Year 0002, The Imperium
---
By now the once winter-filled land has had its luster returned, with trees of different colors in full bloom.
The wildlife now sings throughout the forest floor, with beast and prey alike living in a harmonius balance, between life and death.
At a hidden cavern, with a small crevice, just enough to fit a boys body, hid August with his bow trained at a Boarat or its official name from the beast index the 'Skitterpig' .
Its a wild beast with a mix between prey and predator, it has the predominant body of a boar with hooves.
But were sharp like a claw and a tail like the typical rat critter.
Its face was elongated like a rat, but has a protruding tusk and the size depends on the maturity of the beast, its rarity and its rank.
What makes most beasts and prey so dangerous is when their rank gets higher and their rarity increases.
Their stats double or triple, and it makes them a lot more intelligent, stronger, and harder to kill.

But for August, they were mere food and experience points.
By now he noticed that beasts and prey alike have levels, ranks, and rarity of their own.
And this particular species average ranges with levels around 1-5, with 50-500 experience points.
Its ranks ranges from Common to Commander Rank, with rarities ranging from Novice to Advance.
This current prey of his was around the low-middle. It was a Lvl. 3 Boarat with a common rank and a rarity of Novice, so it was a bit more stupid.
It was a level lower than him, as he was now LVL 4 with his experience bar half filled at [3,350 / 4,000].
What was unique about his game-like system was that it gave him the entire animal as his reward instead of just a select few parts.
---
August was out here hunting for one of the systems [Daily Mission]; he first received this new update the following day when he woke up after he unlocked his [Personal Panel].
Today was no different, he was given the task to hunt 5 Boarats, with no other particular requirements.
After completion he would be rewarded with 500 exp and a new bow and quiver.
He was excited with this, because the chiefs bow was now a bit worn out from use.
---
After a while of stalking his current prey, he let an arrow loose and knacked another one and let it go.
*puiikk, puikkk
Both arrows struck the Boarat and pierced its body and it squealed in pain as it was being impaled by the arrow.
*oiiiinnnkkkk!!
The Boarat ran away, but he expected this.
It was now heavily bleeding and it left trails of its blood along the way.
But instead of tiring himself chasing his prey August took a leisurely but quick pace or other predators might see this as an opportunity to take down the weakened beast for their own.
---
After a minute of following the Boarat, it finally stopped moving from the blood loss.
He knacked another arrow and let it loose straight to the animals brain, killing it.

August broke into a gleeful giggle when he saw the additional rewards for reaching Level 5.
" Hmmm so I can now cast magic right? But how? "
He pondered for a bit until...
*Rustling sound
There were movement on the bushes away from him and it brought him back to his senses.
He was still out in the open and was liable for being killed from carelessness.
" Right I'll have to study this when I get back to the village. "
He dragged the carcass back home, since it was almost as big as him.
He could only kill one Boarat at a time and he need to make a couple of trips to take his kills back home
.
He walked away with all smiles etched on his smug face.
But he remained alert for the possible dangers, especially when he now reeks of Boarat blood.
He knew predators loved the smell of bleeding prey, and they would surely jump on him if he let his guard down even for one second.
As it has always been the rule of the jungle, The Survival of the Fittest...
