Synopsis
Sequel to "Surrounded by the Darkness of the Past" The day Leon first appeared at his dream boarding school, he felt an unexplained connection to this place. The corridors of the “Gilbert” high school seemed familiar to him, although he had never been there before. The longer he spent in this place, the more and more questions arose in his head. Something was wrong and only Leon could feel it. Every night, he had realistic dreams that seemed to be memories of his previous life. No one would believe him if he had not met a peer — Nadia, whose parents spent time in this place in their youth. Only she believes what Leon says, especially when he tells her about terrifying hallucinations — the sight of the young General, which causes him a terrifying fear. The boy falls into madness, which his parents do not believe him in. Unable to leave this place, he can only count on the help of his friend. The Darkness That Waited for many years, is coming to finally complete what he was unable to do in the past.

Chapter 1 - Prologue

Year 2013

Oliver looks with love in his eyes at two women who are his whole world. Sara, holding their child in her arms, is the most beautiful sight he wants to remember for a long time. Despite the nightmare they experienced a few years ago, that place helped them find their destiny.

After leaving the hell where they were held captive by the Nazis, the man suffered for many months, living by Sara's side as a friend. Only after coming to terms with the death of her first love, letting his soul go, did the woman understand that she was hurting herself.

The day she confessed her love to him and initiated a relationship gave them a new beginning. Now they are a happy couple with a wonderful daughter.

A smile appears on Oliver's face when the door to the room opens and his older brother, Erik, enters.

- I came to visit my beautiful niece - he says, approaching Sara. The woman hands him her daughter, and at that moment Erik sees only the child.

- Who would have thought that our life would be like this? - he says, making funny faces at Nadia.

- It's true, a few years ago, we thought we were going to die - says Oliver, grimacing as painful memories return for a moment.

Sara looks at one point for a long time, then speaks:

- This is all our painful past, but Erik, have you heard that there was an investor who wants to turn this place into a prestigious and private boarding school?

The young man looks at her with a surprised look.

- Seriously?

- This place is famous. The whole country knows what happened there. I think it will attract crowds. The person knows what he's doing - says Oliver.

- Despite everything, I wouldn't want our daughter there - declares Sara, looking at her with tenderness in her eyes, while she is still in Uncle Erik's arms.

Oliver nods to his wife.

- I understand what you went through there, but remember that the entire nightmare ended with the General's death. The area is beautiful, and it will definitely be safe there now - declares Erik, handing his daughter over to Sara.

- It won't be safe for someone who can see paranormal phenomena - says the woman, referring to herself. - I just hope Nadia didn't inherit it in her genes. I wouldn't want her to see something that others can't. It can destroy lives.

Oliver approaches his wife and puts his arm around her.

- I think that not every generation inherits it in their genes. I wouldn't want our child to be cursed with this gift, either.

Wanting to change the mood, which has become gloomy, Erik starts a new topic:

- Sara, I think you won't see your nasty little sister for a long time - he says, showing his teeth in a wide smile.

- What did you do to her? - asks Oliver, rubbing his eyebrow and glancing at his brother out of the corner of his eye.

- I broke her little heart, she probably won't have the strength to keep trying to destroy your marriage.

Sara sighs.

- Brother-in-law, you'll never change.

- It's my nature - he replies, then goes back to making faces, teasing the child.

Oliver shakes his head at this news, but he's happy that he has a family. When he was alone... he suffered mercilessly.
