Chapter 7: Shattered Chains
---
Scene One: The Shadow's Cry
A crushing pressure weighs down on Rin's body, as if his own power is slipping beyond his control. The more he uses it, the more he feels something awakening inside him—something not human.
> Rin (panting, staring at his hand as its edges dissolve into black mist): "What's happening to me...? Is this my power, or am I becoming something else?"
A voice echoes in his mind—a voice he's never heard before, yet it feels eerily familiar.
> The Voice: "The boundaries... are weak. Break them, and ascend to the next stage."
---
Scene Two: Hunters and the Target
As Rin struggles to make sense of what's happening, he finds himself surrounded by a group of armed mercenaries. They're well-equipped, highly trained, and judging by their expressions… they know who he is.
> Mercenary Leader (smirking): "Finally, we've found you… the lost shadow. It's time to bring you back where you belong."
Before they can make their move, a surge of black energy erupts from Rin's body—an overwhelming storm of darkness that distorts everything around him.
---
Scene Three: Rebirth
Rin has always fought with raw power and sharp intellect. But now… this is different. This is something new. For the first time, he feels free—like chains he never even knew existed have just been broken.
> Rin (cold smirk): "So you think you have the power to capture me? Alright then… let's see who devours who."
The battle begins. But this time, Rin isn't just a fighter anymore. He's something else entirely.
Chapter 8: Ghosts of the Past
---
Scene One: The Storm Settles
Amidst the chaos, Rin stands in the center of the battlefield, his body drenched in the blood of his enemies. The hunters who had tried to corner him were now nothing more than shredded corpses—except for one… the silver-haired commander.
> Commander (calmly wiping the blood off his sword): "So, you didn't disappoint me."
Rin eyes him warily, his breaths heavy, yet his body still thrums with energy. This wasn't just a fight—it was a test.
> Rin (his voice low, eyes narrowing): "You weren't trying to kill me… you were watching me."
The commander smirks coldly, his gaze carrying an unsettling depth of knowledge.
> Commander: "I wanted to see if you were ready… and you've proven to be more than I expected."
Something about this man unsettles Rin, as if he knows far more than he should. But before Rin can press him for answers, the sound of hurried footsteps echoes in the distance.
Reinforcements.
---
Scene Two: The Escape
Rin quickly assesses the situation. He's already burned through too much energy in this fight. Another confrontation now would be reckless.
> Rin (quietly, stepping back): "I'll kill you later."
But the commander doesn't seem worried. Instead, he offers a cryptic smile.
> Commander: "Maybe. But until then… remember this—the shadow does not hide. It waits for the right moment."
Before Rin can question him, the commander vanishes into the darkness, as if he were never there to begin with.
Rin doesn't waste another second. Using the last remnants of his strength, he slips into the alleys, leaving behind a massacre that would soon stir up a storm.
---
Scene Three: Faded Memories
Hours later, Rin finds himself in an abandoned hideout, far from prying eyes. His body still pulses with dark energy, but something else gnaws at him… a voice in his head.
> Mysterious Voice: "You're closer than ever… but you're still weak."
Rin clutches his head, a sharp pain tearing through his mind. And then, suddenly… a glimpse of the past.
He sees himself as a child, standing before a shadowy figure with burning red eyes. The man's voice is deep, ominous.
> Shadowy Figure: "If you want power… you must abandon everything."
Rin's eyes snap open, sweat dripping down his face. This memory… he had never seen it before. Yet, it felt so familiar.
Rin (quietly): "Who the hell am I?"
Chapter 9: "The Evil Genius' Master Plan"
---
Scene One: The Meeting of the Inept Villains
In a dimly lit, smoke-filled basement, a group of hooded figures gathers, trying their best to look intimidating… but in reality, their outfits resemble cheap anime cosplay bought from the internet.
> Evil Leader (in an overly dramatic voice): "Today, we put an end to that insolent brat who keeps ruining our plans!"
One of the minions (raising his hand): "Sir, you mean Rin?"
Leader: "Yes! That bastard mocks us even when we try to kill him! How dare he?!"
Another minion: "Well… maybe because we're… really bad at our jobs?"
Leader (glaring at him): "No! We are simply victims of a dumb writer's script!"
At that moment, one of the walls collapses, and Rin steps in, his weapon glowing with strange energy.
