Seconds after that Ayra reached the place where the pleading voice was coming from. For her own surprise it really was lady Eva. The old lady was laying on the grass next to a tree while a man was coming towards her. Ayra has always loved lady Eva and seeing how this sweet woman can be potentially harmed by this stranger, made her scared and angry. Her older brother Kyle has always told her to think twice before acting…however, she's yet to master this. Ayra jumped in front of lady Eva and kicked the man where the sun doesn't shine while also spouting a bunch of cuss words. -How dare you try to attack an innocent defenseless woman? Have you no heart??? Child, what are you doing?-interrupted her lady Eva- This young man was trying to help me! Apologize right this instant! The man in question was still on the ground trying to collect himself after the sudden kung fu attack. -Sir, I'm terribly sorry! I misunderstood and acted impulsively! You can be as angry to me as you want but the lady needs help so I believe it would be best to resolve this later.- said Ayra as she offered her hand to help him get up. Needless to say, the man- William, was furious but he too knew that there were more important matters to deal with at the moment. He got up, by himself, leaving Ayra just standing there with an extended arm. She decided not to pay attention to that and asked lady Eva what has happened while the man helped the old lady sit. It was visible that she was holding something…like a sack maybe? She was keeping it close to her frail body, clearly it was very important for her. -This is my grandson.- said lady Eva as she pointed to the „sack" and exposed the face of a little chubby human, sleeping soundly in her arms, somehow undisturbed by all the commotion. Ayra immediately asked: „But how is he …, I mean, we all thought he didn't make it?" -Yes, that's what everyone thought, even my son and his wife. That's why they left Karlo. They couldn't bear the sadness of being reminded everyday of their beautiful boy who left them. But the thing is that I managed to save him. He's still not perfectly recovered but at least he's alive. Ayra wondered how did the old lady performed such a miracle. After all, everyone knew about the condition this child was born in. That's when the girl remembered something. Some people from the village have said that Eva Collins is a witch but Ayra never believed those strange rumors…but what if this really is the case… -So why did you take the kid here?- suddenly asked the man. -You see, I had talked with a merchant to take me to the village my son and his wife live in. But that man lied to me and never showed up. Ayra interrupted her: „But how did you even decide to do this? You're already so frail and sickly. You could've asked me or Kyle for help. We would never turn you down!". -I know child, you two are very kind souls. The truth is that my time will come soon and I wanted to see my son for one last time. But things didn't really turn out as planned. The merchant never showed up, then I also tripped and fell… The only good thing in this situation is that at least I saw you, Ayra. I don't know how are you going to take what i'm about to say but I want you to feel free to refuse me if you don't wish to do it. -Yes? If I can help, then I'll do my best!- responded Ayra. -Boy- said the grandma as she pointed at Will- come closer, you should hear this too. The favor i'm about to ask you is regarding my son. I would be very thankful if both of you find him and tell him that little John is alive. -Yes, of course. I'll do my best, aunt Eva.-said Ayra. -But why do I have to go with her? -Well- started the old lady- The trip might be long so I can't let this girl go by herself. I know your mother and I'm sure she raised a great man. Then the lady turned to Ayra and continued: „It would be good if Kyle could come with you but I know how hard it was for him to land this job that he recently got. His boss wouldn't allow him to be away for so long." -Young man, would you be so kind to accompany this girl and protect her if needed?- she asked William. The gentleman was caught off guard but looking at this pitiful old lady who had „hope" written all over her face, he felt pressured to agree. -I'm very thankful, to both of you- said lady Eva with tears on her eyes as she handed them the child. Coincidentally right in this moment the fireworks started in the background, lighting the path of the new adventure which awaited our characters.
