(Tomas mid flashback) "the night I lost everything to the flames that swallowed my mother, Elena, my father Lukas and my older sister Ella, and my 2 brothers Ian and Nicolace. It was the same night I knew I was different from everybody else. I was only 7 when it happened. I remember seeing flashes of bright light and a sea of flames. I heard faint screams for help but all I could do was huddle in the corner of my room as smoke bellowed in from underneath my door and seeped in through every crack, I could faintly see my dad out of a keyhole in my door fighting somethi.... ahhh ha ha again with those nightmares they have been getting worse lately Beep Beep Beep 11:59 am... o shit I'm late for my first day of work" -woosh.

Tomas rushes out of his room to prepare for the day ahead of him but before anything, he has to make his Uncle Jake also known as Uncle J breakfast. Jake has been very ill for the past few weeks and is struggling to get out now.

*Tomas "Good morning Uncle J sorry I'm so late with breakfast. Would you like the usual scrambled eggs with buttered toast on the side today as well?"

*Uncle J in a groggy voice " mm yeah that's fine.. o and Tomas happy birthday, I've been wanting to give this to you for a long time your dad left an inheritance behind but there was a condition, it was to be given to you when you turn 18 here take this, it was a blackish blue gem with a deep void of darkness with a light blue border that seemed to glow like the beams of light reaching out into the endless abyss of the ocean "

Tomas at first was stumped, he didn't think he had anything left from his family since everything burned in the fire. He stayed silent for a minute... and then he slowly grabbed it out of his uncle's hand. As soon as Tomas touched the pendant the grandfather clock struck 12 all the hairs on him stood on end like millions of volts of electricity rushing through his veins. every fiber of his being told him they were in danger.

Now to give you some perspective Tomas isn't someone who scares easily,he has been very stoic since he was younger, he's 6'1 and 217 lbs of lean muscle. but this isn't the first time he's felt this overwhelming sense of dread and anxiety. On the night of the fire that took his family, he came face to face with something unreal. It was about 9 ish feet in length covered in scales with a fiery glow and heat so fierce it could melt steel. All he could do was watch as his dad fought it off through a small keyhole in his door. His dad fought with everything he had to no avail. his mom, dad, sister, and two brothers all died and Tomas somehow evaded its gaze long enough to survive. When the authorities got there the house was burned down and Tomas was found unconscious in the front yard with no recollection of the beast that killed his family, just flashes of bright flames. The only time he ever got that feeling was when he saw that monster or when he saw flashes of it in his dreams.

Now let's get back to the situation at hand, shall we?

as suddenly as this unease began it stopped, tomas now drenched in cold sweats tells Uncle J he has to head to school in a daze. As Tomas makes his way through the back alleys he constantly observes the odd pendant that seems to draw his gaze into the deep darkness held within it, but soon his daze is broken.

*name?" hey... Hey.......HEY!! You just bumped into me aren't you going to say sorry"

Tomas jumps and frantically looks down to see a woman no taller than his waist, it's his neighbor Chloe who stays in room number 174. Tomas mostly kept to himself but he did occasionally greet her but never really held a meaningful conversation with her. so the words kinda fell out.

*Tomas "o s-sorry about that, I see you are heading off to work now as well I'll move to the side and let you through"

*Chloe "What do you mean as well your just a kid you still have your uniform out in public even when you are skipping class, how bold of you 

*hmph! Chloe" Whatever I don't have time for you"

Then Chloe brushes past Tomas and accidentally knocks his pendant out of his hand to the ground causing it to shatter with an odd echoing crack sound!!

*silence..

*chole "I'm so, so sorry I didn't mean to do that!!!. I promise I'll pay you back"

As Chloe is frantically apologizing to Tomas he is frozen in place not saying a word, not even moving an inch it was as if the air around him compressed to the point it was like concrete holding him in place.his gaze zoned in on the cracked pendant that sat there between them slightly vibrating and emitting this dark yet iridescent light blue glow in the dark damp alleyway

since Chloe hasn't gotten any response from Tomas the whole time she was ranting. she looked up to see this massive kid that towered over her and most people in front of her not moving not blinking nothing but his hair all over his body was standing on end like electricity surrounded him and his gaze was trained on the pendant with all of his ferocity turns towards Chloe but she doesn't feel fear from them she feels endless sadness and loneliness and an overwhelming determination to fight to protect than...

