Chapter 1 - Chapter 0 : Million Dungeon Lord

There's a game called 'Million Dungeon Lord'.

Shortened as 'MilDun'.

Overall, it's a basic dungeon defense game with the common setting of the user being a dungeon lord and a demon lord candidate who protects the dungeon.

There's a unique element where the user's avatar is directly characterized and fights on the front lines. However, the user's direct control is limited to summoning minions, creating or purchasing traps, and configuring the dungeon. During the wave defense phase, direct control is impossible.

Even the dungeon configuration can be set to progress automatically once certain guidelines are established, so in reality, it's essentially 80% or more like a bonsai game.

It's an ordinary freemium game where you can customize the user's avatar by spending money and sometimes drawing special characters.

To be honest, it wasn't a particularly fun game.

—Does it even have a million concurrent players? Does it reach 1,000, including NPCs?

—The characters are pretty, but there's nothing to do in this game.

—After reaching 1,000 hours of gameplay with unlimited content, there's almost nothing left to do?

These were the kinds of comments heard among the few hardcore players who weren't even casual users.

But you don't play bonsai games for fun, right? You play them because you can invest just a little time during your busy daily life.

Like all hardcore users, I, too, called this game a flop, but for me, it was a game worth holding onto.

Thinking, 'Isn't this good enough even if it's unpopular?'

That's how I enjoyed the game for about 3 years, even after my avatar became a demon lord in the game… or rather, I neglected it, only checking in when I felt like it.

『Thank you, Demon Lord 'Libertas'!

We are pleased to inform you that you have achieved 10,000 hours of gameplay!』

'Ah, here it comes again.'

So when this message came, I didn't even suspect anything.

Similar messages with special gift rewards had come at 100 hours, 200, 500, and 1000 hours.

I remember thinking it was strange when they didn't come at 2000 or 5000 hours, but I thought maybe that's why it came at 10,000 hours.

『To the Demon Lord who has grown alongside the dungeon in our 'Million Dungeon Lord' world for so long, we present the following gifts…』

These special gift rewards usually gave out premium items that required real cash, so I even felt glad.

The game's gacha itself was quite generous, so it wasn't too burdensome, and no one dislikes free stuff.

Thanks to this, I still felt this welcoming feeling when I opened the message.

『…And finally, as a special reward for 10,000 hours, we give you a 'Free Customization Ticket' to design your own demon lord and an 'Alpha Test Participation Ticket' to enjoy the upcoming 'Million Dungeon Lord 2' in advance!』

"Oh."

Until I saw this message.

Although it's not a particularly fun game, the game company has never caused any issues with service or premium items, and there have never been any server management problems. In other words, it's a game with no bad memories at all.

I enjoyed it for 3 years alongside my daily life, so it's natural that some attachment would develop.

It was news that finally sparked some enthusiasm.

『The demon lord appearance you design here will be able to join you as a demon lord candidate in the sequel, so please decide carefully!』

So.

I decided to design the prettiest avatar, referencing the appearances of favorite characters from animations and all sorts of 2D games.

After all, it's a rule of thumb to use a female character for game avatars.

'It's 3D… Are they planning to develop it properly? I just hope they don't suddenly shut down the server when they were doing well.'

While it's not a flop, it's certainly not a god-tier game either, so it's unlikely they would choose such a luxurious method as 3D graphics.

So, this element that gave the expectation of adopting 3D design in the sequel was enough to ignite the enthusiasm hidden in my heart.

Maybe they're getting more revenue than expected.

I thought I had long since lost interest because my daily life was too busy, but it seems that wasn't entirely the case.

In the end, I wasted an entire holiday customizing.

"…Damn it."

Of course, if I had known it would turn out like this, I would never have done it.

"Can you please explain to me why you're doing this…"

I was transported into the game world.

Something I thought would only happen in novels has actually happened to me.

Isekai transfer.

And in the form of the character I directly customized.

In other words, in the form of a woman.
