Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Replicating Minecraft

Jeff searched it on Google to avoid any plagiarism after confirmation and saw that Minecraft was actually not created yet.

He was happy since minecraft is literally a game that dominated his previous world achieving massive achievement in gaming history.

Notch created Minecraft in 2009 and was officially released in 2011.

Even before the full release, Minecraft was already blowing up in popularity due to word-of-mouth, like YouTube videos, and its unique gameplay.

It offered a sandbox survival experience where players could build anything literally an infinite LEGO world, and people loved it.

He too was included. It won the award of best selling game of all time, As of now, Minecraft in his previous world had sold over 300 million copies, making it the #1 best-selling video game ever, beating out games like GTA V and Tetris.

Not only that Minecraft basically built YouTube gaming culture. Creators like PewDiePie, Dream, and many others gained fame through Minecraft.

It also birthed mods, mini-games, roleplays, animations, and entire servers like Hypixel.

It won multiple Game of the Year awards and was inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame in 2020.

Praising for its creativity, education value, and long-term appeal. But In 2014, Microsoft was bought by Mojang (the studio behind Minecraft), showing how much value it had.

With his godly programming skill, he had full confidence in recreating the game.

"Replicating Minecraft, is just going to be easy as eating a cake" he though inwardly.

Jeff plugged the USB into the PC and opened Google.

He downloaded Unity, one of the best game development softwares available, and saved the files onto his USB drive.

After the download was complete, Jeff started working on replicating Minecraft.

Jeff opened the application and his fingers danced across the keyboard as he began programming his version of Minecraft.

For the first hour, he focused on replicating the game's basic mechanics, such as the block-breaking and inventory systems.

With each line of code he wrote, Jeff's excitement grew. He couldn't wait to see his creation come to life.

Jeff was completely engrossed in his programming, typing away on his keyboard with lightning-fast speed.

He was so focused that he didn't even realize that a group of people had gathered behind him, watching in awe as they saw the line of coding kept moving up.

As Jeff continued to work, the crowd grew larger, and some even began to record him on their phones.

Jeff didn't notice this because he was so engrossed in programming. Jeff was in the so called zone, and his godly programming skills were on full display.

As the second hour approached, Jeff began working on the game's aesthetics.

He spent time designing the block textures and character skins, making sure they were faithful to the original game while still putting his own spin on them.

For three hours straight, Jeff continued to work tirelessly, creating each element of the game with precision and accuracy.

He carefully coded every block, every creature, and every item until the game was nearly complete.

Jeff leaned back in his chair and admired his work.

He had created only 70% of Minecraft from scratch, and it was all thanks to his godly programming skills.

The version he wanted to create first was Version 1.0.0 which was released in November 2011.

Because If he choosed the very first version(0.0.1a), its a bit lacking of the game that he was familiar of since the version he first played is 1.0.0.

It was a browser-based game at that time, super simple just placing and breaking blocks, no survival mechanics yet.

Even though it was super basic, players loved the freedom to build whatever they wanted. It had.

Only 32 blocks to use No health, hunger, or enemies Just pure creative building

People got hooked fast because there was nothing else like it back then.

Finally, as the clock struck noon, Jeff stopped typing and leaned back in his chair, feeling satisfied with his work.

Only then did he notice the crowd of people behind him, was totally shock with his incredible programming skills.

Jeff sprang up from his seat and hastily transferred all of his files onto his USB drive.

He then wiped all evidence of his programming from the computer, leaving no trace for anyone to find.

Feeling slightly overwhelmed, he slipped away from the bustling crowd and paid the computer shop owner a mere 67₱ for his time.

He then bolted outside, running away from the cheers and adulation.

Jeff was not the type to seek out the limelight. He was a bit shy and felt uneasy when receiving praise.

As he ran down the street, he zigzagged through the crowds until he finally made it to the other side.

His eyes fell upon Aunt Rose's boarding house, a welcome sight at last. Jeff entered the house and spotted his aunt watching TV.

He crept silently towards the stairs, hoping to avoid any unwanted attention. But Rose was quick to notice him.

"So sweetie. How was your date?" she teased, with a sly smile playing on her lips.

"It wasn't a date," Jeff replied, with seriousness in his face.

"Sure, sure," Rose chuckled.

"You can bring her over here if you want. I won't mind." Rose continued with her joke.

