After navigating winding roads, descending steep stairs, and walking through narrow alleys, Davis finally arrived at Ahmad Yani Street. From a distance, he could see the majestic 22-story luxury apartment building standing tall.
As he got closer, a security guard blocked his path. With a condescending look, the guard said, "Sorry, this is not a public place. This area is for the wealthy only."
Davis glanced at the nameplate on the left side of the guard's uniform that read "Security". He smiled slightly and said,
"Don't be arrogant. I own this building."
His voice was firm, without hesitation. Ever since he had trusted the Conglomerate System, his personality had drastically changed. Where once he was quiet and accepted insults in silence, now he dared to challenge without fear.
Hearing such an odd reply, the guard's anger flared. He raised his baton and threatened,
"If you don't leave, don't blame this stick if your arms and legs get broken!"
Hearing the words "broken arms and legs", Davis's anger boiled over. With a sharp look, he challenged, "Hit me if you dare."
The guard hesitated for a moment, sensing a tinge of fear in Davis's eyes, but his arrogance overshadowed his fear. He swung his baton quickly towards Davis's head.
However, for Davis, who now had newfound strength and mastered ancient martial arts, the attack was slow and easy to dodge. He effortlessly sidestepped and countered by hitting the guard's stomach.
Braaak...!!
The guard staggered back three steps until his back slammed against the apartment gate. He sat down on the ground, clutching his stomach as though it had been struck by a large rock.
Footsteps approached. The guard turned and saw the security chief coming, a look of relief spreading across his face.
"You're finished!" he said to Davis while struggling to get up.
"What happened, Muhlis? I heard a commotion from here," asked the chief, who had just exited the security room.
"It's him, Chief," Muhlis pointed at Davis.
"He tried to force his way in, and when I tried to stop him, he hit me."
The chief looked Davis up and down. His shabby appearance, with rags draped over his shoulder, didn't look like someone wealthy.
"Is what this guard said true?" asked the chief in a wise tone.
"He tried to kick me out and threatened to hit me. But I own an apartment here that my father just bought for me," Davis replied calmly, though there was a slight lie in his words.
The chief frowned, gave Davis another look, then said, "Can you show proof of ownership of your apartment?"
Davis lowered his bundle of cloth, opened it, and pulled out a folder. He handed it to the chief confidently.
Upon opening the folder, the chief's eyes widened.
"This... this is the certificate of ownership for the entire apartment building! Not just one unit, but the whole building is yours?"
His face immediately became tense. The person in front of him was no ordinary individual. The chief immediately bowed respectfully, "My apologies, Young Master. My name is Joni, I'm the security chief here. And regarding this man..."—he pointed to Muhlis—"he will be fired immediately."
Hearing this, Muhlis turned pale. He kneeled in front of Davis, begging, "Please, Young Master, don't fire me. My family needs my income. I promise I won't repeat my mistake."
Davis looked at him coldly and then said,
"You should have thought before acting. But fine, I'll give you one last chance. If your behavior is reported badly again, not only will you be fired, but I'll make sure you can't work anywhere!"
Muhlis trembled and nodded repeatedly, thanking him. Meanwhile, Chief Joni bowed deeply, "Thank you for your kindness, Young Master Davis. Please feel free to enter. All the facilities in this building are at your service."
Davis raised his chin gracefully, then walked through the large gates with his head held high.
Located in the Mayapada Banua Center integrated complex, Sky Pavilion is a luxurious apartment surrounded by shopping malls, offices, cinemas, hotels, and a convention center. This exclusive residence offers an unmatched five-star urban lifestyle for families and couples alike.
In the Sky Pavilion lobby, the atmosphere was tense. All eyes were on a middle-aged man rushing past the receptionists. He was Handoko, the manager of Sky Pavilion, known for his calm and authoritative demeanor.
"Who could make Mr. Handoko run like that?" whispered one of the receptionists curiously.
"Could the big boss be coming? If so, I need to dress more beautifully. Who knows, he might have a handsome son," replied her colleague, fixing her hair.
At the entrance, Security Chief Joni stood nervously, holding a document. His face was serious, and his eyes never left the entrance. When he saw Mr. Handoko running towards him, Joni quickly approached and handed over the document.
"Is what you said true, Joni?" asked Handoko, panting.
"I've confirmed it myself, sir. If you don't believe me, feel free to check this document," Joni replied, handing over the apartment ownership certificate.
Handoko's eyes widened as he read the contents of the document.
"The entire building... belongs to him?" he muttered in surprise. His gaze shifted to the young man who was casually leaning against the apartment gate. His shabby clothes and bundle of cloth showed no signs of wealth, but the document in his hand said otherwise.
Without wasting any time, Handoko quickly walked over to the young man and bowed respectfully.
"My apologies for making you wait outside, Young Master. My name is Handoko, the manager of Sky Pavilion. Please follow me."
Davis looked at Handoko with a flat expression. A small smile appeared at the corner of his lips. Without saying much, he followed Handoko to the private elevator located in the building's exclusive area. This elevator could only be accessed by building owners and the directors of Sky Pavilion.
Inside the elevator, the atmosphere was tense. Handoko stood stiffly, sweat running down his temple. He dared not speak, and his breathing was barely audible.
"There's no need to be so tense. Just consider me a normal person," Davis said casually.
Handoko only smiled awkwardly. "If he's a normal person, then what am I?" he thought to himself.
When the elevator doors opened on the 22nd floor, the cityscape unfolded clearly from the large glass windows.
"Unbelievable... This really feels like a dream," Davis murmured inwardly. He followed Handoko, who led him into the largest and most luxurious room in Sky Pavilion: the penthouse on the top floor.
Handoko bowed before excusing himself.
"If you need anything, Young Master, don't hesitate to contact me. Here's my business card."
Davis took the business card and nodded briefly. After Handoko left, he toured the vast room, filled with luxurious amenities: a mini bar with an exclusive drink collection, a private cinema, an elegant office space, and a large bedroom with a fully automated en-suite bathroom.
Davis tossed his bundle of rags onto the soft bed and jumped onto it.
"This is so different from that old shack... Living in luxury is certainly enjoyable," he said as he closed his eyes.
