Seraph had spent the last six months trying to erase every trace of Tyler from her life. His voice, his touch, his presence—she had scrubbed them from her memory as best as she could. But some wounds weren't visible, and some ghosts were harder to exorcise.

She sat at her usual corner booth in the café, sipping a lukewarm latte and scrolling through Instagram when she saw it.

Laughing. Smiling. Holding another girl close like she was the best thing to ever happen to him.

Seraph's stomach twisted. She hated that seeing him with someone else still made her feel anything at all. It wasn't jealousy. Not in the way people would assume. It was fear.

Because the girl in the picture—Lila—had no idea what she was getting into.
