Chapter 1 Prologue

-Washington- 2014 a. C.

A "heavenly" child.

That is what everybody had called Julian. He also thought the same way. Because of an ability he got at birth, he had been able to think much faster than any other human.

While everyone else had to think second for second, he could think at a much quicker rate. And while it might sound like a horrible curse to spend hundreds of hours in just one normal hour, he had complete control of his ability. When he was younger, he had tested his ability and found out, that the maximal output within one second about 600 seconds was.

But, even though he should have been able to control it, when he's angry or anxious he lost control over that ability. He had always thought of it as a protection mechanism of his body. So, for others, it seemed as if he had calmed down within seconds. But actually had to spend hours thinking about what had made him angry or anxious.

Then, with the passing time, he had built a kind of resistance against most bad emotions and feelings. When he had just turned 15-Years old, he had thought that there was nothing capable of making him feel shocked. And as though god had wanted to play with him, an event struck an emotion that shocked Julian deep into his bones.

At that moment he had felt dozens of mixed emotions.

-In a school in Washington-

"Hey Julian! Are you coming?", a young man, seemingly in his teenage years, asked another young man with a stressed expression. Julian.

"Yeah, Mike. I'm coming!". Julian picked up his darkgreen sportsbag from his desk, which had been filled with scribbles from the student who sat there before him.

"Hurry up!", the young man named Mike called „We're gonna be late for training!"

The two of them had been friends ever since preschool, so they did everything together.

Julian and Mike ran out of the classroom into the dark, lightbrown hallways of the school's third floor. The classroom and hallway were completely empty. Not a single person in sight. The lights were already out and the two 15 year olds could only see because of the sun, which was already turning red on the horizon.

A few moments later they reached the middle of the hallway, entering the staircase. The walls were gray with small but deep holes all over. They were probably made by the younger kids who poked the walls with something like pencils and metalic instruments. In each of the corners of the Staircase was an accumulation of dust and dirt, which the students carried along on their boots. On the floor random bits of plastic and food were left around.

They soon were down on the ground-floor and made their way out of the main entrance. On the doors of glass many fingerprints, which the students had left on them, smeared the glass. As they hurried out of the school, the horizon already began to darken and the sun to shine it's last rays of light for the day.

It was winter and the roads were full of snow, the temperatures being very cold, at -1 or -2 °C. Canes of ice were hanging from the roofs of nearby bulidings and streetlights. Julian and Mike wanted to get as close as possible to the club building before the sunlight would fade.

Making their way down the dark street, they passed other people or had cars overtake them. As the sun had already sunk behind the horizon the streetlights turned on and the two teenagers made their last sprint to a tall building nearby. They went through the wooden door in front of the building and were met with a brightly lighted room with white walls and a registration area, at which an old man with a suit sat. Left and right of the desk there was a path to another room. On each of the walls there were portraits and photoes of people who showed a lot of their muscles.

Without even waiting a second they sprinted past the registration area and through the doorframe "Good evening Mr. Johnson! Until later Mr. Johnson!"

Before the man could even answer they were already gone.

"These boys..", the old man sighed.

After Julian had gone trough the doorway he was greeted by a big Gym. Many workout machines standing around, with adults using them.

Both Julian and Mike went to the right end corner of the Gym. There, two doors stood. One of which had "Junior Fighters" engraved into it, and the other "Senior Fighters".

Mike went to the Door which said "Junior Fighters" and asked Julian "Are you going to train with the them again?"

"Yeah, elsewise i wouldn't improve that much." "You're really something Julian, you know? They have many years of experience, but you have only been to this club for a few days and can already hold your ground against them..."

"I still have some experience from my other martial arts clubs", Julian smiled "so it isn't all that hard."

"Well.. see you at the end of the lesson", Mike waved as he opened the door and went through it. Before he could close it Julian gave him a smirk and said teasingly "Yeah yeah, don't get beat up again"

Although it was embarrassing Mike could only puff his his face while showing Julian the middlefinger through the small door crack before closing it.

Julian laughed it off and went through the door on which stood "Senior Fighters"

After closing it he went to the first door on the right. On it stood "Changing Room" written in capital letters. The room was full of sportbags and clothes. Julian went to the nearest free bench and put down his bag. He took off his shoes, pants, shirt and then put on his sport clothes. A black T-shirt and black, short sweatpants. Being done with getting dressed he went to the door on the opposite side, took a deep breath and made a nonchalant expression. Before he could enter he heard a voice from within.

"Hahaha, luckily 'He' seems to be late! Now I can show off again!" "Hey Duran, you shouldn't talk so loud about that, what if 'He' hears you?" "He? If 'He' had come, then maybe he could've heard me! But that kid isn't here so why bother?" the man laughed it off happily.

"What is it?", the boasting man looked at the other, smaller man who was seemingly sweating all over.

Feeling a chill down his back the man, called Duran, turned around and saw a 1.75m tall person standing there, eye twitching and arms crossed.

That person was Julian.
