Chapter 1: Traveling Through Goldfinger
The first rays of sunlight filtered through the vast forest, casting dappled light on the grass below. At that same moment, this brilliant light illuminated the face of a young boy lying on the ground. He rubbed his eyes and stretched, suddenly aware that his clothes felt loose.
Unable to contain himself, he sat up abruptly.
As he opened his eyes, he found himself surrounded by a lush forest. Looking down at his hands and feet, Ron's mouth twitched as he shouted in shock:
"What is going on?!"
His voice echoed through the woods, startling a flock of birds that flapped their wings and soared into the sky. Watching the birds, Ron stroked his chin and pondered:
"Pidgey? Am I in the world of Pokémon?"
Just as he was processing this thought, an electronic voice chimed in, reminiscent of Hatsune Miku.
"Ding! The host is in a stable mood. Let me explain the system."
Still lost in thought, Ron barely had time to react before the voice continued:
---
The System's Explanation
"Ding! The purpose of this system is to assist the host in becoming the world's number one Pokémon Master."
"By completing tasks provided by the system, the host can earn rewards and enhance their strength. Additionally, each subsystem is now accessible. The host can explore them at any time, and this system will explain everything."
At that moment, a virtual screen appeared before him.
"This screen can only be seen by the host. Slide your hand in the air to navigate it."
Ron combined the information in his mind with what he could see and deduced several key points:
1. He had seemingly traveled to the Pokémon world.
2. He had become younger, though he couldn't tell his exact appearance without a mirror.
3. He had gained an advantage—time travel, along with an incredible system.
However, Ron was the type of person who accepted things as they came; he didn't panic or overreact. Though he felt a bit of regret leaving his parents back on Earth, he had no idea how to return. Therefore, he resolved to take things one step at a time.
The interface displayed several categories:
Character Status
Pokémon Status
Mall
Lottery
Tasks
Recharge
Cheats
Skipping Character Status, he immediately opened the Cheats section to take a closer look.
"Why are there so few cheats?" Ron muttered.
---
Unlocking More Cheats
"Ding! Due to world rules, not all cheats can be accessed. The host can collect popularity points to unlock more cheats and may also discover new ones," the system clarified.
"How do I earn popularity points?" Ron inquired.
"Simple: be famous!" the system replied bluntly.
The currently available cheats included:
Gender Change (which he ignored immediately).
Double Movement Speed.
Enemy HP Display.
A Vending Machine that Guarantees a Win.
After confirming that activating cheats had no negative effects, he enabled all of them—except for gender change.
---
Character Status
Next, he checked his Character Status. A three-dimensional model of himself appeared, resembling his childhood self.
The detailed character sheet displayed:
Name: Ron (Luo Yangshuo)
Gender: Male
Age: 13
Height: 160 cm
Weight: 45 kg
Strength: 8
Stamina: 9
Intelligence: 10
Spirit: 10
(Note: The normal adult attributes in this world are around 10.)
Ron suddenly felt as if he were watching a low-budget RPG.
Just then, the system prompted him again:
"Host, you have an initial character gift pack to claim."
Grateful for the system's generosity, Ron clicked on the gift bag. Several items appeared before him:
Three sets of pure black clothing.
A backpack.
An ID card.
Eagerly, he changed into a fresh outfit and inspected his backpack. Inside, he found:
A tent and a sleeping bag.
Three one-piece pajamas.
An electronic navigation map.
Five Poké Balls.
A set of kitchen utensils.
Some local currency.
Examining his ID card, he noticed it was completely blank.
At that moment, the system prompted again:
"The host can freely choose their birthplace. The system will automatically register the host with the local household. However, once the region is selected, the host can only pick one of the three local starter Pokémon, and it cannot be changed."
---
Choosing a Region
Ron felt a moment of indecision—where should he start?
Knowing he could obtain one of the three regional starters, he focused on two options:
1. Charizard (via Charmander)
2. Greninja (via Froakie)
Both had powerful evolutions—Mega Charizard and Greninja's Bond Form—making them highly attractive choices.
After some thought, Ron asked, "System, where am I right now?"
"The host is currently in the Viridian Forest, located in Viridian City, Kanto."
Ron nodded. "I'll choose Kanto, and my initial Pokémon will be Charmander."
"Understood. Information input: Ron was born in Pallet Town, where both of his parents died. He has lived on his own since childhood, often receiving support from Professor Oak. He received his starter Pokémon, Charmander, from Professor Oak. Information input completed."
A rush of new memories flowed into Ron's mind. He was now fully integrated into this world. His identity certificate updated accordingly, and he found a Pokédex and Poké Ball in his backpack.
---
First Pokémon—Charmander!
"Ding! You have received the Pokédex, triggering a side quest: Collect Pokémon."
"Collect data on the remaining 146 Pokémon (excluding the five already recorded in Kanto). Reward: 10,000 diamonds, a set of evolution stones, 1 million Poké Dollars, and two cheat permissions. Additional rewards for registering Legendary Pokémon."
Ron's eyes lit up at the huge rewards.
He opened the Poké Ball, and a sturdy little Charmander appeared before him.
Charmander narrowed its eyes and smiled confidently upon seeing him.
Ron compared their heights—this Charmander was 80cm tall, significantly taller than the average 60cm Charmander.
He patted its head and said:
"Hello, Charmander. I will be your trainer from now on. You can call me Ron."
The little fire lizard nodded, raising its claws in a show of strength.
---
Checking Charmander's Status
Pokémon: Charmander
Level: 5
Gender: Male
Height: 80cm
Weight: 10kg
Ability: Blaze
Moves: Dragon Rush (Inherited), Scratch, Growl
An inherited Dragon move?!
Ron was thrilled. Dragon Rush was a powerful move, making his Charmander a cut above the rest.
After quickly browsing the mall, lottery, and recharge system, he sighed. He only had 2,000 Poké Dollars, and recharging cost a fortune.
Still, he had one free lottery spin.
With high hopes, he spun the wheel…
And, as expected, his luck was terrible.
At least he got one guaranteed Pokémon—Eevee.
Shrugging, he muttered:
"Guess my luck hasn't changed…"
