Wen Ya stood frozen, her face pale in disbelief.
At that moment, Lin An had already removed his shirt.
His muscular physique was clearly defined, with visible abs. Unlike the typical bodybuilders or those who trained intensely, his muscles were a result of a perfect enhancement, thanks to the "Savior" template he had awakened.
His limbs were long, with fluid lines, and his skin was as smooth and translucent as jade. His muscles were tight but not exaggerated, yet there was an undeniable aura of strength beneath them.
He looked… quite appealing.
A strange thought crossed Wen Ya's mind, one she immediately tried to push away.
Her previously relaxed thoughts became cautious.
If he tries to force himself on me, what should I do? Should I kill myself? Or…?
Her mind was a mess.
It was the first time someone had taken such a bold action, and given her nature, she would rather choose death than be subjected to such a violation.
However, there was something about Lin An's presence that made her feel strangely drawn to him. His aura was magnetic, almost enchanting.
Damn it!
She quickly tried to regain her composure.
As Wen Ya was lost in her thoughts, Lin An turned around suddenly.
"Check my back."
"Do you see any markings?"
The reason Lin An had taken off his shirt was that he suddenly wondered if he, too, might have the distinctive markings of a mutant. But he hadn't been able to see them from the front.
If the markings existed, he would need to be cautious not to expose his true identity. After all, mutants were a powerful yet dangerous temptation in this new world.
"Huh?"
Wen Ya only came to her senses when she heard Lin An's words.
Fortunately, he had turned his back, so she didn't have to hide her embarrassment.
"No… nothing."
She cautiously examined him.
Lin An's smooth back, shaped like an inverted triangle, had no markings.
Lin An furrowed his brows.
How could there be none?
With his mind reaching a peak of 12 points after his resurrection, he should clearly be a mutant.
Was it possible he wasn't one?
Or could the markings be hidden?
His thoughts were clouded with confusion.
After some hesitation, Lin An decided not to investigate further for now.
Perhaps he wasn't a mutant, but that didn't matter too much. Mutants didn't necessarily gain extra strength from their markings; if anything, it made them more noticeable and vulnerable.
Later, when he was alone, he could check more thoroughly.
"Rustle, rustle."
Lin An quickly abandoned the idea of further investigation.
However, he was unaware that Wen Ya had, in fact, noticed a faint, dark purple marking near the edge of his pants—just a brief flash.
After putting on his shirt, Lin An turned to face her.
"Enough with the pleasantries. Join my team and serve me."
Wen Ya paused in shock as their eyes met.
Lin An's gaze was calm yet filled with pressure.
"Serve you?"
Wen Ya hesitated. Joining Lin An's team wasn't something she was opposed to. After all, he hadn't harmed her.
Moreover, she had seen his power firsthand.
After the start of the apocalypse, the wiser survivors quickly realized that this new world was not like the one they had known before. As an ordinary woman, she knew she couldn't even make it out of the road alone.
But serving him meant a lot.
"What does 'serve' mean? What do you need me to do?"
"Follow my orders, all of them."
Lin An didn't waste time with pleasantries. He spoke plainly.
Wen Ya lowered her head, crossing her arms protectively over her chest, feeling a chill from her exposed skin.
"All of them?"
"Everything?"
She hesitated, her voice small, unsure.
Without Lin An's approval, she didn't dare to put her clothes back on.
"No exceptions," Lin An responded coldly, his eyes not straying from her form.
Wen Ya stayed silent for a moment before reluctantly agreeing.
"I agree."
"Then tell me," she said quietly, "Why do you need me to join?"
"Also…"
She hesitated, her gaze pleading as she finally asked, "Can I put my clothes on first?"
Lin An didn't speak, simply nodded and turned his back.
While Wen Ya's figure was appealing, he had no interest in such matters right now.
A few moments later, Wen Ya had dressed herself. As she glanced at her disheveled hair, now broken in places like it had been gnawed on, she could only smile bitterly.
Lin An glanced back briefly before turning to lead the way.
"Keep up."
"From now on, keep your hair short. Long hair will hinder you in combat."
Wen Ya pouted but didn't argue. She silently tied her hair back, following his swift pace.
Such a cold man.
She couldn't help but wonder what kind of life he had lived before this.
Lin An, however, paid no attention to her feelings, his focus solely on the holographic screen before him.
The moment Wen Ya agreed to join, a new message appeared in his mind.
