Chapter 2

[The System Has Been Successfully Bound]

[Currently Bound to: One Piece]

[The Host Has Successfully Bound to This System and Can Choose One of the Following Templates:]

[Tremor-Tremor Fruit (Undeveloped)]

[Dracule Mihawk (Swordsmanship)]

[Kaido Template (Extremely Rare)]

Zixu stared at the options before him. Without hesitation, he chose the third one.

"Bind Kaido, the Beast!"

There was no need to think twice. While the Tremor-Tremor Fruit was undoubtedly powerful, it placed an immense strain on the body. He lacked Whitebeard's monstrous physique. As for Hawkeye's swordsmanship, no matter how skilled he became, he would still be a fragile swordsman—high attack, low durability. One mistake and he'd be dead.

Kaido's template, however, was completely different.

Kaido, the Beast, was "the strongest creature in the world."

Even if he was hanged, he would break the chains.

Even if he was taken to the guillotine, he would smash the blade.

Even if he was stabbed by a spear, the spear would shatter instead.

He had sunk nine massive prison ships, and not a single soul had ever managed to kill him.

If Zixu wanted even the slightest chance to defect from this terrifying pyramid scheme of a village, he needed Kaido's strength.

[The Kaido Character Template Has Been Selected to Bind]

[Fusion in Progress…]

[Fusion Complete]

[Tip: Since Kaido's template is an advanced template, subsequent abilities must be unlocked by the host. Currently, only a portion of Kaido's physique has been integrated.]

[Current Fusion with Kaido's Physique: 5%]

Zixu frowned. "Unlock? What can be unlocked? How do I unlock it?"

[Unlockable Abilities: Devil Fruit, Haki, Advanced Haki Techniques, Chakra Fusion Techniques, etc.]

[The host can obtain Unlock Points by changing the world situation in the ninja world…]

Reading the system's response, Zixu immediately understood how he would grow stronger.

Changing the world, huh?

He hadn't watched much of Naruto, but as long as he could create peace—where children wouldn't have to go to war, and people could live safely—that would be enough.

"Well, at least the fusion is complete," he muttered. "But why don't I feel any different…?"

Although he found it strange, he remained composed, still listening to Sarutobi Hiruzen's speech with a serious expression. He planned to study his new physique after returning to his room.

Honestly, Sarutobi Hiruzen's speech sounded like corporate propaganda.

The reason you're not living a good life is because you don't work hard enough.

You must find value in yourself by working overtime.

Same rhetoric, different world.

But Zixu carefully wrote down everything.

Who knew? Maybe Sarutobi would quiz them later to root out those who weren't loyal to Konoha.

Just like a high-ranking CEO giving a speech, the Third Hokage talked for three hours before finally wrapping up.

Afterward, the teachers gathered the students according to their assigned classes, while the parents were taken on a tour of the academy, laughing and chatting with Sarutobi.

Ninja Academy - Classroom

Zixu was assigned to Class 1B, First Grade.

The classroom's structure was eerily similar to the lecture halls at Zixu's university—a tiered, semi-enclosed design.

The main difference was the desks. Instead of connected rows, each desk was a small, three-person table. At the front, a massive blackboard displayed a message written in chalk:

"Students, please read the textbook on your own."

Zixu followed the instructions on his admission letter and took his seat—a window seat in the back row.

He arrived early. At least for now, he was the only one at his table.

Following the instructions, he picked up the textbook and began reading. He had a strong feeling this was a test of their obedience.

There were multiple textbooks, but after flipping through them, Zixu realized most of them were general education subjects.

Only one was a ninjutsu textbook.

Even then, it only contained the most basic techniques:

Chakra Extraction Technique (Chakra Kyūshutsu no Jutsu)

Clone Technique (Bunshin no Jutsu)

Transformation Technique (Henge no Jutsu)

Substitution Technique (Kawarimi no Jutsu)

Not a single offensive technique.

Then, he skimmed through the other books:

"The Inheritance of the Will of Fire"

"The Importance of the Village"

"Loyalty - The Basic Quality of a Ninja"

"Sarutobi Hiruzen - The Strongest Hokage in History"

Zixu picked up the last one.

"If you want to defeat the enemy, you must first understand the enemy."

As he read through the pages, his palms grew sweaty.

"The Professor, proficient in all five chakra natures, possesses countless ninjutsu variations. His strength is unfathomable."

"Because of Sarutobi Hiruzen's leadership, no other villages dare to invade due to his overwhelming military power."

"Sarutobi Hiruzen possesses a Crystal Ball Technique (Suishō Kyū no Jutsu), allowing him to monitor the village and catch spies at any time."

Zixu's heart sank.

"This guy is a serious problem.

We can't fight him head-on…

That would be suicide…"

In his mind, Sarutobi Hiruzen's threat level skyrocketed.

Zixu picked up The Inheritance of the Will of Fire again. The first page read:

"Wherever the leaves dance, the fire will never stop.

The rotten old leaves will turn into flames to illuminate the village and allow new leaves to sprout. The new leaves will continue to burn in an infinite cycle."

