Chapter 3: First Day at Law University
I woke up after a nightmare about that blue underwear incident. How was I supposed to study in the same university as Nathaniel Sinclair? Then again, it was a big campus. Chances were, I wouldn't see him much. I needed to relax. Besides, he was a second-year student.
I put on an orange skinny shirt with a daisy print 🌼my favorite , a blue jeans, and white sneakers. After adding a touch of simple makeup then i looked to myself in the mirror not bad lexie ! i look good , I headed downstairs, where the smell of pancakes greeted me.
Mom ( Tiana )Â beamed at me. "Good morning, sweetheart! Eat before you go."
I smiled, sitting down. "Thanks, Mommy."
Apparently, we were living in the same house my parents used to own in Willow Creek. They had never sold it. It was a simple American-style home but had the Blake touch.
After eating and giving Mom a quick kiss on the cheek, I left for university.
As I stood outside the immense university campus, I reassured myself again—there was no way I'd run into Nathaniel.
I checked my watch. 9:10 AM.
Wait. My class starts at 9! I was late!
I ran inside, racing through the halls—
Thud!
I collided hard with someone.
I can't be that unlucky ... right ? oh god please no . i slowly lifted my head - only to see him.
Nathaniel sinclair ...
Its a joke its was not him told you i'm not that unlucky .!
"Whoa, slow down, Daisy! You almost killed me!" a deep voice laughed.
He was a very handsome guy, almost as handsome as—wait, why was I comparing him to Nathaniel?!
"I—I'm so sorry! I'm late!" I stammered.
He grinned. "I'm Xavier. And you are?"
"Lexie. Not Daisy."
He chuckled. "Got it. Are you new here?"
"Yeah, first year. You?"
"Same! Do you know which class you're in?"
Panic hit me—I hadn't checked! I grabbed my phone, but it was dead. And I had forgotten my charger. Great job, Lexie.
Xavier noticed and laughed again. "Go to the university office. Ask them to print your schedule."
"Good idea!" I said, running off.
I knocked on the office door and was greeted by a kind-looking older woman.
"Hi, I'm Lexie Blake, first-year law student. Could you print my schedule?" I asked.
"I sent it via email," she replied.
"Uh, my phone's dead."
She sighed but smiled. "Alright, I'll print it for you. If the printer works—it's been acting up."
She handed me the printed schedule, but… it was barely readable. Some of the numbers were smudged.
I squinted. My first class was in Room 20… or was it 26? Or 29?
I'll just go to Room 20. That seems right.
I rushed into Room 20, slipping inside quietly. I took a seat, trying to avoid attention. But I felt eyes on me.
I turned.
Nathaniel Sinclair.
He smirked. "Wow. Too much stalking? A first-year barging into a second-year class just to sit next to me? Are you obsessed or what ?"
I froze. Why me?! Why always me?!
Nathaniel was sitting with a blonde girl—pretty, honestly—and a geeky-looking guy with glasses.
The guy looked at my schedule and adjusted his glasses. "You're in the wrong class. First years are in Room 26 class 120 my little brother study with you ."
I wanted to die. Without even glancing at Nathaniel, I muttered a quick thanks and bolted out of there.
Finally, I found Room 26.
Xavier was there, his deep brown eyes meeting mine. His sun-kissed skin and slightly tousled hair made him look effortlessly cool.
"Hey!" he greeted. "Come sit with me."
For some reason, I felt relieved. He was the first person I'd talked to here.
I sat beside him, just as another late student walked in. A petite girl with black hair, dark eyes, and pale skin. She sat next to us with a friendly smile.
"Hey I'm Emmy !" she greeted. She seemed nice.
At least my first day wasn't completely chaotic.