"I don't care anymore," Jeff said, feeling defeated by his aunt's childish attitude.

"I'll go up now, aunt; see you later," Jeff said his last words before ascending in the stairs.

Rose noticed that Jeff wasn't in the mood for her joke and decided to turn her attention back to the TV.

Jeff climbed up the stairs and reached for the door to his room, when suddenly the door opened beside him.

Aunt Rose's boarding house, had five rooms in which was exclusively for female boarders, Jeff occupied one, so there's 4 rooms that are occupied by female.

Aunt Rose preferred female tenants than male tenants because girls are clean and knows proper hygiene, but she made an exception for Jeff, who was her best friend's child.

Jeff had only been living in his aunt's boarding house for three months.

Some of the other tenants had been here for over two years, while others had been here for even longer.

The location was ideal - not too hot or cold - and the signal was strong. But what really made it a great place to live was the landlord, Jeff's Aunt Rose.

Because everyone loved her warm and welcoming personality.

As Jeff stood there, the door beside him was finally swung open, revealing a stunning figure.

She had long black hair that cascaded down to her waist and her dark eyes sparkled like precious jewels.

Her face was flawlessly beautiful, with no hint of any imperfections.

She wore a white t-shirt and a mini skirt that complemented her figure perfectly, enhancing her allure. Her breasts were just the right size, adding to her overall beauty.

Jeff acknowledged that she was the most beautiful person he had ever seen other than rose, but he was not one to be swayed by mere physical appearance.

He valued personality and character over looks. Jeff nodded in greeting, and the girl returned the gesture as well.

After that the girl past jeff descending in the stairs. Jeff opened the door to his room, getting inside and shutting the door behind him.

Gazing at the USB in his hand.

"Just a little more and I can finally finish Minecraft," he murmured to himself.

Jeff's replication of Minecraft was nearly perfect; he only had 30% left to complete before he could publish it on an open marketplace and start making money from it.

Jeff removed his mask and hat, tossing them onto his bed with relief.

"I'm glad I had those on. If those guys had seen my face, they would have remembered me making me famous," he thought to himself.

Jeff remembered the people who had praised his programming skills. Gived him some chills, since he was a kind of semi-introvert.

Half socializable and half not.

In my town, in Sara, there were only a few people who knew how to program, and it was even rarer to find someone who could type as quickly as he could.

That's why the people who had witnessed his skills were so impressed and had admired him.

Jeff went closer to his bed, and he directly slumped down, feeling the bounciness and squishiness of the bed.

He closed his eyes to rest.

After taking a nap to rest for a while, Jeff suddenly woke up and glanced at his phone, which displayed the time as 7:00 pm.

Jeff stood up and walked to the kitchen to wash the rice cooker.

Once he had cleaned it, he added rice and washed it with clean water to clean it before turning on the rice cooker to boil it.

John decided to pass the time by watching some TikTok videos. Finally, the moment he had been waiting for arrived, and an electronic voice sounded in his ear.

[Lucky Spin System]

[A day has passed. One spin has been given to the host.]

(Do you want to spin?)

[Yes] or [No]

Without hesitation, Jeff tapped the [Yes] button.

The digital wheel appeared instantly, and the red pointer began to spin rapidly, ticking across various glowing icons and prize names.

"Please be a skill… please, please, please," Jeff muttered under his breath, eyes wide with anticipation as he leaned closer to the screen.

His heart pounded as he watched the pointer slow down, edging closer to what looked like a skill icon.

The pointer stopped just short of the skill slot and clicked into place on something else entirely.

"So close," he mumbled with a sigh.

"I thought this was the Lucky Spin System… not the Almost Lucky one." he muttered.

[Congratulations, you've won 1000₱]

The notification appeared in Jeff view.

"That's a little low," Jeff let out a sigh of disappointment.

However, he tried to look on the bright side. The money he had won could still cover his allowance for two weeks, so he felt a little satisfied.

Jeff allowance for 1 month is only 2000 to 3000 pesos, that was given by his mother. So he still appreciated what he had won.

Once the rice was cooked, Jeff went out to buy some food. He left the house and purchased three pieces of fried chicken, which cost a total of 30₱.

After eating his food, Jeff went to bed for the night. He decided to finish replicating Minecraft the next day.
