Zhen Family.
Zhen Fugui was having breakfast with his wife.
As he ate, he suddenly remembered the yellow-haired boy who had been pestering his cabbage at home.
With a grim face, he recalled that his youngest daughter seemed a bit off yesterday. That damned yellow-haired boy had a strange look in his eyes.
"Lina, does Nana have a boyfriend?"
"I haven't heard of it. She's always with girls, and she doesn't have time to get to know boys," Aunt Chen thought for a moment. She never really interfered with her daughter's life.
"Qiqi hasn't even gone out to play yet, and she's still at the women's college. But then that kid, Jia Fuhai, married her. She's only 18! Ugh!"
The more she thought about it, the angrier she got, and Zhen Fugui slapped the table heavily.
"I think Xiao Hai is not bad either. Qiqi likes peace and quiet, and Xiao Hai is not noisy. It's a good match."
Aunt Chen knew that Zhen Fugui was upset because his daughter got married at such a young age. Now, every day, he either cursed Jia Fuhai or fought with him.
"Did you not notice the way Nana looked at Jia Fuhai yesterday?"
Zhen Fugui's reminder made Aunt Chen think again.
She remembered the scene from last night's dinner. Jia Fuhai was eating, and Nana had been eagerly helping him with his food, her eyes seeming a little strange. At the time, Aunt Chen hadn't thought much about it, as she assumed Nana was just trying to be helpful.
Aunt Chen frowned, thinking for a moment, then said with disbelief:
"It shouldn't be, right? Qiqi was still there."
"Ah! I hope I'm just overthinking it. Let Nana come back home and not go to Qiqi's place."
Zhen Fugui felt his head ache and quickly tried to stop his mind from wandering. He wondered if that yellow-haired boy was sent by the heavens to torment him.
"Well, that's better than bothering another couple all the time! I'll text Nana to have her come back home."
Aunt Chen also didn't want her daughter to go down the same path she had. She decided to nip any potential issues in the bud, or else the two sisters' relationship might turn into chaos.
That afternoon, Zhen Linna was struggling with how to explain things to Lin Feifei.
In the past, she had thought that all men were useless, so she had led Lin Feifei into the world of lesbians.
Lin Feifei felt guilty about it, thinking of other lesbians whose breakups had been so intense that they nearly ended in violence. After all, when it's two women breaking up, it's always... complicated.
She tried to push those chaotic thoughts aside and began to use her "bad girl" tactics on Lin Feifei, trying to calm her down.
After barely managing to smooth things over, she saw a message from her mother.
"Come home quickly, don't disturb your sister. Your dad and I are waiting for you to have dinner."
After reading the message, Zhen Linna felt like the sky had fallen down. Though she was immature and loved to have fun, she still wanted to keep playing.
Now, she was 18, just three months younger than Qiqi.
Qiqi had moved out because she had gotten married, but Zhen Linna couldn't oppose it. Besides, it seemed like someone had noticed something yesterday. She had to go back.
Zhen Family.
"What? Nana is a lesbian? She has a girlfriend?…"
Because Qiqi had been married off while still in school, Zhen Fugui, learning from the past, had paid someone to gather information about Zhen Linna's activities at school to avoid being caught off guard again. He never expected it to escalate this much.
"Why is that?"
Aunt Chen looked at Zhen Fugui, who had just finished the phone call, with a complex expression.
"Do you remember Lin Feifei?"
"Oh, I remember her. She always played with Nana. What happened?"
Aunt Chen was familiar with Lin Feifei. She always thought she was just Nana's close friend since they were always together, even during holidays.
"She's Nana's girlfriend!"
Zhen Fugui spoke in a complicated tone.
"What do you mean?"
Aunt Chen's brain malfunctioned as she couldn't immediately grasp the situation.
"Nana is a lesbian!"
Zhen Fugui thought to himself: How come neither of my daughters is easy to deal with? He used to think his eldest daughter was simple, but then she unexpectedly got pregnant and married off.
Just as he had started to think well of his youngest daughter, she turned out to be a lesbian. He wondered if he should find another yellow-haired boy to solve his problems. He didn't want his daughter to live alone and lonely in the future.
"Fugui, what should we do? Nana…"
Aunt Chen also had a hard time accepting it. Though she knew lesbian relationships were common in Hong Kong, she never thought her own daughter would be one.
"I'll think of something. I'll ask a psychologist. Don't say too much when Nana comes back."
Zhen Fugui, troubled, furrowed his brow.
Then, he suddenly realized that something was wrong. Yesterday, Nana's gaze at Jia Fuhai didn't look like a lesbian's at all.
He quickly grabbed his phone and contacted some police officers and detectives to help him investigate Nana's past activities.
"Qiqi and Nana, neither of them is easy to handle."
Zhen Fugui slapped the table hard, causing the items on the table to fly off.
Aunt Chen didn't dare say much. She just kept thinking about how to handle her daughter's lesbian situation.
Zhen Linna arrived at Hai Ge's house after school, but due to time constraints, she was sent back home.
At home, the atmosphere was extremely tense.
Zhen Linna didn't dare say much. She wondered if her relationship with Hai Ge had been discovered.
Zhen Fugui was troubled about how to deal with his youngest daughter's situation.
Aunt Chen also worried about her daughter's lesbian identity.
And so, the family spent an awkward and strange evening.
Another day, Jia Fuhai's five talents were still useless.
Jia Fuhai was strolling in the park with Qiqi, while Nana was at school.
Zhen Fugui also received information from the police and detectives.
Fortunately, it was just an inquiry into past information, which was relatively easy. Many security cameras could be accessed for public viewing.
He saw videos of his daughter and Lin Feifei entering hotels and many other intimate public scenes, which didn't seem like typical close friendships. They were much closer, like a couple.
Could his daughter really be a lesbian? But then, he recalled that strange look from that damned yellow-haired boy.
He couldn't make sense of it, so he decided to ask a psychologist for help. For his daughter, he was willing to do anything.
Without hesitation, Zhen Fugui immediately arranged to visit a well-known psychological clinic.
With money paving the way, he found a famous psychologist and explained his daughter's situation.
The psychologist explained some things about lesbianism and suggested that it was best if Zhen Linna came in for consultation herself.
Not caring for any of that, Zhen Fugui fired off a series of questions, and the psychologist, considering the situation, patiently answered all of his queries.
On the way home, Zhen Fugui began thinking deeply.
In his conversation with the psychologist, he had learned a lot about lesbian relationships, emotional support, rebellion, communication, and emotional cognition.
Was he not loving enough to his daughter? He had always treated her like a princess, always meeting her needs.
Had she been influenced? After all, she went to an all-girls school.
Should he encourage his daughter to date a boy?
Or should he respect her sexual orientation?
He struggled with the thought.
Would he have to take her to see a psychologist?
But he feared that might upset her.
When he got home, he immediately told his wife about the situation as explained by the psychologist.
"Why not talk to Nana?"
Aunt Chen sighed.
"Alright, I'll find an opportunity to talk to Nana."
Zhen Fugui felt helpless, and that was all he could do.