> Rin (with a smirk): "What a coincidence. I was just thinking about you guys, and here you are!"
Leader: "YOU!! How did you find us?!"
Rin: "Easy. When villains gather, it's always in some dark underground lair. I've read enough manhwa to know that."
One of the minions (whispering to the leader): "Told you we should've met at a coffee shop instead…"
And just like that, the fight begins!
---
Scene Two: A Shonen Fight… But Make It Parody
The evil leader steps forward, raising his hand dramatically to unleash his ultimate attack.
> Leader (screaming like a madman): "Now, behold my TRUE POWER!!!"
But… nothing happens. An awkward silence fills the room.
> Rin (facepalming): "Oh god… you're one of those villains that need to charge up before attacking, aren't you?"
Leader (sweating profusely): "Shut up! This is a dangerous technique! Just give me five minutes!"
Rin: "Alright, cool. I'll go grab a snack while I wait."
Rin casually sits down on a nearby chair, pulling out a snack and munching away, while the leader continues screaming, desperately trying to charge his attack.
Five minutes later, the villain finally launches his attack—only for Rin to sidestep it effortlessly.
> Rin (cold smirk): "Dude, no one actually waits for you to finish charging in real life."
Leader (devastated): "But… but that's against anime battle rules!"
Rin: "Yeah, well, I don't play by your rules." [Proceeds to punch the leader straight into a wall.]
---
Scene Three: The Hilariously Pathetic Escape
Realizing they can't beat Rin, the villains attempt to run away… but they all bolt in the same direction, trip over each other, and crash into the ground in a pile of failure.
> One of the minions (face down on the floor): "Why are we so damn incompetent?!"
Rin (pinching the bridge of his nose): "Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing…"
In the end, Rin decides to let them run away since they're not really a threat.
> Rin (smirking): "Don't worry, I'll let you escape… so I can beat you up again in a later chapter."
And so, Rin walks away victorious, while the villain screams about how he'll return stronger (even though he absolutely won't).
End of Chapter 9.
Chapter 10: The Monster Who Doesn't Read Instructions
---
Scene One: The Forgotten Gate
Rin wandered through a dark alley, contemplating his bizarre life since he entered this world. He wasn't sure if he was stuck in some never-ending dream or if he had fallen victim to a cosmic conspiracy turning him into an unwanted hero.
> Rin (grumbling): "Why do I feel like a cheap Isekai manga protagonist? Am I gonna get a harem of naive girls too? Nah, I don't want that… I want money, fighting, and a lot of sleep."
As he walked, he stumbled upon a mysterious gate radiating dark energy. Unlike any other gate, there was a sign hanging above it:
> "Black Death Gate: Warning! Danger Level: Impossible to Survive!"
Rin, being the responsible and rational hero he is, carefully read the sign… and then completely ignored it and walked right through the gate.
---
Scene Two: An Unexpected Encounter
As soon as Rin stepped through, he found himself in a strange dimension filled with black fog and cracked ground, with a massive castle looming in the distance, its spiky towers casting ominous shadows.
> Rin (looking around): "Well, this definitely isn't Disneyland..."
Suddenly, a massive shadow appeared before him, and a virtual black screen flashed in front of him like something out of an RPG game:
[Level: Catastrophic]
[Monster: Dark King - Nidhogal]
[Ability: Annihilate Everything That Moves]
Rin stood still for a moment, then clapped sarcastically.
> Rin: "Nice, nice! Finally, a monster that doesn't give me a long speech before the fight!"
> Nidhogal (voice shaking the ground): "Human, you've made a grave mistake by entering my kingdom!"
> Rin (calmly): "Oh, sorry, did you need an entry permit? I forgot my passport."
Nidhogal, not taking kindly to the mockery, raised his hand and formed a massive ball of black energy. Rin didn't flinch, instead raising his hand too… and pulling out an imaginary notebook, starting to write in the air.
> Rin (writing): "Update: Some villains still give long speeches before attacking... no change in this world."
As Nidhogal launched his attack, Rin swiftly dodged it as if he were in a fighting game, leaping to appear directly above the monster's head.
> Rin: "Now, let's apply Shonen Manga Rule #27: 'If the enemy is too big… aim for the head!'"
