The sun shine bright and high over the city between three green hills. Some towers stood on the gap between the hills.
The city was grand, filled with colors and diverse cultures .
A young boy with golden eyes and a buzz cut, 5.2 at max (height), was running on the city bulwark, greeting guards and stopping.
"Look who is here,"
"Bona, back to work?"
The young boy replied after handing them a small note,
"Yep, can't stay bed-sick forever, and I am 17 now, so I will soon apply for a guard job."
To that, the guard with a Mustache on the left replied,
"Give it a rest, kiddo. There is nothing good about standing guard all day or doing some 'clean up' time after time."
The boy replied while smiling,
"Well, it's still 100 times better than being a beggar with no disability or a 17-year-old being pampered by his father."
"You are right."
Bona left after informing them some details of their daily task note. Both guards sighed as the boy left, thinking about his father. Bona's father, Bokus, is the head guard of one of the two major trade organizations in the world, "Nagaram." Bona is not weak for his age, and height is a different matter.
His father trained him even after having such a busy job, which could be called anything but pampering.
"Ha, late again. Looks like the whole week of rest really did affect my flow."
The young boy panted as he stood before the " Nagaram HQ " at the center of the city with a signboard on top of the massive 6-meter-tall gate: "Nagaram."
The young guard, around 6 feet tall, standing with a long spear in his hand, smiled at Bona.
"Look who is here, sick again?"
"Yes," Bona replied while breathing heavily.
"Relax, have some water."
After drinking some water, Bona spoke,
"Better, being sick is not the best way to use my day off."
"True. By the way, the head guard told me to send you towards the hall today."
"Really?"
"Yes, and don't go running there in a rush, or somebody might mistake you for a mad dog."
The guard laughed while Bona entered the large vicinity, making a sulking face toward the guard.
On his way to the grand hall, Bona met 2 more guards on their usual patrol.
"Hmm, what could Father be thinking, calling me to the grand hall where the head of Nagaram works and manages all his assets?"
As the boy got closer to the grand hall, a door about the same height as the main gate with "Grand Hall" written on top and two guards standing with spears in hand came into view.
"Good morning , Father asked me to come here today ."
Both guards nodded while facing Bona.
This door was as big as the main one but a bit shinier, and it did not have a small inbuilt door for people to pass through like the main door. Maybe because this door did not welcome many visitors. The guards put their spears down and then together pushed that massive door with their essence power. It was no easy task as I have seen at least 10 people in good shape are need to open the main entrance door.
Bona didn't meet these guards often as they always stood guard here, but they looked strong, even if not as strong as his father.
As I entered the hall which was 20 meters high and 40 meters wide. I heard a very familiar voice
A man with similar golden eyes as bona and a good height with a fairly muscular build and a veteran face spoke.
"As I informed you, my lord, he often gets sick from time to time. He has no essence energy in him, which is why he needs 'deus herba,' also known as god herb, for him to stay healthy."
After he finished, both my father and the lord looked at me with pity in their eyes.
The man in the golden robe, a big fat man with black hair, looked to be at least 2 meters tall if he stood up. 'If he stood,' the thought came to my mind with slight pity in my eyes as well.
It appeared that the lord understood what was in my mind from looking at my eyes. He stood up from his throne-like chair with a table in front and smiled while walking toward me. I began to sweat as the man standing in front of me was the head of one of the two major trade organizations in the world with the highest rank in trade - grand merchant - with the same level of authority as a lord. His name was Ravi Han.