It sounded meaningful on the surface, but from what Zixu had learned about history recently, the past Ninja World Wars seemed to have been started by these so-called "old leaves." And yet, those same old guys were still alive and well, while it was always the younger generation that had to go to war...

As Zixu silently criticized this flowery nonsense in his mind, a soft female voice suddenly came from beside him.

"Umm... classmate, are you okay...?"

Zixu was startled. He turned his head toward the voice and saw a girl with pale skin and light red glasses. She clasped her hands together, seemingly nervous but attempting to start a conversation.

"Ah, it's nothing. I'm just feeling a little hot." Zixu wiped the sweat from his forehead and smiled.

"Hello, my name is Uzumaki Zixu. We should be classmates from now on. Please guide me well," he introduced himself first. He figured that acting socially adjusted and mentally stable would make people around him more comfortable. Being from an orphanage, he didn't want to seem like some isolated weirdo.

"...Hello... My name is Aburame Hatsuizumi. Thank you for your guidance..." The girl let out a small sigh of relief, then sat beside Zixu and started reading the textbook as instructed on the blackboard.

Zixu also continued flipping through his book, skipping over the empty motivational talk and heading straight for the ninjutsu lessons.

"Chakra Extraction Technique: Extract energy from both the body and mind. According to the technique being performed, draw the required energy in precise amounts. Finally, use hand seals to mold chakra and execute the technique..."

Zixu read it over and over. He understood the words individually, but when put together, they barely made any sense.

Aburame Hatsuizumi, noticing his troubled expression, softly spoke.

"The Chakra Extraction Technique? Usually, clan elders teach it to their younger generations..."

"Ah... I'm an orphan," Zixu replied.

"Ah, sorry... I'm so sorry! I didn't mean—!" Hatsuizumi panicked, quickly apologizing.

"I... I'll teach you. As an apology..." She offered to teach him the basics. Hearing this unexpected opportunity, Zixu immediately agreed.

Just as they were about to start, a chair beside Hatsuizumi was pulled away. A girl with a cold, distant aura sat down.

She had short, blue-black hair and an exceptionally beautiful face, but her eyes were unusual—pure white and almost ethereal. They carried a detached coldness, making her seem unapproachable.

Zixu and Hatsuizumi's conversation came to an abrupt stop. But instead of ignoring her, Zixu took the initiative to greet her.

"Hello, my name is Uzumaki Zixu, and this is Aburame Hatsuizumi. Looking forward to learning together."

"Hyuga Chinano." The girl responded calmly, then said nothing more. She sat quietly, her hands clasped together as she stared at the ceiling, lost in thought.

Realizing that his chakra lesson had to be postponed, Zixu didn't let it bother him. He turned his attention back to his books. He figured they'd probably be tested on this content later, so he might as well commit it to memory.

He picked up another book, The Founding of Konoha Village, and started reading. But the more he read, the more he felt that something was off.

The book claimed that the First and Second Hokage created the village to prevent children from going to war. But by the time of the Third Hokage, it was suddenly being portrayed as "an honor for children to sacrifice themselves for the village."

There was also a section about the Ninja World Wars. The book stated that villages went to war due to a lack of resources. But with all the convenient ninjutsu available, couldn't they just use Water Release and Earth Release techniques to improve agriculture and solve those problems?

Instead, they built a system that trained children in the art of killing, then sent generations of them onto the battlefield to plunder resources through war.

Zixu felt that this place was worse than a cult. Even terrorist organizations in his previous world wouldn't dare run things this way. The Will of Fire that the First Hokage left behind might have had good intentions, but by the Third Hokage's era, it had definitely strayed far from its original meaning.

To Zixu, everything should evolve and improve over time. Maybe what the Will of Fire needed now was an injection of fresh blood—something different.

As he sat deep in thought, Hyuga Chinano glanced at him, her eyes filled with curiosity. She could tell that something was bothering him. He looked tense, uneasy.

She glanced at the book in his hands, but she didn't see anything particularly strange about it, so she said nothing.

"This place is completely insane," Zixu thought, tapping his fingers lightly against the desk.

Suddenly, an itch spread across his left palm. It wasn't painful—just a weird, tingling sensation.

He looked down to see what he had touched.

It turned out that there were a few sharp nails sticking out from the cracks in the desk—probably because the desk was old or maybe because some brat had messed with it as a prank. Those nails looked sharp enough to cut through skin.

But the moment he had tapped the desk, the nails had been completely flattened into tiny, round metal discs.

...What the hell?

Realization dawned on him.

Kaido's physique… this was just from the initial fusion. If this level of power came from only 5% of Kaido's body, what would it be like when he fully fused with the template? If he completely unlocked Kaido's abilities...

Shit…

Zixu carefully picked up the flattened nails and hid them, making sure not to draw any attention. He wasn't stupid—just because he had some crazy physique now didn't mean he was invincible. There were plenty of things in this world that could still kill him, so he had to be cautious.

With that in mind, he kept his head down and waited quietly for the teacher to arrive, along with Aburame Hatsuizumi and Hyuga Chinano, each of them lost in their own thoughts.
