The male's staff room of National Higher Secondary School buzzed with the muffled chatter of the teachers winding down after a long day of work. The ceiling fan spun with a creaking sound above the four teachers. All of them were lost in their thoughts except for one.
"I swear to god, these kids will be the death of me." Bineesh groaned, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "One of them wrote in an essay about shakespeare 'shakespeare was a famous scientist who invented the periodic table'"
Felix the physics teacher bursted into laughter as he said "Maybe he was thinking of mendeleev? At least he knows the periodic table exists."
Bineesh then looked at Felix and asked."Do you want to guess who wrote this?"
Felix replied "Who could it be? Could it be him?."
Bineesh sighed as he said. "Yes, it is indeed him. Ganashyam, that kid. I don't even know what to say at this point."
Sandeep laughed as he said. "I would rather have kids like that, rather than kids who can't even run a lap of the ground. Seriously they should make sports mandatory "
Susheel took a sip of his tea as he said. "Might as well make them do math problems while they are running. Killing two birds with one stone."
All of them laughed as they heard susheel's 'joke'. Sandeep mocked him by saying. "Seriously what kind of dad joke is that?"
"I was just joking you know, didn't know you guys won't like it." Susheel pouted.
The headmaster Haridas master approached the door as he said. "Although the students won't always appreciate you now, but remember they will remember you four for the rest of their lives."
Little did they know how true those words would become.
After the school day ended susheel got on his bike and drove out of the school compound. The ride was smooth without any problem. As he reached a deep turn he heard a blaring horn as a truck hit him and crushed him.
He felt pain. His vision was filled with darkness. And he could hear nothing. He thought it was over, but after a while he saw a light at the end of a tunnel.
On Mt. Tianghu. The sounds of birds and crickets chirping could be heard. It was peaceful. Suddenly a baby's cry echoed through the mountain. Susheel felt cold. He was small and weak. He could only remember fragments of his past life's memory.
But he could still clearly remember that his name was susheel. He had friends bineesh, felix, sandeep and.... Haridas. He was supposed to do something.... But he could not remember.
A woman cradled him gently. Softly whispering words into his ear which felt so foreign but so similar at the same time.
At this moment he understood that he was reborn in an another world. He felt an energy flowing through him warm and powerful.
He was no longer on earth.
He was no longer a teacher.
He was no longer even an adult.
He was a child in this unknown world.
An unknown world where only the strong had the right to prevail. The right to survive.
