for the humiliation I faced," he snarled.

I waved him off. "Of course you will."

Amilya sighed, shaking her head. "You either have incredible courage, or you're just completely brainless to talk to a prince like that."

"Whatever. Not like I care."

She scoffed and walked away, probably off to be rich and noble somewhere.

I wiped my forehead dramatically. "Why the fuck is it so hot out here? I need a cold drink."

And then—

A cold drink appeared in my hand.

I stared at it for a solid three seconds.

"Mother. Fucker."

I held the bottle up and shook it violently. "I have no idea what the author has planned, but I already know I'm suffering."

Time for a quick recap of my miserable life:

Died? Good.

Reincarnated? Bad.

Enrolled in a magical academy? Even worse.

Made an enemy out of the prince and a noble girl? Of fucking course.

A fox girl tried to kill me last night? Typical.

A childhood friend I have literally zero fucking memory of?

Then, a horrifying thought hit me.

Wait.

Four characters have been introduced so far.

Three of them are female.

Is this a fucking harem story?

I looked up at the sky, flipping it off with both hands.

"Fuck you."

---

Somewhere in the Universe…

Julian clenched his fists so hard his knuckles turned white. "I will not tolerate this."

A butler beside him adjusted his gloves and bowed slightly. "May I suggest something, my lord?"

---

After a long-ass day of sweating, dodging nobles, and questioning my life choices, I was finally walking back to my dorm when—

"Leon~"

I sighed so hard I almost lost consciousness.

I turned around, and before I could react—

My face was buried in someone's chest.

Again.

"Can you stop clinging to me like this?" I groaned, prying myself free like a man fighting for his life.

Rin just smiled sweetly. "Why? Don't you like it?~"

I deadpanned. "No. I'm not."

She latched onto my arm like a parasite.

"It's been so long! We have so much to catch up on!"

"So?"

"So—let's go out this weekend! On a date!"

I paused.

"I almost forgot weekends even existed." "Fine."

Rin grinned. "Yay! It's a date then!"

"No, it's not. I didn't even know your name until this morning."

"You will soon enough.~"

"*Please let me go.**"