He struck Nidhogal's head with all his might, sending the monster stumbling back.
Nidhogal was in shock. This wasn't part of the script! He was supposed to be an invincible boss!
> Nidhogal: "W-what is this? How are you this strong?"
> Rin (smirking): "Oh, I forgot to tell you… I play with cheats."
Then, Rin used one of his stolen abilities, Shadow Disassembly, slowly absorbing the monster's energy.
---
Scene Three: A Major Mistake
While Rin enjoyed taking down the monster, he suddenly heard a voice in his head, like an NPC giving instructions in a video game.
[Warning! Absorbing this power may lead to unknown side effects.]
Rin glanced at the virtual message, then ignored it again—just like anyone smart would do when they see a dangerous warning in a video game.
> Rin (sarcastically): "Alright, what's the worst that could happen?"
Two seconds later…
[100% of Dark King Nidhogal's energy absorbed]
['Shadow Beast Mode' activated temporarily]
Rin suddenly felt a huge surge of power coursing through his body, but he also began feeling an odd urge to laugh maniacally and deliver long monologues about darkness.
> Rin (trying to resist): "No… I don't want to turn into a cheap villain!"
But he couldn't stop himself from raising his hand into the air and shouting in a deep voice:
> Rin: "O Lower Realms! Tremble before my absolute power!"
Then he paused for a second, shocked by himself.
> Rin (in disbelief): "Impossible… I've caught the traditional villain virus!"
---
Scene Four: The Great Escape
Without thinking, Rin quickly decided to leave through the gate before he turned into a villain who spouts endless monologues. As he returned to the real world, he collapsed onto the ground, taking a deep breath.
> Rin (catching his breath): "New note: Never absorb giant monster energy again… EVER!"
Just then, a man in a black coat appeared before him, looking at him with cold eyes.
> Man: "You… the one who defeated the Dark King?"
> Rin (yawning): "Yeah… but trust me, it wasn't as fun as it sounds."
> Man (sternly): "If you're truly this powerful… the Underworld wants to speak with you."
Rin looked at him lazily, then stood up, waving his hand.
> Rin: "Alright, alright, but before that… do you have a good café around here? I need coffee before any more life-threatening threats."
And just like that, Rin unknowingly started stepping into bigger plans than he had expected…

End of Chapter 10
Chapter 11: The Heroes' Deception
Scene 1: A Smart Plan or Just Luck?
Ren found himself in an old dungeon, deep in a dark basement, watching the guards talk about the "Great Gate" that was going to open soon.
> Ren (smirking mischievously): "So, there's a big event coming up? Sounds exciting... Or at least more exciting than the last episode of an anime with unexplained superpowers."
He decided to pull off a smart escape plan, using his experience from video games and anime. As one of the guards got closer, Ren pretended to faint.
> Guard (approaching cautiously): "What happened to this poor guy? Did he die from fear?" Ren (whispering): "Wrong move, NPC."
With a swift strike, he knocked the guard out, took his keys, and sneaked out of the cell, muttering:
> Ren: "Why doesn't this happen as easily in Souls games?"
Scene 2: Meeting "The Warrior of Light"... The Annoying One
During his escape, Ren ran into someone claiming to be the "Warrior of Light." He looked like a main character from a shonen anime, with his blond hair and glowing eyes.
> Warrior of Light: "You! You can't escape! The law is on the side of justice!" Ren (sighing): "Oh, great... We've got another hero who thinks he's from JoJo."
The hero tried to strike, but Ren easily dodged, causing him to grumble:
> Ren: "This is why main characters need to train before fighting bosses."
With a simple trick, Ren made the "Warrior of Light" slam into a wall, knocking him out cold.
> Ren (walking away): "That was easier than dodging attacks in a manhwa full of overpowered abilities."
Scene 3: Are All Heroes Annoying?
After escaping to the city, Ren sat down at a café to relax, but suddenly, a girl with long blue hair carrying a huge sword stood in front of him.
> Girl: "You're the one who escaped from the dungeon, right?" Ren (sighing): "Of course... Are you heroes, or just NPCs programmed to annoy me?"
She began attacking him, but he dodged effortlessly.
> Ren: "Nice move, but I've seen that in every anime where the underdog protagonist becomes ridiculously strong."
