Chapter 5 - Chapter 5

Adam sat alone in his dimly lit chamber, his back against the cold metal wall. His long black hair, now reaching past his shoulders, was damp with sweat. His body had grown leaner, more defined, no longer the weak and fragile boy he once was. He was taller now, standing at 5'11", and his once-soft features had sharpened, his pale skin making the deep blue of his eyes stand out even more. The dark circles under his eyes had only deepened over the years, a testament to the endless torture disguised as training.

Four years.

Four years of nothing but pain, battle, and the dark whispers of his master. He was only 14 when he go here now he was 18 a young man compared to the boy he was before.

Sidious had kept him locked away in this facility, a place Adam wasn't even sure was on Coruscant anymore. He had never stepped outside, never seen the sun, never even breathed fresh air. Every moment of his life had been dedicated to training, to refining his connection to the dark side, to ensuring that his body and mind became weapons of absolute destruction.

And yet, despite all that time, he still wasn't free.

He wasn't sure if he ever would be.

Adam leaned his head back against the wall, exhaling slowly as he closed his eyes.

He knew Sidious and Dooku were planning something.

He had overheard their discussions, though neither of them ever spoke freely in his presence. But he wasn't stupid. He had listened. He had watched.

The name *Sifo-Dyas* had been spoken more than once.

Adam had nearly frozen when he heard it the first time.

He remembered that name from the movies.

Sifo-Dyas—the Jedi Master who ordered the creation of the clone army.

The army that would eventually become the instrument of the Jedi's destruction.

Was this it? Was this that moment?

It made sense.

Dooku had been meeting with Sidious more frequently lately. Their conversations were always quiet, always calculated.

Adam had heard whispers of Kamino. Of clones.

Of the grand plan.

They were setting it up.

And he was just… here. Training.

Sidious still hadn't told him what his purpose was in all of this.

Adam had trained harder than he ever thought possible, had endured horrors he never could have imagined.

And yet, despite his strength, despite his progress, he still felt like a piece on Sidious' chessboard, waiting to be moved.

His fists clenched.

He hated that feeling.

The feeling of just being a pawn in some twisted game.

But he didn't let it show.

He had learned, over the years, how to keep his emotions under control.

Sidious fed on emotions, twisted them, used them as weapons.

Adam had learned to mask his thoughts, to keep his mind his own.

Even as he fell deeper into the dark side, even as he allowed his rage to fuel him, he never let it consume him entirely.

He knew what happened to those who lost themselves.

Maul.

Anakin.

Even Dooku, despite his control, was merely another pawn.

Adam refused to be a pawn.

The chamber doors slid open with a hiss.

He didn't flinch.

Sidious entered, his dark robes flowing behind him.

Dooku followed closely, his expression as cold and unreadable as ever.

Adam remained seated, his gaze steady.

Sidious smiled. "You have grown strong, my apprentice."

Adam didn't respond. He had learned that Sidious liked to hear himself speak.

Sidious chuckled. "But you are not yet ready."

Adam's fingers twitched, but he didn't react otherwise.

"Patience," Sidious said, his voice dripping with amusement. "You will have your time."

Adam met his gaze. "For what?"

Sidious tilted his head, the eerie grin never leaving his face.

"In time," he said simply.

Adam exhaled through his nose.

Dooku watched him carefully, his piercing eyes analyzing every movement, every expression.

"You are perceptive," Dooku finally said. "You have heard things."

Adam didn't deny it.

Sidious chuckled. "Let him wonder, my friend. Curiosity is a powerful thing."

Dooku nodded but said nothing more.

Sidious turned back to Adam. "Continue your training. The galaxy will soon change. And when it does…"

His eyes gleamed.

"You will understand your place in it."

Adam watched as they left, his mind racing.

His place?

He wasn't sure what that was.

But he knew one thing.

He wasn't going to wait forever.
