Chapter 4: The Cult of the Black Depths
Emma knew that she had to act fast. She packed a small bag and left her apartment, determined to get as far away from Sarah and the cult as possible. But as she walked through the city streets, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched.
She finally arrived at a small café on the outskirts of town, where she had agreed to meet a mysterious figure who claimed to have information about the cult. The figure, a hooded man with piercing green eyes, sat in the corner of the café, sipping a cup of black coffee.
"You're the one who's been researching the cult," he said, his voice low and gravelly. "I've been watching you. You're getting close to the truth."
Emma's heart skipped a beat as the man pushed a small folder across the table. Inside, she found a series of photographs and documents, each one revealing a piece of the cult's dark history.
"This is the Cult of the Black Depths," the man said, his eyes glinting with a mixture of fear and fascination. "They're an ancient organization, dedicated to summoning forth an otherworldly power from the depths of the earth."
Emma's mind reeled as she flipped through the documents. The cult's rituals were described in graphic detail, each one more horrific than the last. And at the center of it all was Sarah, her eyes black as coal, her skin deathly pale.
"What's Sarah's role in all of this?" Emma asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
The hooded man leaned forward, his eyes glinting with a mixture of fear and fascination. "Sarah is the key to unlocking the Black Depths," he said. "She's the one who will bring forth the power from the depths of the earth."
Emma's heart skipped a beat as she realized the true horror of the cult's plan. She knew that she had to stop them, no matter what the cost.