In the end, he convinced her that he wasn't the real enemy and decided to leave before another group of heroes who thought they were in a manhwa full of miracles showed up.
> Ren (walking away): "Looks like I'll be dealing with heroes until the end of this story, huh?"
Temporary End of Chapter 11.
Chapter 12: A World Full of Foolish Heroes
Scene 1: Another Hero? Of Course!
After dealing with the "Warrior of Light" and the girl with the giant sword, Ren decided to sneak into one of the black markets to buy some gear. He wore a black cloak to hide his identity, but, of course, things didn't go as planned.
> Ren (sighing): "Let me guess, a new hero's gonna show up and start yelling about justice?"
Sure enough, not a minute passed before a young man in silver armor appeared and stood in front of him, raising his sword like it was the opening scene of a heroic anime.
> Armored Hero: "You villain! I know you're part of a dark organization!" Ren (looking around): "A dark organization? Are we in a 90s manga?"
The young man tried to attack, but Ren easily dodged the strike, then pulled out a small dagger.
> Ren (coldly): "Either you move faster, or you're just a useless NPC."
With a quick maneuver, Ren grabbed the hero by his armor and tossed him into a barrel of water.
> Armored Hero (struggling in the water): "I... can't swim!" Ren (walking away): "Heroes these days have no practical skills..."
Scene 2: Dangerous Information
After leaving the market, Ren met with a shadowy informant—an old man wearing dark glasses and a suspicious smile.
> Informant: "I hear you're looking for information about the Great Gate?" Ren: "How about you give me the information before another hero shows up to annoy me?"
The man pulled out an old map showing the location of the gate, which seemed to be not just an entrance to another world, but contained a secret tied to the source of power in this world.
> Ren (studying the map): "If this is true... the gate might be the key to controlling everything."
Scene 3: Breaking Into the Heroes' Meeting
While thinking about his next move, Ren discovered that the heroes were holding a secret meeting in a massive castle.
> Ren (smirking): "A hero meeting? This is an opportunity I can't miss..."
He sneaked inside the castle and hid in the shadows, where he saw a group of heroes discussing the threat of the "Great Evil." Among them were the "Warrior of Light" he had previously defeated, the girl with the giant sword, and the armored hero who had nearly drowned in the barrel.
> Ren (muttering to himself): "Is this a shonen team-up? They just need the hero who screams the name of his finishing move."
Then their leader entered—a huge man with a glowing golden aura, known as "The Great Leon."
> Leon: "We have a dangerous enemy planning to take control of the Great Gate! We must stop him at all costs!" Ren (whispering): "Wait... are they talking about me?"
Temporary End of Chapter 12.
Chapter 13: When the Heroes Become the Real Villains
Scene 1: A Meeting Full of Idiocy
Ren hid in the corner of the room, watching the heroes scream their boring heroic slogans.
> Warrior of Light (yelling passionately): "He's a dangerous villain! We must unite to take him down!" Giant Sword Girl (frustrated): "He beat me so easily... this can't be right!" Armored Hero (terrified): "He threw me into a water barrel! I don't want to face him again!" Ren (muttering to himself): "Oh my god, these are the ones who are supposed to keep peace in this world?"
The Great Leon stood in the center of the room, staring seriously at everyone before slamming his fist on the table.
> Leon: "We cannot allow this darkness to spread! He's after the Great Gate, and if that happens, it will be the end of all of us!"
> Ren (thinking sarcastically): "Oh great, now I'm the main villain? I mean... sure, I want to control the gate, but who said I'm going to destroy the world?"
One of the heroes raised his hand hesitantly. He was a young man wearing a blue robe, seemingly specialized in magic.
> Sorcerer: "But Sir Leon, do we have proof that this man is evil?"
The entire room went silent for a moment, and everyone stared at the sorcerer as if he were an alien.
> Leon (angrily): "He has dark energy! Do you need more proof than that?" Warrior of Light (arrogantly): "Anyone with dark mana is evil by nature!" Ren (thinking mockingly): "Wow, racism in a fantasy world too? What a surprise..."
Scene 2: An Unexpected Intervention
While Ren enjoyed watching the heroes' stupidity, he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder. He slowly turned around to find a ghost smiling at him.
> Ghost (whispering): "Not wise to stay here too long..."
> Ren (surprised): "Oh, great, now the ghosts are giving me advice?"
