I woke up to the sound of that irritating alarm clock. Ugh, I hate that thing. I
reached over and hit the snooze button, hoping for a few more minutes of
peace. But I knew I had to get up.
I sat up in bed, rubbing my eyes and stretching. The sunlight was peeking
through the curtains, filling my room with a warm glow. I took a deep breath
and tried to shake off the sleepiness. Today was going to be another busy day
at college.
I glanced at the clock 6:30 AM. Right on time. I swung my legs over the side
of the bed and stood up, feeling the cool floor under my feet. I walked over to
the window and pulled back the curtains. The city of Idalia was already
awake, with people rushing around and the sounds of life filling the air.
Despite everything, I loved this city. It was full of energy and mystery.
And with my ability to detect lies, I felt I had a special connection to the truth
hidden beneath the surface.
