[You Died, Game Over]
-THUD.
"Fuck this bullshit!" I hit my desk out of sheer frustration.
My name is Ethan Walker, I am 18 years old and I currently live alone. I was never much of an outgoing or social person neither did I have anyone I could spend my time with. I was utterly and truly all alone.
To get rid of this lonely feeling I started playing video games mostly fantasy games like Skyrim, Witcher, Kingdom Come, and all the others. Currently, I have been playing a game called 'Legacy of Heroes'.
It is an academy game which had everything a fantasy fanatic could hope for. Romance? Yep. Magic and Knights? Yep. Dialogue Options and multiple choices? Yep. Engaging fights? Yep. Everything that a gamer like me could wish for was here.
Although those things only existed in the First half. The second half was much darker, there was war ongoing and some cultists were manipulating the scene from behind. And one of such cultists was a boss I had not been able to beat.
"Is this fucking souls-like or what? Why is this guy so tough?" I cried out frustrated, I had played many games in my 18 years but never seen such a tough boss and yes I am not lying I have played souls-like games also and completed them.
This particular boss that I had been stuck on was a hidden boss, no one in the game's community had been able to beat it yet. I thought I could do it but here I am on the 68th try and still unsuccessful.
This boss named "Fiend" was a mystery he had no backstory nor any other information. Even his face was covered by an ominous black mask with purple lines etched onto them. He was wearing black spikey armor with a lavender cloak that flowed behind him while covering his shoulder pads. A single attack from him on hard difficulty can kill the protagonist, he was that fucking tough.
Releasing a frustrated sigh, I looked at the clock. It was currently 5 o'clock in the evening. "I am hungry," I stood up from my setup chair and made my way towards the front door of my small apartment.
My apartment was like any student's, with no fancy furniture, only a bed and my gaming setup which was gifted to me by my grandma, she is no longer in this world. My apartment is generally a mess filled with garbage, I don't have money to hire anyone to clean nor do I have the time.
I spend most of my time buried in assignments or I play video games, I don't even have proper meals sometimes a bread for dinner maybe. Well, it is mostly because I have no money, I work part-time but yeah, that won't get me much money anyway.

Opening the door I headed outside, the building corridor was empty, around me only five more rooms were on the first floor and I don't talk to my neighbors anyway. I made my way to the stairs and entered the lobby, the security guard was busy on his phone talking with someone. I paid him no mind and walked right past him.
The sky outside was tinged with an orange hue signaling that the sun was setting. I walked alongside the footpath and made my way toward a store where I could get a cup of ramen or bread to eat. My stomach was growling with hunger.
My mind was still etched with frustration due to the boss. Why was he so goddamn hard? The protagonist was fully upgraded but still, he was easily killed in one strike of his black blade.
I had taken the challenge to beat this boss but I failed 68 times, it left a very bad taste in my mouth as a completionist. No matter what games I played, I always take up the challenge to 100 percent it.
It gives me immense joy to do so. But this time it was a first, a game where I stopped at a quest, most importantly a hidden quest due to an unknown boss. "Fuck" I cursed under my breath.
I was now waiting in front of a walking signal which was showing a red sign. I waited for a minute and then it turned green, I made my way to cross the road but then.

Something hit me from my right side, I was sent flying, and my body skidded along the pavement of the road. My body surged with pain and blood filled my mouth, my head felt lighter as if I was losing consciousness.
"Cough, Cough, W-what happened?" I slowly lifted my head to look at a car, its front was now dented likely from the impact of the hit. Two people came out from the front seat and driver seat and rushed towards me.
"Hey man are you alright?" One of them asked. It was a male, his expression was laced with concern and fear.
"Obviously he is not you dumbass. Call the ambulance now!" Another voice shouted but this time my vision had already blurred. I knew my end was near and god am I fucking thankful.
I was thankful that this fucking miserable life of mine was finally over. "haha" I chuckled, this life where I had no one to care for me, no one to help me. My own parents abandoned me and left me to die saying I was a burden.
'Fuck them all'
My only embrace of warmth was my grandma, but she was also taken away from me. I was all alone, with no friends, and no relatives who reached out to me. My life was nothing but a void but it doesn't matter now because it was all over.
"Hey man stay with us!" the duo shouted as they grabbed my body but my consciousness was already fading.
'It is too late, you motherfuckers'
As I thought, silence embraced me leading me to a void resembling my quiet and lonely life, it was completely dark. Memories started to play in my mind.
"Why were you even born?"
"It is because of you that Aaron left"
"Just die"
"Don't worry Ethan, Grandma is always here for you"
"Grandma, I miss you so much it hurts. I am all alone, no one wants me in their lives"
'Is this what you call happy memories flashing in your mind before death' But there was no such memory for me other than my Grandma's. All the others were stains in my mind that I wanted to erase.
But maybe if I had a chance, I could live differently. Maybe in the next life, I will get good parents who will give me the love I want. The love that I had abandoned the hope of getting.
[Transferring the soul] A mechanical voice played in my mind.
"What?"
[Ethan Walker, the ***ver wishes you luck]
"Hey! What are you!?" I shouted but there was no response and the next thing I knew. I was lying on a soft bed. My whole body ached, and I felt heavy as if my weight had increased over time.
My eyes were now not looking at any darkness but dimly lit room. I sat up on the bed and felt a squishy sensation. It was my body, I was now fat.
"What the hell!?" I burst out of the bed and started examining my body, "How did I get fat?"
I looked around the room which unlike my previous apartment was more luxurious. The room is spacious and well-organized. A large bed with fine sheets sits against one wall where I was lying down, while a sturdy wooden desk with books and papers rests near a window. A wardrobe holds a few finely tailored clothes, a mirror near the wardrobe, and a small table with chairs is placed near the fireplace. The room is simple yet elegant, reflecting someone with riches.
I was now more utterly confused, my whole body trembled at the sight. It was clearly not a hospital ward. My mind went blank, It was filled with confusion and questions. But there was one likely answer to all of those.
'Did I just transmigrate?'