The ghost vanished immediately, and Ren decided it was time to leave. But just as he turned to move, alarms went off throughout the castle.
> Leon (shouting): "We have an intruder among us!"
Ren looked around to see one of the heroes, a short man with glasses, pointing a trembling finger at him.
> Ren (muttering to himself): "Of course, nothing ever goes smoothly..."
Scene 3: Should I Fight? Nah, I'll Have Some Fun
The heroes formed a battle formation, while Ren smiled sarcastically and placed his hand on his sword.
> Leon: "Surrender now, and we won't hurt you too much!" Ren: "Is this what you say to every enemy you meet? Because it's never convincing."
The Warrior of Light tried to attack, but Ren easily dodged the strike and stepped on his head, pressing down until he nearly buried him into the ground.
> Ren (smiling): "Wow, you've improved! You were slower last time." Warrior of Light (struggling to get up): "Y-You're not human!" Ren (coldly): "Is this your polite way of saying I'm awesome?"
The sorcerer rushed in to attack, but barely started casting his spell when Ren appeared behind him and tapped him lightly on the back of the head, knocking him out cold.
> Ren: "Oh my god, this is easier than playing Dark Souls on easy mode."
As Leon watched his comrades fall one by one, rage began to rise in his eyes.
> Leon: "I've been merciful with you so far, but the playtime is over!"
He raised his golden sword, and a massive aura of holy energy erupted around him.
> Ren (smiling confidently): "Oh, finally, something interesting... Well, let's see if you're worthy of that 'Great' title!"
Temporary End of Chapter 13.
Chapter 14: When the Heroes Become Mere Extras
Scene 1: Give Me Your Best Shot!
The holy sword in Leon's hand glowed, and the holy energy surrounding him made the entire room shake. It was quite the spectacle... in theory, at least.
> Leon (angrily): "You defeated my friends so easily... but I won't fall as easily as they did!"
> Ren (slouching lazily): "Ah... I've heard this line so many times... then a few seconds later, the person who says it is on the ground."
> Leon: "This time is different! I'll show you the power of a true hero!"
Leon raised his sword, and a massive wave of holy energy shot out toward Ren. The attack looked dangerous... for someone at level one.
> Ren (with a faint smile): "Oooh... that's cute."
At the last second, Ren moved aside with ease, making the wave hit the wall behind him and obliterate it completely. This was supposed to be a glorious moment for the hero... but it wasn't.
> Ren (clapping slowly): "Awesome... now you've destroyed your own castle. Perfect, got any more of those smart attacks?"
> Leon (face turning red): "How do you dodge my attacks so easily?!"
> Ren: "Because I'm faster than you, stronger than you, and smarter than you... want me to add more?"
Scene 2: Want to Make Things Worse? Yes!
Ren decided it was time to make this even more humiliating for the so-called great hero. He slowly walked toward him, as if taking a stroll.
> Leon (backing away in fear): "Stay where you are!"
> Ren (in a chilling, quiet voice): "Why? Are you afraid to discover you're just an extra in my story?"
In an instant, Ren disappeared from his spot and appeared behind Leon. He raised his finger and gently pressed on Leon's shoulder.
> Ren: "Boo."
Leon jumped in terror and fell to the ground, rolling several times before stopping, gasping for air. His face was a mix of shock and fear.
> Leon (angrily and confused): "What... what did you do?!"
> Ren: "I did nothing... but I really enjoyed your reaction."
The rest of the heroes, who had regained their senses, looked at Leon in terror. This was the guy they considered the strongest warrior among them... and now he was rolling on the floor like a sack of garbage?
Scene 3: The Embarrassing Finale
Leon realized he had lost all his dignity, so he quickly got to his feet, trying to regain his seriousness.
> Leon (faking bravery): "I was... just testing his strength."
> Ren (sarcastically): "Oh, great test! Should I give you a certificate for that experiment?"
> Warrior of Light (quietly to one of his teammates): "Is this... the great hero?"
> Sorcerer: "I think we bet on the wrong guy..."
Leon heard the whispers behind him and felt both anger and shame battling inside him. But he couldn't deny the truth.
> Ren (with a cold smile): "Well, that was fun, but I have more important things to do than waste my time with you."
Ren turned to leave, but Leon suddenly shouted.