*BAMMM!!!

a flash of light blinded them then darkness shrouded both Chloe and Tomas's vision. Then their senses went into overload. All they felt was pain all over and all they saw was darkness yet it was all too blinding and painful like a never-ending abyss. then bam they were unconscious at this point. 

as time goes by Tomas is the first to wake up, he slowly opens his eyes and then suddenly squints the sun is bright and high up in the sky as his eyes start to adjust he sees trees and shrubs as far as he can see, and laying on the ground right next to him was Chloe still unconscious with no signs of waking up but seemed healthy nonetheless.

he takes in his surroundings carefully he sees a clearing about 400 meters to the north down the mountain between all the trees he sees a massive lake with a clearing about the size of a football field, but it's down a steep rocky incline he doesn't know what's in this forest so he wants to make sure he as a clear vision of his surrounding and a source of water to get his head on his shoulders. His priority was to first somehow get Chloe down to the clearing with him.

Tomas then shakes her a bit "Hey! Chloe, you have to get up.. come on get up already"

Chloe "Mmm in.. a.. bit mm"

She definitely wasn't getting up so he effortlessly hoisted her up into his arms making sure to hold her firm, then he got into a very low stance for his height,t and with a boom he was off, even with Chloe in his arms and the steep incline and rocky terrain, Tomas was soaring down the mountain at unbelievable speed. he enters the edge of the clearing in about 60 seconds which is roughly 300 meters and stops at the water's edge in a minute and 45 seconds

Tomas"hah hah ahh man that made me sweat a bit nothing like running to get the blood flowing *haha ahh"

After a brief pause, he sets Chloe down on a small soft bed of moss next to a he then takes note of his supplies he has his backpack that he was using for school or so his uncle thinks in reality he used it for work he was bricklayer since he didn't want to be a burden to his uncle.

Anyway, he has a premade and some other nicknacks

After some time thinking and the sun still high in the sky and no civilization in sight Tomas decides to set up a small camp about 10 meters from the lake and around 70 meters from the forest. After a few hours of gathering large sticks and branches, he made a simple shelter called a lean-to. It's a small shelter that protects you from some wind and helps keep the heat in. Since it was already starting to get dark he decided to make a fire With some small sticks and branches, he stacked enough to light with the lighter as it lit a few memories flashed by of some type of fiery scales then nothing it just ended.

*mmmmm ahhh 

A voice comes from behind Tomas Its Chloe starting to wake up as she comes to she sees Tomas leaning in close to her face within a few inches

Tomas " How do you feel, Are you hurt anywhere?"

Startled from waking with Tomas that close almost instantly Chloe turned bright pink and then pushed him away.

*Chloe shouts" IM- IM FINE!! You're too close" 

A little startled tomas stumbles backward and falls flat on his back laughing to himself

*Tomas chuckles to himself "Ahhahahahah what a shy one you are haha ah, I'm so glad you woke up you've been out for a few hours now"

Chloe looks around and sees that they are in the middle of nowhere in a shabby camp as the sun is setting at this point, realizing the situation her mind runs wild with thoughts about what could have happened to them but comes up blank.

*Chloe 'Hey umm Tomas where are we i remember being in the alleyway just then and now we are here what exactly happened?"

*Tomas "I'm not entirely sure i remember seeing the black crystal in my pendant glow a faint blue color in between the cracks then a flash of light, next thing I know I'm waking up next to you up that mountain over there. I've seen a few strange things since waking up here, like this bug or whatever it is " 

 Tomas then points towards a log about 30 feet away, perched atop it is a beetle so large it dwarfs any bug she has ever seen it had to be about 4 feet tall and maybe 5 or 5.5 feet long. It may not seem that scary but to her it was terrifying thinking if that's here what else is!

Tomas could sense her fear and assured her with a head pat while laughing at how cute she was being.

*Tomas "Don't worry too much we will get through this, this fire I made will keep the wild animals from getting too close I promise "

*Tomas asked Chloe as he put his trench coat around her "Well anyway you hungry at all? I have a few sandwiches and granola bars if you want any" 

*Chloe softly says "Mmm sure have a sandwich and a water, please, and thank you :)"

As they ate in silence huddled in the lean-to Chloe slowly leaned on Tomas's shoulder as he wrapped his arm around her tiny body completely securing her. She was clearly exhausted after everything she had gone through.

*Tomas "Get some sleep I'll keep watch for now…. She's already asleep"

*CracKLe!!

