Billy Johnson watched the orb of skin and flesh as it had grown from the chosen heralds corpse.He knew it would give birth to a new superior lifeform.The chosen heralds were all a perfect symbiosis of human and disease.
Billy Johnson had been an average man who had caught a disease that was abnormal.He had suffered at first but as he had time to think he began to accept the illness.It was straight after that he heard voices telling him about the majesty of the plague mother.The pain had gone away and Billy was filled with newfound vigor and strengh.
He and a few other infected were given a mission to find the new herald of pestilence.He was the only one that had succeeded.He had heard the task and had an immediate idea who the new herald would be.He had heard about the boy whose immune system was unable to fight disease.He knew where the research centre was and made his move.
The orb of flesh began to show signs of activity.A clawed hand burst from the infected postule.A cascade of foul liquids leaked from the fleshy orb which caused it to deflate.Another arm burst from the orb as the figure within tried to escape the confines of the skin layered orb.A hooded head erupted from the skin followed by a torso and a large pair of black raven wings.
Billy Johnson watched as the chosen heralds glorious form escaped from the deflating orb of afflicted flesh.He appeared healthy in any case.
Kathlor Morrigan's eyes abruptly turned towards Billy Johnson.His mouth open and he spoke in a hoarse voice that sounded simultaneously lively.
"I have reported to the plague mother of your service.Here is your reward." Kathlor Morrigan rushed forward faster then Billy could ever have moved and jabbed his clawed finger into Billy's flesh.
Billy immediately felt the presence of greater pathogens and cancers in his bloodstream.New strengh and vigour erupted in his system.He had never felt so good until now.
Billy now had a sense of his newfound abilities.He was now a plague knight courtesy of the goddess.He summoned his armour.Well he didn't so much as summon it as it came from within his flesh.
The armour was black and appeared weathered,brittle and rusty.It encompassed Billy's entire body.It also came with a brand new sword.Kathlor Morrigan looked on and was pleased with the boost to Billy's power.
He was powerful but not as powerful as Kathlor though Kathlor was the equivalent of a newfound infant among plague heralds.
The sounds of footsteps drew near as they both turned to the observation room.Security guards clad in black holding batons and standing in formation rushed into the observation room.
"Hold your hands up.This place is strictly monitored and trespassers aren't tolerated." The security guards were able to remain calm despite Kathlor's appearance and Billy's ominous armour and sword.
The infected researchers then came out of hiding and attacked the security guards of which there were nine.The closest security guard was tackled to the floor by three researchers who attempted to take off his face mask.
The security guards didn't stand idle as they attacked the afflicted researchers.The security guards showcased their superior physical abilities and fighting technique and subdued the researchers.The maladies afflicting the researchers hadn't had time to affect their bodies yet so the security guards were still superior in a fight.Unfortunately Kathlor and Billy were there.
Kathlor immediately flew towards the security guards despite the fact that his large wings were still too small to carry a person into flight.That was with natural logic however and Kathlors powers were metaphysical in nature.
His speed was impeccable but Billy followed close behind.Kathlor landed on two of the security guards and grabbed their visors.The black material corroded away as it deteriorated rapidly from the area of contact.
Kathlor then spat on the two security guards on their face masks.The liquid spit soaked through the face masks of the stunned security guards.The two security guards then began to spasm.One spasmed so hard he broke his spine and died.
Hmmm he is unfit to carry my gifts thought Kathlor as he observed the changes in the other security guard.The other security guard died of cancerous growths clogging his throat. Hmmm but so is this one.Should I limit the quality and quantity of my gifts?
"Nah weak specimens like this simply refuse to accept the gifts of the plague mother.Its not due to the nature of my gifts." Kathlor turned to Billy who had already infected the rest of the security guards in the time it took Kathlor to observe his abilities.These security guards laid on the floor moaning in agony.
Billy had dispatched them all with shallow stabs and while four of them died from the resulting infection the last three were still rolling on the floor.
"Hmmppphh they must simply learn to accept the plague mothers gifts."
"Indeed...shall we head outside chosen herald."
