When Ava met up with Lily and Sarah at the garage towards midnight, she could tell that something had shifted and alliances were being formed.
"Doesn't matter how much money you spend to look good, a pig will always be a pig," Sarah commented.
"Sarah…" Lily whispered chastising Sarah, but Ava could tell she wasn't entirely against Sarah ribbing her.
Ava smiled a bit; there was no use crying over the loss of a friendship with another rival.
"Shall we?" Ava asked and got in the front seat of the car.
The driver waited for the other ladies to get in before driving off to the club.
The club was exclusive; only the highest-ranking members of the pack and their mates or girlfriends were allowed entry.
Hips Don't Lie boomed from the speakers, and the dance floor was quite busy already.
Alpha Raventhorn sat at the VIP area with his usual frown in place, holding a glass of bourbon and a cigar.
His inner circle was gathered around him. Gamma Kade was there this time with a shirt on, some other man who had introduced himself to me as the Alpha's beta on the first day I arrived here.
Sarah and Lily headed to the VIP area, leaving her behind to flirt with the Alpha. Their jealousy was kind of making them look desperate.
Ava walked in like she belonged there, wearing a sleek black dress that hugged her body and revealed her long legs; her confidence hit the moon.
Her long, dark hair cascaded over one shoulder, her lips painted a dangerous shade of red, and the glitters on her skin shone beneath the club strobe lights.
She could see that he was watching her, but since this afternoon, she had gone to him needing something; it was time for her to wait for him to come to her.
She had no idea if her strategy was going to get her what she wanted, but she damn well was going to try.
She saw him pull Lily to his lap, running his hand into her dress. Well, that didn't take long.
Ava felt completely alone in a clubhouse full of drunk, high, and horny people, so she headed to the bar.
A couple of drinks later, Ava is feeling a little too good. She could feel the alcohol melting away her inhibitions.
The sultry beat of Angel's song playing took control of her senses, and she headed to the dance floor.
She made her way to the center stage where the other ladies were dancing and let the music guide her.
She rolled her hips, swayed her body, and danced like she was casting a spell on everyone around her.
Her movement was deliberate; her dance steps were an invisible chain that needed to pull the alpha closer.
If he was truly satisfied with the concubines he had, he wouldn't be on the lookout for more. She was going to make herself irreplaceable.
Lucas, who kept one eye on her ever since she stepped into the club, stiffened as he saw most of the men look in one direction.
His muscles twitched in irritation.
What in the hell was she trying to do? Did she forget that she was in the midst of full-blooded wolves?
He sat glued to his seat, refusing to give in.
He hated that she was pulling him in.
He didn't want any woman to ever again have such a hold on him.
When he had seen her for the first time, she looked haggard, unworthy, but now… she looked breathless.
The guts she displayed in his office to stand up to him in that way.
Even though he could smell her fear, she said what she wanted to, damning the consequence.
She wanted to be his friend, his confidant.
Lucas had laughed when he was finally alone. A friend… He trusted no one that much to get so close to him. He didn't have friends; he didn't need them.
He shoved Lily, who had been pleasuring him, aside as Ava continued to hypnotize him.
Ava continued to dance and enjoy the rush of adrenaline flowing through her body.
She twirled gracefully in her heels, and her eyes landed on the alpha watching her with undisguised hunger.
Ava finally gave up and decided to give her legs a break.
She headed back to the bar, staggering when she felt strong hands grip her wrist, yanking her away from the bar.
He didn't say a word as he led her through the club, up a staircase into his personal suite.
He slammed the door shut behind them, the sound echoing in the hallway."Are you out of your mind?" he growled.
She dropped into the bed; she could barely stand on her feet. "You asked for entertainment, didn't you?"
Lucas raised an eyebrow. The guts of the little slut. Was she getting smart-mouthed with him?"You will speak to me with respect!"
His eyes flashed a golden yellow as his growl got louder.Ava struggled to get herself off the bed. "I apologize, your highness."
Lucas couldn't tell if she was mocking him or if it was being genuine.
"You do have some nerve, my little virgin."
She pushed herself to her toes and brushed her lips against his. "I think you are afraid, Alpha. You are afraid of how much you may come to need me."
Lucas's rage came to the brink.
In a flash, he had his hands on her throat and aimed her back at the closest wall with as much force as he deduced her frail, wolfless being could tolerate.
He could almost see the air whoosh out of her mouth.
With an extended claw, he ripped the dress right through the middle. "Big talk coming from someone who shuddered at the sight of my cock."
"It was my first time; what's your excuse?" She choked out from the pressure on her neck.
"Do you have a death wish, Ava?" He took in the sight of her. He couldn't believe the transformation she had gone through in three short days.
"Let me give you details of what you are begging for. I don't do passion. I don't have the time to patiently wait for you to be wet enough or wide enough for me to fit inside you. I will fuck you in every hole you have and leave you for dead; do you understand me?"
"Is that all you want, Alpha? Is that all you truly want?"
He released the grip on her neck as she was already turning white.
Before she could say another word, he crushed his lips against hers, rougher than ever.
His hands gripped into her hair, holding her in place. The kiss was a silent warning that he wasn't a man to be played with.
Ava knew the risks; she accepted it, and she was ready to play with fire.
Even when his nails were digging into her skin, she endured the pain and steeled herself.
He pulled away from her. "Find your wolf as soon as possible." He said stepping back. "And come to my office after training tomorrow so we can discuss your former pack."
Ava didn't understand what was going on with him, but she nodded obediently.
"You can sleep here tonight. I will have someone pick you up in the morning. Tell me you got a phone from your shopping spree."
She shook her head, and he hissed.
"Women!"
He left without another word, slamming the door once more. Ava could feel it; he was slipping and she was winning. Just a little bit more, Ava. A little bit more.
