Chapter 1 - Chapter 2Echoes of verbatim: The Butcher's Tongue

What is a world? A world can be many things; it can be vast and endless, or it can reflect someone else's perspective on life. A world can exist as a dream or as an inspiration. A world can be created or destroyed. It may have a god or be home to many gods. I dream of a world, but it's not just a dream; it feels more like a fragile creation, like a sandcastle. And just like all sandcastles, a wave will eventually crash upon it. -E)

Heavy breathing accompanied by running.

With every hurried step, her feet sank into the monstrous, writhing texture of the giant's tongue, producing a nauseating plop and squelch that echoed in the humid air. The atmosphere was heavy and cloying, filled with a damp warmth that clung to her skin, making each breath feel thick and suffocating. With each step, her feet made a sickening plop and squelch as she ran through the giant's tongue. The air was thick and humid.

I need to get out of here. I'm tired of running, Lila said, barely catching her breath.

Lila raced through a jagged labyrinth of gleaming teeth, her heart pounding in her ears as a deep, menacing growl rumbled ominously behind her. Suddenly she finds a crevice within the mass of the giant's teeth. She Squizes in the giant's jagged teeth with a sickening pop.

At that moment, the stalker leaps into the air just above the spot where she had been moments before.

The Stalker prowls above Lila, its claws scraping as it searches hungrily. With each moment, it emits a chilling blend of buzzing and imploding sounds, distorting the air around it, and making the Stalker itself seem inorganic.

Lila covers her mouth, suppressing her breathing as her heart thumps in her chest. She takes a couscous peep out from the jagged bone. She sees nothing but can hear the Stalker's overwhelming presence nearby.

Just when she thought she was in the clear, a long, slimy nerve wrapped around Lilas's ankle, dragging her out from her once haven. Down deeper the giant tongue and eventually the throat of this unkept beast.

As Lila fell, she could hear a faint, distorted call from her pursuer, the Stalker.

'' A low guttural artificial growl: You are always weak… so weak ''

Lila fell and hit her head, rendering her unconscious.

"Why are you this way?" a voice hissed, laced with disdain.

"I don't know," Lila cried.

Gasp~

As Lila starts to run to another hiding place.

Just as she took a step, her body contorted, skin blistering and cracking as limbs elongated into grotesque proportions. They stretched and twisted, seemingly defying all anatomical limits, reaching out in agonizing, unequal lengths.

"What's happening?" Lila screamed in agony

The pain seemed to last an eternity, but only 30 seconds passed before it subsided.

She gazed down at the wreckage with trembling hands, her heart racing as she took in the sight. To her relief, nothing appeared to be amiss with her body; her skin was unscathed, free from any bruises or cuts. Yet, a wave of disbelief washed over her.

"Lila, what? But I thought..."

"Panic surged through her veins as the Stalker's furious roar, a cacophony of grinding gears and hissing static, echoed ominously in the shadows nearby, drowning out her thoughts.

'You are mine!' it shrieked, the voice a synthesized amalgam of human screams and machine code, sending chills down her spine."

"Lila sprinted, her feet pounding against the pulsating flesh of the giant's throat, each step a sickening squelch. Exhaustion gnawed at her, her earlier injuries throbbing with renewed agony."

Driven by a primal need to survive, Lila ignored the throbbing agony of her warped limbs and lunged towards a gap between two pulsating slabs of flesh. It wasn't much, but it was her only chance. With a desperate heave, she squeezed her body into the pulsating crevice, the fleshy walls yielding with a sickening squelch.

The Stalker loomed like a nightmarish specter against the undulating, pulsating surface. Its dark form slid past the narrow crevice, and an eerie, mechanical hum resonated around The Stalker.

The crevice offered little comfort, its fleshy walls closing in around her. Shaking with fear, Lila pressed herself against the back, her hand muffling any sound that might escape her lips and alert the Stalker to her hiding place.

Lila drifted off to sleep briefly when she thought it was clear.

A low voice murmurs, 'You are a disgrace.

Lila was caught in a net of shimmering purple and yellow light, a strange, dreamlike cage that seemed to pulse with an unseen rhythm.

She awoke with a gasp, her eyes darting around the grotesque crevice where she'd frantically sought refuge.

Now, with the air vibrating from the incessant hum of machinery, she was too alert to fall back asleep.

Lila's body trembles with fear, the Stalker's synthesized shrieks, like the grinding gears of some monstrous machine, still echoing in her ears.

Where are you hiding, Lila?" the Stalker's synthesized voice rasped, each syllable a metallic spike against the air.