*Crack

*Fffptsss…..!

*a-rooooooo a-roo a-rooo

The sound of howling echoed in the night

*Tomas "fuck the fire needs more wood "

He puts the last few twigs in to stoke the fire just a bit.

Since It's been a few hours since sundown and the fire is finally just a faint glow now, Tomas hasn't slept in quite a long for almost 18 hours now and it's pushing him, Chloe is still fast asleep in his lap but he needs to get more firewood since there's no telling how long it is till sunrise, he nudges Chloe off his lap onto his backpack and grapes his large pocketknife and heads a little towards a small patch of bushes near the water only about 50 feet from his camp he is still able to see the silhouette of the camp so he was close enough to not have to worry about anything but out of nowhere!!

*AHHHHHHHhh HELLPPPP!!!

Tomas without even blinking bolts running with all his might 

*boom

He stumbles and falls with and hits a tree with enough force to shake ti even though its taller than a house and about the with of a large tire 

He staggers back up again and starts running again he feels his muscles tearing and a searing pain in his legs but still he feels it's too late the hairs on his body stand on end it's too dark to see clearly but the silhouette of a massive guy is seen taking Chloe as he is still over 40 feet way Tomas sees this he starts feeling a surge of energy coming from his heart his vision gets clearer and the night gets brighter his aces and pains start to disappear. This all happened in a single second.

0.25 seconds/ 30 feet away he starts to make out fury armored shoulders with a massive club

0.5 seconds/ 20 feet away he sees the lean-to is destroyed

0.75 seconds/ 10 feet away he starts to see skin color and facial features it has green-ish skin with a wide muscular build about 6'7ft in height and looks roughly 300 lbs of pure muscle 

1 second/ 2 feet away he is face to face with a creature that looks like an orge you normally see in video games 

*Tomas "AHHH!!!! GET YOUR HANDS OFF HER"

He grabs the long club with his left hand somehow sinking his fingers into the wood and using it to pull him in Without even thinking he uses the pocket knife he was using to gather firewood sunk into the neck of this massive thing and for Tomas to almost be dwarfed by something was almost unimaginable. As his knife sliced into its throat it made a gurgling noise and then stopped once Tomas almost instinctively twisted the knife sideways and straight out the right side of its neck which must have severed some major arteries because it lost its grip on Chloe. Who is now frantically screaming and crying, Almost falling to the ground but Tomas caught her just in time

Tomas finally came back from his rampage, which left small trees snapped and some thicker trees completely cracked in his wake so that he could get to Chloe in time. Without noticing he not only did he run at inhuman speeds with insane strength but also killed someone in those few seconds.

Chloe is still frantically crying in his arms 

*Tomas "Hey… hey Chloe calm down…please chloe. I know this was scary but are you hurt anywhere I need to make sure you are physically ok?"

*Chloe "Sniffle sniffle im- im I think I'm okay "

*Tomas "mmm im so happy t.. aklkkkakkkakakkkkkkKAKKAKKAAKAKKKKK!!!"

Tomas started screaming in pain his eyes which made things clearer suddenly went foggy and his legs which gave him so much strength and speed went numb with pins and metals and shooting pain in his bones and muscles then his heart felt like it scrunched up into knots.

*chloe "TOMAS, TOMAS pleas dont die sniffle … Please i cant do this without you…"

*Silence with the wind blowing making some embers crackle.

*ugh, haa ha ha ha 

Tomas's breathing was shallow and fast for about an hour then started to settle down after Chloe pulled him near the fire and stoked it till it was about 4 feet tall, then she laid in his arms and fell asleep even though she was terrified she was also exhausted beyond any fear she had.

*After an unknown amount of time. 

She wakes up to see Tomas gone with his coat yet again covering her up, the fire still burning pretty well and it looks to be about 8 am since the sun is just rising, she looks around to spot Tomas using the knife to cut something out of the giant creature laying on the ground about 10 feet away from camp.

Let's go back in time a bit as Tomas was going through immense pain someone was speaking but also not, somehow he heard it in his thoughts it said this.

 as he contemplates what he sees in front of him, he gets up and looks around the sun is about to peek over the mountains across the lake he sees what he killed last night it has a light gray crystal embedded in its chest, tomas walks over to it and takes a closer look it looks like a clouded quartz crystal.

*Tomas "I wonder what it is"

He proceeds to cut it out with the knife covered in a green thick blood
