"We hit Lab K-9 in five days," she said, voice steady as steel. "We go in through the drainage tunnels beneath the east wing. They're old, but they still lead straight to the cold-storage vault where the genome servers are housed."
The lights flickered in the war room.
Rain hit the iron ceiling like bones tapping on glass.
Leda stared at the map spread across the cracked metal table. "Five days? You think that's enough time to train your little nuke?"
Aurora didn't flinch. "He doesn't need training. He needs direction."
"You mean control."
"I mean choice," she said sharply. "He's not a lab rat. He's a person."
