{Title Activated: Sin of Pride}
The intense sun rays focused on the pine forest were warm and soothing. It drowned the throbbing pain in its warmth, reenergizing Leo's lazy bones.
His muscles bulged under the sun's rays, and his veins pulsated all over his body.
Ka! Ka! Ka!
Bone-cracking sounds range as he clenched his fists tight with a dull look on his face.
{First task acquired}
{Kill Isaiah Thorne}
"H-how are you still alive?"
Isaiah stuttered, his stretched-out hand trembling while pointing at Leo. He had drained every last drop of blood in Leo's body, purposefully avoiding consuming the soul.
He heard Leo's heart stop beating and saw life fade from his eyes. So how could this same person stand on his feet, alive and well?
"Did I make a mistake and turn him?"
Isaiah mumbled upon seeing the fang wounds on Leo's neck. It wasn't impossible he made a mistake and didn't completely drain Leo, turning him into a vampire in the process.
"Don't be silly, a Morningstar would rather embrace the cold arms of death than become a filthy beast with an addiction to blood."
Isaiah's words may have been a mumbled, but Leo heard it perfectly. Blood exchange was needed for one to turn into a vampire but Isaiah was so bad at being a vampire, not only was it dumb—he didn't even know basic vampire knowledge.
"I can't believe I lost to this goofy" Leo's tone was filled with contempt. "It doesn't matter, though, because I'm here to rectify this mistake."
Buzz!
The world seemed to slow down as Leo took a step, and Isaiah's instinct screamed only one word in his head—Run!
Isaiah had never been a bright boy, nor was he the strongest vampire out there. However, he had believed in one person—his mama!
And his mama once told him; "Never doubt your instincts!'
Thud!
Isaiah felt subtle tremors beneath the earth with each step Leo took, but he didn't panic.
His running shoes exploded and a third of his trousers tore, and his leg muscles began bulging. Isaiah's body turned skinner, his complexion even paler, but his legs expanded twice the normal size.
Bam!
The earth beneath his feet shattered as his body shot in the opposite direction as fast as it could. The world instantly turned into a blur.
Isaiah shot through the forest at blinding speed, moving around 40-60 km/h. He looked over his shoulder, and Leo wasn't following, but he couldn't shake off the feeling of danger.
"Who deluded you into thinking an overweight bat can escape this human?"
Isaiah's heart skipped a beat upon hearing those words.
Pa!
Isaiah ran into Leo's open palm and felt his fingers dig into his neck as soon as he struck. Like a weightless doll, he was held up, kicking and thrashing, but Leo remained unfazed.
"Ga- Let go- Let go of me!" Isaiah spat out between heavy breaths as he struggled to loosen Leo's hand, but he felt like a mother struggling against the tyrannical grip of an infant who just stole food.
A wise man once said that nothing is greater than the grip of an infant.
"You were right, my father killed your great-grandparents and grandparents... Unfortunately for you, I am my father's son."
Leo said, ignoring the kicks and punches that looked fierce but felt like the slaps of a cat.
FALSE SUN!
A miniature sun the size of a thumb spun into existence on Leo's left palm.
"So here's what's going to happen..."
Leo said as he shoved a miniature sun into Isaiah's mouth and covered it with his palm. Isaiah grabbed his palm, trying to pull it away from his mouth.
Black smoke poured out of the nostrils and eyes as his face had a faint golden glow underneath his skin.
"I'll kill Lilly next, right after I burn your incestuous parents to ashes."
Aaaah! Aaaaah!
Isaiah cried in agony as the radiant glow spread to all parts of his body, engulfing him in golden flames.
"But don't worry, I'll be sending every other freak like you in this town to the other side. You won't be alone for long."
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Leo's golden flames spiraled into the skies—burning until Isaiah was reduced to ashes.
Woosh!
A strong wind followed and blew the ashes away, leaving Leo standing alone in the pine forest. His head snapped in the direction of ruffling leaves, and Anderson emerged, his tuxedo drenched in sweat.
Beyond his exhaustion was a look of shock and confusion. Leo's bloody body, but there were no wounds, and there was something off about him—his presence was much more difficult to ignore.
"Master Leo?" Anderson called out cautiously, not daring to approach.
His head snapped up with a look of discomfort while he placed his hand over his eyes. Anderson couldn't understand why the sun was intense here when it was foggy all the way here.
"I forgot my ring... I found out the hard way." Leo said while flexing the index finger where he usually wore the ring.
He pointed to the right while pushing his hair back:
"I left my shirt back there... I'll be in the car."
