Chapter 1 - My Junior High School Head Teacher Zhao Yifan: A Seriously Derelict Educator

During my time at the junior high school of Hegang Yucai Middle School, the various actions of my teacher Zhao Yifan left me with indelible painful memories, and also gave me a completely different understanding of the responsibilities and ethics of teachers.

Junior high school breaks should be full of laughter and relaxation, but for me, they are often the beginning of nightmares. Once, when I was about to turn around, before I had time to turn my body, Li Lu exerted all his strength and slapped me on the back. The loud "pop" sound instantly penetrated the noise of the classroom, causing the students in the first three rows to turn their heads and look. In this chaotic scene, some students were actually laughing on the side, as if they were watching an interesting farce. At that time, the head teacher Zhao Yifan was standing at the door of the classroom. Her sight clearly covered all of this, but she was like a statue, with her lips tightly closed, not uttering a word to stop this rude behavior, leaving me to endure the shock and pain brought by this sudden violence.

Another time, during a break in class, I just turned my head and had no time to react, and even before I had time to focus my eyes, Zhang Hongjun's deskmate was like an angry beast, suddenly raised his arm, clenched his fist, and used all his strength to hit my back with a whistling wind. The dull and huge sound, like a heavy hammer, not only shook my body, but also instantly broke the original quiet atmosphere during the break in class. The students in the first few rows seemed to be pulled by an invisible force, and turned their heads quickly as a conditioned reflex, their eyes full of surprise and disbelief. Some students even slipped unconsciously because of this sudden change, and the stationery they were fiddling with in their hands fell on the desk with a crisp "tapping" sound. In a corner of the classroom, several students had inappropriate snickers on their faces, as if they were treating this as a funny show for entertainment. At this time, Teacher Zhao Yifan was at the door of the classroom. Her eyes clearly swept over the chaotic scene, but she chose to remain silent indifferently and did not take any action to stop it.

On the edge of the playground, several students were humiliating Zhang Lijuan very close to her. From their expressions and actions, I guessed that they were humiliating Zhang Lijuan. I just glanced at her casually without any other thoughts. Because Zhang Lijuan did not dare to take action against the people who humiliated her, she vented her anger on me, rushed over like crazy, clenched her fists and hit me hard on the back like raindrops. The surrounding students were stunned by this sudden situation, and the students in the first few rows of this class were surprised. The movement of Class 6 next door was also attracted, and many students cast surprised eyes, whispered to each other, and looked unbelievable. Even the head teacher of Class 6 next door looked in my direction several times. Teacher Zhao Yifan stood on the viewing platform beside the playground from beginning to end, watching me being beaten by her, but did not step forward to stop it.

In the dormitory, which should be a small group full of warmth and care, I was not spared either. I was bullied, isolated and excluded by my roommates, and I could only cry silently for countless nights. The long-term mental torture almost pushed me to the brink of collapse. In the end, I plucked up the courage to tell my mother everything and begged her to go to the school to find Teacher Zhao Yifan, hoping to get help and end this endless pain.

Looking back on this period of time in junior high school, whenever I encountered injustice, Teacher Zhao Yifan always chose to stay out of it and hang it up. As a class teacher, she was seriously derelict in her duty and completely deviated from the moral standards and responsibilities that teachers should have. Her behavior left a series of scars that are difficult to heal in my junior high school life, and those painful experiences are still deeply engraved in my heart.
