Chapter 1 - Chapter one

Chapter One: Welcome to Marvel, Now Survive

Pain.

A dull, pounding ache in his skull. A sharp chill running through his body. Joshua's senses slowly returned, and the first thing he felt was the cold pavement beneath him.

With a groan, he forced his eyes open. Where am I?

Towering skyscrapers stretched into the sky, their glass windows reflecting the glow of massive neon billboards. Yellow taxis honked as they weaved through traffic. People walked past, paying him no mind as they carried on with their daily lives.

New York City?

Joshua blinked. His memory was hazy. The last thing he remembered was sitting in his room, flipping through a Suicide Squad comic. Then… darkness. And now, somehow, he was here.

Before he could even begin to panic, a mechanical ding rang in his head, followed by a robotic voice.

[Welcome, Host. You have been chosen for the Suicide Squad System.]

Joshua's breath hitched. A system? Like in those web novels?

[That's right. I created this system for fun, and you are my entertainment. But don't worry—I won't harm you. In fact, I might even help… sometimes.]

That didn't sound reassuring.

[Mission: Survive the Next Five Minutes.]

[Threat Detected.]

Joshua's heart skipped a beat. What threat?!

"Freeze! Hands where we can see them!"

He turned just in time to see a group of SHIELD agents rushing toward him, weapons drawn.

What the hell?! What did I do?!

One of the agents, a burly man in black combat gear, spoke into his radio. "Subject located. Engaging now."

Joshua took an instinctive step back. He didn't know what was happening, but one thing was clear—he was being treated as a hostile target.

Then, another ding.

[Emergency Summon Unlocked: Choose One.]

1. Deadshot – Master marksman, never misses.

2. Harley Quinn – Unpredictable and dangerous.

3. Captain Boomerang – Trickster with deadly projectiles.

Joshua barely hesitated. "Summon Deadshot!"

A red glow flickered beside him, and suddenly, a man clad in tactical armor materialized out of thin air. His single glowing red eye locked onto the SHIELD agents.

Deadshot cracked his neck, his wrist-mounted guns clicking into place. "Alright, boss. Who we killin'?"

Joshua gulped. "Uh… just get us out of here!"

Deadshot moved instantly. In the blink of an eye, precise gunfire rang out. The SHIELD agents barely had time to react before their weapons were shot right out of their hands.

"Tsk. Too easy," Deadshot muttered.

Sirens blared in the distance. More SHIELD vehicles were approaching fast.

[New Mission: Escape SHIELD Pursuit.]

Joshua clenched his fists. If I get caught now, it's over.

"Deadshot, cover me!"

He bolted down the nearest alleyway as Deadshot provided cover fire, taking out street cameras and disabling enemy reinforcements with pinpoint accuracy.

Joshua's mind raced. This wasn't a dream. This was real.

He had no idea how or why he was here, but one thing was clear—if he wanted to survive in the Marvel Universe, he needed power.

And for that, he had the Suicide Squad System.

Chapter One (Part 2): Baptism by Fire

Joshua's lungs burned as he sprinted down the darkened alley, the rapid gunfire from Deadshot echoing behind him. SHIELD wasn't letting up. More agents were pouring into the area, blocking potential escape routes.

"Boss, we ain't got long," Deadshot called out, casually reloading his wrist-mounted guns. "You got a plan, or are we just improvising?"

Joshua skidded to a stop behind a dumpster, panting. Think, think! He needed a way out before they boxed him in. His only advantage was the Suicide Squad System, and he hadn't even begun to explore its functions.

"System! Do I have any other options?" he asked mentally, hoping for an answer.

[You have one available system feature: Support Summon.]

[Support Summon (1x Use) – Allows summoning of an item, gadget, or minor ally to assist in the current situation.]

Joshua didn't hesitate. "Use Support Summon!"

A bright red glow flared beside him. As the light faded, a sleek, black motorcycle appeared—the exact model used by the Suicide Squad in some of their missions.

Joshua's eyes widened. "Hell yeah."

Deadshot let out a low whistle. "Not bad. You drivin', or am I?"

"I'll drive. You shoot."

Deadshot smirked. "Now you're talkin'."

Without wasting time, Joshua hopped onto the bike, revving the engine. Deadshot leaped onto the back, one hand gripping Joshua's shoulder while his other aimed toward the pursuing SHIELD agents.

"GO!"

Joshua twisted the throttle, and the bike roared to life, shooting out of the alleyway like a bullet.

SHIELD agents reacted instantly. "They're escaping! Open fire!"

Bullets zipped past as Joshua weaved through the traffic, narrowly avoiding collisions. Deadshot, completely unfazed, returned fire with deadly precision. Each shot disarmed an agent, shattered a drone, or blew out the tires of an approaching vehicle.

Joshua barely had time to appreciate how insane his life had become. One moment, he was reading comics. The next, he was leading a high-speed chase through Marvel's New York with Deadshot as his personal bodyguard.

Then, his system chimed again.

[Bonus Mission: Evade Pursuit Without Taking Damage – Reward: Additional Summon Ticket.]

Joshua gritted his teeth. "Challenge accepted."

Gunning the engine, he took a sharp turn, cutting through a narrow passage between two buildings. The SHIELD vehicles were too large to follow directly, forcing them to take a detour.

"Nice move, boss," Deadshot said approvingly, firing a quick shot that sent a pursuing drone spiraling into a nearby building.

The bridge ahead led out of Manhattan. If they could cross it, they might have a shot at escaping. But before they could reach it—

BOOM!

An explosion rocked the street ahead, sending flames and debris flying. The shockwave nearly knocked Joshua off balance as he skidded to a stop.

Out of the smoke, a lone figure stepped onto the road.

A skull-patterned vest. Heavy military-grade weapons. A cold, ruthless stare.

Joshua's stomach dropped. The Punisher.

And from the way he was looking at them, he wasn't here for a friendly chat.

[Mission Updated: Survive The Punisher's Assault.]

Joshua let out a nervous chuckle. "Oh, come on! Are you serious?!"

Deadshot sighed, cracking his knuckles. "Alright, boss. You got one hell of a first day."

Joshua couldn't agree more.

And it was only just beginning.