> Leon: "Wait!"
> Ren (sighing): "Oh, what now?"
> Leon: "I won't let you get away like this... I'll be stronger next time, and I'll defeat you!"
> Ren (sarcastically): "Good luck... but don't forget to see me in your nightmares tonight."
As soon as he said that, Ren vanished from the room, leaving behind a group of heroes who suddenly started questioning their abilities and life choices.
Temporary End of Chapter 14.
Chapter 15: A Meeting Underground
Scene 1: The Meeting of the Suspicious
Deep beneath the city, in one of the dirtiest taverns, a secret meeting was taking place, gathering some of the most dangerous and mysterious figures. The room was dimly lit by weak lamps, filled with smoke, as the attendees sat around a round table, with a map of the city at its center, red marks indicating areas of influence.
At the head of the table sat a massive man with dark skin and a scar running from his eye to his jaw, known as "Black Jack," one of the mercenary leaders in the underworld.
> Black Jack (in a rough voice): "I heard one of the kingdom's heroes was humiliated by someone unknown... is that true?"
> A masked man sitting beside him: "Not just humiliation... he was treated like a child learning to walk."
> Black Jack (laughing): "Ha ha ha! What a bunch of fake heroes... if that's true, we have a new player on the field."
Everyone exchanged glances, trying to process this information. The appearance of someone capable of crushing heroes so easily meant the balance of power was beginning to shift.
Scene 2: The Leader in the Shadows
As they discussed the matter, another man entered the room, wearing a long black coat and a mask covering half of his face. Everyone knew him as "Mr. X," one of the top strategists in the black market.
> Mr. X (in a calm but confident voice): "Ren… that's the name of the man who humiliated the heroes."
A moment of silence passed before Black Jack slammed his fist on the table, excited.
> Black Jack: "That name is starting to spread... but who is he? And who is he working with?"
> Mr. X: "The information about him is hazy... but he doesn't belong to any known faction. He doesn't follow the Church, nor the nobles, nor even the major guilds. He's just a free man… and that makes him more dangerous than any organization."
The faces around the table grew serious. A free man, not tied to any faction, but strong enough to defeat heroes? That was a threat that couldn't be ignored.
> One of the attendees (worried): "If he's roaming alone, he might have his own plans… what if he decides to take over one of the city's districts?"
> Black Jack (smiling deviously): "If he has that kind of power, maybe we should consider something else... what if we offer him a deal?"
Scene 3: The Wanderer Without a Destination
Meanwhile, Ren was walking down a dark alley, hands in his pockets. He was feeling bored, but enjoying the reputation that was starting to spread around him.
> Ren (talking to himself): "Oh, looks like I've become the talk of the underworld… how amusing."
He suddenly stopped when he felt several eyes watching him from the shadows. He didn't need to look to know they were planning an attack.
> Ren (with a sideways grin): "Oh, am I getting a proper welcome?"
Moments later, five men with different weapons lunged at him.
> One of them: "Ren! We've been ordered to bring you in, alive or dead!"
> Ren (yawning): "Again? Haven't you all gotten tired of these repetitive scenarios?"
In less than a second, Ren moved quickly, appearing behind one of them before lightly striking his neck, knocking him out cold.
> Ren: "One..."
Before the others could process what had just happened, Ren disappeared again, reappearing between two of them, grabbing their heads and smashing them together, knocking them out instantly.
> Ren: "Two, three..."
> Another man (shaking): "W-what are you?"
> Ren (smiling): "Me? Just a guy who hates it when people interrupt his late-night strolls."
He disappeared again, appearing next to the last man, who had nothing left but to scream for a moment before collapsing with a simple blow.
> Ren (sighing): "God, is that all you've got? I was hoping for a more thrilling challenge..."
At that moment, applause came from behind him. He turned to see a tall man wearing a black coat and a neat mask… Mr. X.
> Mr. X (with a faint smile): "Looks like you're not just a rumor, Ren."
> Ren (with a sideways grin): "And you? Don't look like just an ordinary bystander."
> Mr. X: "I've got an offer for you... and it might be more interesting than you expect."
And so, as the rumors of his power spread, Ren entered the world of the big players… but the real question was: would he join them, or would he prefer to flip the table on everyone?
Temporary End of Chapter 15.
